October 2nd Mexican Riviera Cruise

Hi everyone!

I'm Sheri and I just booked our family on this cruise. We were scheduled for a different date on the Dream and had to change due to a schedule change in my school year.

This will be our 4th Disney cruise (2nd on the Wonder) and we are all thrilled to be joining you!

I'm sailing with DH-Pat, and our youngest son, Austin and his best friend, Lincoln, who will both be seniors in high school next year. Our oldest boy won't be joining us (much to his dismay!)-He'll be stuck at school.

I'm not sure if we've cruised together......we've cruised on the Wonder in Nov. '05, an Eastern in January of 2007, and another Eastern in October of 2009, both on the Magic. Any similar to you?

We'll probably stay at the VGC for a night before the cruise, though I haven't made that reservation yet. It took me over 2 hours this morning to find a cruise with availability during the times we could go.

I can't wait to do some planning and get familiar with the cruisers!

I hope that you will get a reservation for VGC. We will be staying there both before and after the cruise. We have been to Disneyland three times previously, but this will be the first time that we will stay onsite.

It just occurred to me that I have referred to magnets in the past, but that his does not necessarily make sense to everybody as we have a number or first time cruisers or cruisers that are new to DCL on this cruise. So here is a quick rundown.

The stateroom doors on DCL are metal and it is kind of a DISboards tradition to decorate the outside of your door. The only decorations that are allowed are magnetic ones as everything else would damage the paint on the door.

It took me until my 4th cruise to get magnets for my door, but this is now an important part of the planning process for me. It also helps you find your cabin. Here are some photos of door decorations from past cruises:

We've booked three cabins for the 10-2-11 MR Wonder cruise. Six adults, two kids, we've got three nights in Anaheim, then over to the ship. Corinna: I'd love to get in on the FE exchange and the Secret Mickey. This is our first Disney cruise, but we've cruised many times on other cruise lines. We're Disneyworld vets, but this will be our first time at Disneyland. We're planning to do the Halloween party on 9/30.

Sign me up to participate. My cabin is just the husband and I. No kids. The other cabin occupants may be talked into it, but it's just the two of us so far.

My DH and I are scheduled to be on this cruise. I haven't made final payment yet as I am going back and forth about airline cost. This would be our third cruise. We did the EBTA back in April2010 and an earlier one in Sept 09 with 4 of our kiddos.

I am wondering if someone from "my coast~make that the east)" who maybe travels more then I knows what/where I should be looking for good airline rates? And what that would be per person? I'm questioning traveling cross country for just a 7 day cruise and yet having to pay same as our flights from Barcelona last year!

Once I know if we are really going to come along I will sign up for everything. I love getting a new FE every time and doing secret Mickey as well.

Just stopping in tonight to lurk a bit, hope to hear back from anyone with more knowledge then me!

PS I got a piece of mail from DCL about Itinary change about a week ago. Cabo is two back to back days. with one sea day before we return to LA and two sea days up front before the other port which I can not remember right now! So no Mezatlan anymore.

Love this FE! My first one ever had almost as many pockets and did not touch the floor! DH and I shared a pocket and each of our four kids had their own. And there was a substantial header on ours as well. Yours looks good to go!

I hope that you can figure out the air fare thing. We have yet to get ours, but we are coming all the way from the UK.

We did both Puerto Vallarta and Cabo on the Panama Canal Cruise in January and had a wonderful time in both ports. I am really happy about the two days in Cabo as there are a couple of different things that we want to do in Cabo and now we can. Mazatlan never appealed to us.

Welcome. I hope things work out for you. We booked our flight early March, round trip from Kentucky to LA for $550 each (including trip insurance). We booked through Orbitz so if there is a price drop they will refund us the difference. I hope this works into your budget.

I cheated and bought our FE on E-Bay. I am to busy freakin out over the gifts for the FE. I found out about the change in ports of call about a week ago.

Yes I did. Thanks. I got the appliqué designs from a gal on etsy. It was lots of fun, but lots of work! Totally worth it! I've had my embroidery machine for a couple of years and it has taken me til now to figure out how to use the software.

I must say I have never done FE before and I am extremely intimidated by the craftiness and creativity of the DIS Family. It is a bit frightening.

I'm a bit intimidated, too! Last time we cruised many of the gifts we received were specialties from where people came from. One lady was from Maine and gave maple sugar candy (Yum). I enjoyed those gifts just as much as the others! Either way, have fun! This is supposed to be fun. That will be my mantra until I figure out what to do!

Well maybe if I had read the earlier posts more carefully, I would've caught the port of call change!! We spent the last week moving into a new house so life has been blowing by me for a bit!

I hope that everybody has a nice holiday weekend. We have a three day weekend this week in the UK as well, but as my office is open every day of the year, I have to work tomorrow. Still, I get an extra vacation day for that so it is all good.

I think I pretty much have my costume for pirate night sorted now. I had the dress for a while, but was stumped with the accessories. I suppose watching the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film yesterday inspired me. I decided to get a belly dancer wrap as belt and I found this really cute hat on Etsy:

I have not ordered it yet, but I think I will. So now I need some boots, but I need some boots anyway so that is not really an added expense. I think I will check in town later.

On Tuesday I will pay off the balance of the cruise and then it is not long until I can start booking Palo and our excursions.

My Husband has returned from two weeks away with the army only to surprise our girls with a trip to Australia's capital, Canberra.We will be away in the cold for a weekend and all i can think of is SUN!!
I see the itinerary has changed. We are happy to have the extra day in Cabo so works for us.
The girls are counting down. so am I as we leave Brisbane not long after my birthday in September.
I am happy to see more people have joined in the FE's. Corrina you have been a very busy lady and can't wait to see what you have come up with for the FE and other goodies.
Hope you had fun in Dubai sounds amazing.
Well back to studies for me while the kids aren't around I may finish it!!!
