Well, I believe I am heading to bed to read about our new digital camera! Our other one did not do well at all in low light conditions and this one a friend has and does a great job. So hopefully we will like it.

Rachel, did you talk to Olivia today? She sent Alex a message about you. She is very excited to get to know you too.

Very cool drums. I would love to do that.

It was a super workshop. They spent the morning with the history of the drum and the importance and rituals that the drums brought to the tribes. Then they made the drum stick and it is all a chosen process...finding the right skins, sticks, etc that "feels" right for you.

Then they had a drumming circle so they could feel what the drums are meant to bring to you and hear and learn how to play them. Then they were saged to clear any negativity etc. Mother Earth was thanked for the skins and the wood and the tools she provided.

Then they had lunch... a shared pot luck type to bring everyone together.

Then I got there. hahaha Missed lunch. That is ok.. most of them are vegatarian and some of that tofu or veggie crumble stuff is not my favorite.

So then we began making the drums. Oh my hands hurts so bad. You have to pull the wet rawhide so tight and then tie knots. You use plyers to help and someone has to hold it flat. You tie 32 knots on each drum then you wrap the handles as well. Neither of the boys could manuever the ties and Mary was not strong enough to pull and tie. So my hands are a bit swollen right now as I tied all 3 drums.

But the experience was amazing really. Now we wait for a week or so for them to dry completely then we will join the same group for a drum circle.

Thanks for the movie list Steve. With the exception of Pirates, I haven't seen any of those. I was actually thinking of getting the motorcycle one for my IPOD, to watch on the plane, but I think I will get something else. I do want to see the one with the Rock in it, that one looks good by the commercials.

No prob. Definately see wild hogs. That was the hardest I have laughed in a long time

33?????

i hope :woohoo:

Hi everyone! I thought I'd put in our info, too, even though we won't be fortunate enough to be cruising with all of you. If you happen to see Jason or me wandering around (especially Epcot) with silly, tipsy smiles on our faces please stop and say hello. We're harmless and I'm half-blind so I might actually look right though you unless you "get up in my face." ;)

This is probably my last post here - lots to do in the next two weeks before we leave and there's a lot going on outside of the house lately, too. It's been a pleasure being a part of this group since waaaaay back in June 2006 and I'm sorrier than you know at not being to able to meet so many of you and drink some others of you under the table (you know who you are!). You have our best and warmest wishes for a fabulous cruise - we look forward to seeing pictures and reading all about it once you're all back home.

Brenda and Jason :goodvibes

Have a great time guys! we'll miss you!

So we could stay at one of them and the park in one of the parking structures?

Sure. We stayed at the Hyatt one year (got it through priceline). It was just a short drive down Harbor. We drove to the park every day, but they did have a shuttle.

susan my mom just informed me of your childrens plans to not sleep on the cruise

i think i will give it a shot with them!

the 600 and something hours really isnt enough time!

im sure Cass is up for it too!

Yes they are ready to not sleep.... You may as well join them. After so many hours of not sleeping, people get silly like drunks. That could be funny.

Congrats on getting the 33000!

we have stayed at All Star Music (2), Sports (1). Both were great. comfortable and convenient.

thats sounds like a job for UNDERDOG!!
"lucy, you got some spainin to do" :rotfl2:

It is all fixed now!!! Yeah! While we were gone he came by and fixed it. Left me a note saying, "Next time, don't fix it, just call me." hahahaha

What a nice ex-husband huh?

our first cruise in 2001 we sat with a couple who didnt tip the servers. and the servers were great!! we were sooooo mad at them.(she said she thought it was included but we knew better)

OMG... HOw did you know they didn't tip? I can't imagine someone not knowing. Truthfully, I can't recall how much we tip each one but I know I have it somewhere.... I'm not as prepared as Carrie... I love that about her though. I think life would be so much easier if I were that prepared.

You will understand me on this. Scott thought I was crazy. Here goes..........We ate out for lunch today and I ordered a hamburger Plain. It came and when I checked it you could tell they had put cheese on it and just scraped it off before bringing it to me. I told the waiter that I couldn't eat it. He was very nice and took it back and took it off the bill.......but I always feel so bad about being that picky. But oh well...there was no way I would eat it.
If you eat junk together you probably think I am crazy and too demanding. Not really demanding just too picky.

I don't think you are too picky. If you order it that way, it should come that way or they should make it right. I think the ones that order something and then when it comes say...oh i didn't know it had cheese on it, take it back... are the ones that are irritating.

For our Alaska trip it was DH and myself. We sat at a table with 3 other couples. None of us tipped the server, the ast. server or the head server. They were all pretty stinking. It was something discussed by the couples prior to dinner to see if we all felt the same way about the service and we did. Things were horrible on that one. But we did tip the "mint" guy, he was outstanding.

Now speaking from experience the servers do make a decent weekly wage. That most of them send home to family or save because they really can not spend it on the ship. Their tips however are split. So if you tip the server it is split between the server, the dishwashers, and the cooks. In my opinion $25.75, which is the suggested tip is not enough to split with 3 people. We normally go with the base amount set aside and then tip extra if the service is worth it. We always tip the room people extra.

Now the housekeeping people do split their tips with the people behind the sceance that wash the linen.

I didn't know that. That is good to know. I also thought that their only wage was their tips. (No one told me that...I just thought it. What about the people that are over our kids at the camps? Do you tip them at all or bring gifts etc?

The last night, they told us they weren't tipping. She made some excuse like... we thought it was included.

We said, No it wasn't. So the next morning we gave them our tips and they said they weren't going to tip.

She thought it should be included.
