Welcome!! Glad to have you with us. Val

So excited!! Time seems to be moving right along!!

As for the Meet and Greet, I was thinking roughly an hour before the Muster Drill. It looks like in the past the drill has been at 4 pm, so if we met at 3, would that work for everyone? That way we would have enough time to say hi and get our shirts? I am thinking it would be easiest to keep this an informal meeting rather than going through DCL since we aren't a huge group. I personally have never been on the Wonder, so for those of you who have, do you have a suggestion for a meeting place?

I was reading a past Navigator & it looks like our drill would likely be scheduled for our first sea day.. :confused3

I have been on one cruise that they moved the drill to the second day but usually not. I looked in the trip reports for the Mexican Riviera and they show on the navagator, the drill happening the first day at 3:30ish. If they don't have the drill, I think 3:00 would still work for the M & G.

Aren't we better off knowing we have a place if DCL is involved?
:confused3

I am organizing the shirts, they are $8 each and I will be passing them out at the meet-up on the first day :) There is a link on the first page to order shirts and I will accept payment through paypal through October 1st. My paypal account is mradmiralboom@yahoo.com I prefer prepayment but I will also accept cash on the first day of the cruise :) The deadline to order shirts is October 1st.

Hi Molly,
I just sent you the payment for 5 shirts..

Hey Molly,
thank YOU :santa:for laying out the money for our shirts and for taking the time to get them done....
now..to ask for a favor....:rolleyes1[some of us keep looking at the mouth of the gift horse :lmao:]
I noticed your location is LA...
my kids and I are staying for 2 days after the cruise somewhere around there....
what area
[I use hotwire for 4 star hotels and they only tell me the area for the best rate..not the specific hotel]...
would be best if they want to be central to the touristy things like Graumanns in hollywood and universal?
by best..I also mean a nice area..of course..:scared1:

Wow, only a little over 9 weeks till we sail. Does everyone have their passports? :thumbsup2 So many things to get ready still and time is going by so fast. It seems like summer just started and it's almost over. 64 days and counting! :cheer2:

I wouldl stay in Universal city, they have a lot of nice hotels near Universal Studios and Hollywood is just a jump away on the freeway :) Its a nicer area than staying on the Hollywood side of the hill but still close to cool stuff (well, close according to LA terms). Plus I think you and your kids will really enjoy Universal City Walk, lots of shops, movies, etc. :thumbsup2

Universal City is an area! It also has a Red Line Metro station. The Red Line has a day pass for around $5 for unlimited rides & connections. You can take this subway to Hollywood to see the Chinese Theater & then walk down to Hollywood & Vine. You can take it further in to Union Station (the end of the Red Line) it's a beautiful station. Once there you get to experience LA. You're in the heart of downtown. Directly across the street is an out door pavilion that is at the entrance to Olvera Street (the oldest street in LA). Lots of authentic food (mostly cheap) & hand made leather stuff to buy. Also, if you pay attention where you're walking, you'll find the oldest house in LA that you can walk through on a self guided tour for free! Back in Union Station you can board the Gold Line which will take you to our Chinatown (kinda cool but nothing compared to NYC).. Lots of other stops too.

This is what I do with my friends & family that come out of town. They love it.

I thought we did not need passports if we are US citizens..only state issued id and birth certificates?

I BELIEVE you are correct, as far as the US goverment goes. You are on a ship, leaving and returning to the same port so the docs you mentioned are all that they require. But, if something where to happen and you had to fly home from Mexico, S--t Happens, you would have to have a passport.
Because of this, DCL May require you have one. Call, first thing tomorrow, and check. You still have time to get one, if you have to - at a cost.
