Hi fellow hall monitors

Just to say I have seen the email off Kevin, but at the minute it looks too frightening to read!

I have a spare 2 minutes most days to catch up and have a cuppa before I'm back up my ladder with my paintbrush :sad2:

Whenever I see a page long email full of instructions I just want to hide under my duvet til it goes away :rotfl:

I havent been back on yahoo since I logged on the first time and then tried again and forgot my password :guilty: . I sorted it out (eventually) but I havent been brave enough to go back on yet. Sorry! - I'll try to pluck up the courage (and time) tomorrow.

ps - 1001 posts :goodvibes

WoooooHooooo - I just did it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I'd have a peep at that email and guess what -

I uploaded a photo to Yahoo, then another and another! - it couldnt be easier!

I think we need a running theme, so if you have a photo of you on the Buzzlighter ride then add it!

I am soooo proud of myself - just call me a technical wizard :wizard: :lmao:

Wait til the next thing we have to try - I'll be wailing like a banshee crying " I cant do it :badpc: "

I'm off to celebrate my technical skills with a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit :wave2:

PrincessMom, your info is up on the Who's Going Page now, just waiting on a photo when you're ready!

So...Hall Monitors....when do the rest of us get a peep at the Yahoo site??? :rolleyes1

The principal says we have to play alone until all the hall monitors have passed their exams. :teeth:

Thanks Timon! I wanted to catch you before the baby comes and runs you ragged, sleep-deprived, yet blissfully happy! Now if I can just find a picture of us together. I'm always the one taking pictures............... :confused3

Nancy,

I haven't seen anything either unless it was all in the original email from Kevin.

I will reread it tonight to see if I missed anything.

Jeff

P.S. I was looking at the sight today. Chuck and I share the same b-day. :cake: :bday:

Yeah, we hit 1,000 post over 68 pages and we have 11 months and 1 week until we sail.

I sail in 2 months from today and that thread is at 282 posts on 19 pages. I guess I could blame myself for that also since I haven't posted over there since mid summer. Just haven't connected with that group.

Anyone else not connect with other DISers on one of their cruises?

is there anyone on the thread who's taken both a 4-nighter and a 7-nighter? And who can offer opinions as to which is better?

I'd rather do a 7-night cruise but my parents want to do 4-nights. So I told them to go ahead and do the 4-night but they want us to go, too. Shocking, isn't it?

We just aren't convinced that a 4-night Disney cruise is the best use of money and we like having 7 nights on the Magic...gives you time to settle in and get your sea legs, arrrrr.

Anyway, was just curious if anyone had any opinions or thoughts they could share.

Thanks!

B.

Good morning everyone

Well, I have finally come downm from my ladder :Pinkbounc .

Painting is all finished and it looks good :cool1:

The email was how to download a photo to Yahoo thats all. I just got excited cos I managed to do it! - sorry if I caused a panic! - I'm sure no-one has been expelled! :rotfl:

Lindy - yes! - thank you so much - Ellis got his badge - I did reply but maybe you missed it. He took the postcard to school with him and his badge was on his coat. He thought it was really cool that Peter Pan knew his address :thumbsup2

Brenda,

Other than 7 nighters, we only have done a 3 nighter, not a 4. However, I can tell you that I feel the extra day would be better and it is at sea. DW will go any way she can.

I look at the price for both. 3 to 4 nights usually come up around $450-$550 per night (for the 3 of us). 7 nights that we've been on come up around $325-$425 per night.

The downside to the 4 nighter is that it leaves on Sunday and comes back Thursday. You will already burn 4 days vacation for it, one more day and you could do the 7 night. I wish they'd put some 4 nighters over a weekend (other than a holiday because cost would sky rocket).

Sorry it is not a clear answer.

Jeff

p.s. You could always do a 7 nighter, stay 1 night in PC, and then board the Wonder on Sunday for 4 nights. That would give you 11 nights on a DCL boat.

Thanks Jeff. Jay and I would love the 11 night idea it's my mom that is having issues.

7 nights was too long for WDW and 7 nights is too long for a cruise.
She said, "what am I going to do for 7 nights on a ship?"

And when Jason and I gave her about twenty different options (none of which were gambling) she said that she wouldn't be interested in any of them.

To which I replied, "Then what are you going to do for 4 nights on a ship?"

Ahh, parents. You gotta love 'em.

Brenda,

If getting her on for 4 nights, or even 3 nights, to get her feet wet may be worth it. She'll see how much she loves it and will want to go for more nights.

Now here is a great compromise for you. You and Jason go for the one week, have her fly down on the Saturday you get off the Magic, got to the airport and pick her up and then get on the Wonder on Sunday. You and Jason get 11 nights and your DM gets 4. You could then top it off with 3 nights in WDW after it. :thumbsup2

Good luck.

Jeff

Jeff what a great suggestion. I would love to do that, what fun!!

Brenda as you know, we have only ever done a 4 night. The 3 night schedule just seemed too rushed for us. I think a 4 night was good for us, to see if Elouise and Wayne would like cruising, but after 2 hours we all knew we loved it and wished we could have made the 4 nighter into at least a 7 nighter, if not more! & nights is more econimical , per day than the shorter cruise.

As you are quite honest about how your mum can be a bit "fussy" putting it nicely :teeth: I think if you did a 4 nigh cruise with her, you could "induldge her" and do what she wants, the 7 nighter would be all about what you and Jay want! :thumbsup2

For Gaming, remember there is a casino at The Atlantis, so that would give her something she likes. :cheer2: Plus its cheap and easy to get to ( $4 each way in a mini bus taxi)

Nancy, I ve been re reading this thread as my PC went a bit weird ( thats how I missed Karens reply about the badge) I bet you think ive lost my manners, not thanking you for the discount ticket and parking permit. :guilty: I really thought I had said thanks to you ( I KNOW I typed it :confused3 ) anyway it was wonderful. Being able to park close by was a life saver at the end of the night. And a couple of times we were soooo pleased, as we could just leave Ellie asleep in the buggy and walk to the car, rather than folding the buggy up, taking her out first of course! :rotfl2: and getting the tram. Which was packed!
The discount card we used once and paid in cash, no questions asked. Though I did look VERY VERY guilty!

On this subject, we saw a man getting "arrested" at WDW for stealing, by plain clothed cops. Also in Universal we saw a family group ( from the UK, im afraid to admit) who told their 5 and 8 yr olds, to take what they want and put in their pockets. I was soooo shocked ,we watched them steal about 8 magnets and pens...... I went to get a staff member who said, they couldnt do anything about it ??? :furious: I was so mad, as they left I said in a loud voice " I think your kids have forgotten to pay" the Dad, gave me a dirty look and the group walked off, still with all the stuff. Elouise was really sad that day, cos sge was $5 short for a toy she wanted. I was trying to be strict and teach her to budget, but when she Said they stole mumy and thats really bad, even if you REALLY REALLY want something. I was so proud of her, I explained I would give her the $5, for being a good girl. Honestly, you try and bring them up well, but she just saw the other kids have about $50 of stuff!

Linda,
I am doing ok, thanks for asking! About 2 weeks to go now...trying to get everything all done but I seem to be running out of time since I get so tired now, I don't feel very productive lately :rolleyes1

Brenda,
We originally thought of doing a 4-day back in 2002 but got such a great deal for the 7 night so ended up with the 7 day. I remember thinking on that cruise on the 4th day, that there's NO WAY I would want to get off the ship now, I was just finding my groove. The only way I would do a 4 day now is if I was really desperate for a cruise and we couldn't do a 7 day time-wise. If we weren't about to have a baby, we would be booked on the repo cruise to the Med, 2 weeks on the Magic, sigh :cloud9:

Jason's suggestion is that we all go ahead and take the 7-night cruise and just drop my mom off at Grand Cayman on day 4 (permanently). :lmao:

I kinda like the idea of a 7-nighter followed by the 4-night and then just going home. I guess I could suffer through that. ;)

we did the 4 day cruise twice. the first time was for our 25th anniv. and we had never cruised before so we thought we should do the 4 night. we loved it so much we brought our daughter back the next year, again on the 4 night.(she got sea sick)
after that 2nd cruise we decided the 4 night just wasnt enough time so in 2005 we did the 7 nt. it was just so much more fun for us. more relaxing.
HEY CASS,,, will moose and wife be joining you on this cruise?

Boy, I'm with Jason on that one. My MIL would be lucky to get back on the boat after Key West if I had anything to do with it. :rotfl2:

I looked at the Cat 6 pricing for our cruise (2 adults) and it is coming up at $3,230 without transfers or insurance. The 4 night right after we get back is coming up at $1,767 for 2 adults, again w/o xfers or insur. It is actually cheaper per night on the 4 nighter.

Now you could save more $ by going with just ocean view (Cat 8) instead of a Cat 6 on the 4 nighter. You figure you just had the 7 nights with the verandah, don't really need it for 4 more. Surprisingly, that is only $120 less.

Now there is an SPH available (5020) that is only coming up at $1,267. That is a cheap add on for 4 more nights. Let your parents spend their money for the cat 8. Or convince them to go for the Cat 6 and just use their verandah. Just don't let Jason near your DM when she's by the rail. :lmao:

Look at the best deal in this, you get 2 days at CC. :cool1:
