I managed to finally get an iPad2 today. They only had the 16GB WiFi version in white, but that was fine by me. This is going to make packing for vacations so much easier. Up to now, I used to pack a laptop or netbook, my eReader and my iPhone so that I could make notes for my trip reports on the run. So that always takes up significant space in my carry on. Now I just have to take one piece of equipment as the iPad will do the job of all three. All I need to get now is the photo adaptor. I can’t wait to have a proper play with this tomorrow.

I also managed to find the last element for my Pirate costume this morning. I had been thinking in terms of boots, but could not find anything that I both liked and that fit. However, I saw this really cute pair shoes and they just said Pirate to me:

They were a bit of a bargain as well and I can wear them to work, too. Now I just need to sort out my accessories and I will probably make them myself.

I have an IPad. I Absolutely love it. I take it everywhere. I refuse to put work on it. It is for play only. You will have lots of fun with it.

Yes, my iPad is definitely my toy. Graham can't understand why I want one. I set up the WiFi connection to our home network tonight as well as my email and downloaded a few apps (Facebook, Kindle, iBooks and the app for a chess site I play on). Tomorrow I will think it with my computer to get my music and hopefully my existing ebooks transferred to the iPad.

I use it for my reader. I use Nook, it is great There are some great apps out there. I've had mine for almost a year. I have a lot of movies on mine. I keep my music on my IPhone, it saves memory.

I really love the Kindle up. I downloaded a number of ebooks onto it yesterday and will have to stock up further before our vacation.

Hi All! I hope I'm not imposing. :flower3: I'm not on your cruise but MR 3 weeks later. There doesn't seem to be very many DISers going that week, our cruise thread is not very active. I wanted to know what dining rotation you guys would suggest if I wanted to be in PC for Pirate Night and Triton's for formal night? :confused3

:worship::worship::thanks::worship::worship:

By the way totally jealous! Looks like you've got a great group!

Hi everyone,

It is my nephew's 4th birthday next week so Hannah is now on a real countdown.
She knows that she is next and we will be cruisin' with the Big Cheese himself!!
Now I have to get organised with the FE Gifts.
I am working hard and trying very hard not to get to excited cause I need to focus on my work and studies. Have been doing Bikram yoga classes to be ready for the feasting that goes on!!! Love good food especially when it is cooked by someone else.

Well I better get back to my studies and house cleaning as I will be busy over the next few days.

Talk soon

No problem at all. We are happy to have you as an honorary cruise meet member and are happy to help. We do have a wonderful group here and I can't wait until I see everybody in person.

To answer your question, if we work on the assumption that the theme nights fall on the same nights as during the spring cruises, then PTA would be the best rotation. This would have you in Triton's for Formal Night (night 2), Parrot Cay for Pirate Night (night 4) and Animator's Palate for Semi-Formal Night. I really like Semi-Formal Night at Animator's Palate. (Night 6).

Actually, I had not considered requesting a rotation this time round, but I need to contact my travel agent anyway about something else and the more I think about this, the more it would suit us. It is DH's birthday on night 5 and I am hoping to get dinner at Palo that evening. This rotation would put us in Triton's for the rotational menu on that night and the rotational menu at Triton's is our least favourite menu (with the exception of dessert). This would be result all way round. I would miss the Grand Marnier souffle, but as I am not overly keen on the dessert choices at Palo and could never understand the hype about the Chocolate Souffle, we could have our appetizers and entrees up there and then join our table mates for dessert at Triton's.

You sound incredibly busy. I can't believe that in less than 4 months we will be on the Wonder.

As to Fish Extenders, there is plenty of time yet. The cut off date is not for another 2 months and until then, things are likely to change quite a bit. I am hoping that I can finish the last of my individual gifts today, but I have not even started on the cabin gifts yet.

Well, over the weekend I had confirmation that two families will no longer be joining us. That brings the number of families with question marks over them down to 3. I am going to send out some more PMs sometime this week and hopefully I can then either confirm them or cross them off my list.

When does everybody get to do their reservations. What are you hoping to book?

My turn will be June 19th and I am hoping for Brunch, Dinner and High Tea at Palo plus the Marietas Island Snorkelling and Kayaking Tour at Puerto Vallerta, the Dolphin Trainer for a Day excursion for me and the Sea of Cortex Snorkelling experience for Graham at Cabo.

Corinna, thank you so much! :worship: That helps a ton. My DH birthday is on the night 3. Now, if only Aug. 8th would get here so I can book Palo! :rolleyes1

Our window opens July 4th. We really just want Brunch at Palo. I am not certain what if any excursions my husband will be able to do due to health issues.

Hi Corinna,

We are still in, but we may be bringing a different buddy for Austin. I will keep you posted.

We are in the group the can make reservations for excursions on the 4th. We would like to zip line in Puerto Vallerta, and do a resort beach/pool day and the snorkel/kayak excursion on the days in Cabo.

We are getting our first taste of spring weather! It snowed on us the day before my Kindergarteners graduated at the end of May! Our oldest son has been in the Eastern US going to school and it's been 100+. He'll be home late next week and we can't wait!

I hope everyone is enjoying their week! Corinna, let us know how your reservations go!

Sheri

Wow, you are braver than I am. I have heard from a number of people that zip lining is a lot of fun, but I am not very good with heights and therefore could never do this.

We did the whale watching, snorkelling and sea kayaking excursion in Puerto Vallarta during the Panama Canal cruise and that was amazing. They are offering the same excursion minus the whale watching in October and we are planning to do this again.

Two of our table mates did the Sea of Cortez Snorkelling experience in Cabo and loved it. I would not be able to do this as you have to sign a form stating that you are not allergic to bee and wasp stings. Unfortunately I am. Apparently there can be jellyfish.

I just found out that on the spring MR cruises, the same restaurant was repeated on the 2nd and 3rd night. So the rotation PTTAPTA would mean that you would be in Triton's for both Formal and Semi-formal night and in Animator's Palate for Pirate night. TAAPTAP would mean Animator's for both Formal and Semi-formal night, but Parrot Cay for Pirate Night. This is such a shame. If we get our requested rotation then we would now miss the Parrot Cay rotational menu, which is my favourite, if we end up eating at Palo for Graham's birthday. Never mind, I am sure I will have many more opportunities to enjoy this menu.

Awww, bummer! :sad2: Corinna what's the difference between the regular menu and the the rotational menu? With the above rotations it looks like I wouldn't be able to get Tritons for Formal night AND Parrot Cay for Pirate night?

Corinna--Thanks for all the info you're sharing--it's particularly helpful to us novices! I am surprised to hear that our count is dwindling. I'll be anxious to see the updated roster!
