Yes...we definitely will save money, especially with 4 kids! But our original week is sooooo much better for us for lots of school/work reasons. The ADR's are definitley not main reason I'm hoping to keep it the way it is. I just hate to lose them after all that work planning, especially if there's a chance I can keep the week.

The only other thing I didn't mention at first, is that I kindof had a similar scenario a couple of years ago for our first Disney trip. Changed my week for public offer....ended up getting a PIN...switched back and lost ADR's. All of that happened when we were about a month closer to our trip than I am now. Guess that's why I'm holding out hope.

Still, I guess it's a chance either way. But, I really don't think I'm double booking as none of the dates overlap and I absolutely plan to free those ADR's up in plenty of time for someone else to use them.

The CM's I talked to said that they are confident itll go GP in the next month or 2

The CM I talked to today thinks they may go in the next few weeks. I called today to see if a AAA discount was available for my stay at the WL villas, she told me no, but to call back for a discount in the next few weeks.

With all of the buzz about FD - especially being available the week we didn't expect (Garner Symposium), I went ahead and tweaked our schedule. I needed to change our park days and that required changing several ADRs. I didn't want to be stuck without the ones I want when/if FD is announced to the public.

I still got everything I wanted although the Mama Melrose pkg is a bit earlier than I would prefer - oh well, more park time before Fantasmic after dinner.

I am new to this whole discount pin thing.....how/where do you get them?? trying to book my big 40 in Oct and pin would be great we need 2 rooms...

Well sometimes they send them if you go register at the offical Disney web site make sure to check the box that says to receive emails from them. Then go and look for some prices on resorts for your dates and save the quotes, order the free DVD and custom maps. Some have gotten pins that way in their email and sometimes in regular mail. I have done all of the above and have not gotten any. It may be because the dates that I saved for my vacation quotes were black out days in October when they may not have any discounts that week. The week we will be going is October 14th week. So far no luck except my daughter registered at Disney and saved some quotes and she did get a 10% off for our dates. So it probably depends on if they will be offering discounts the dates you will be going.

I'm pretty sure you should be able to get some sort of discount for those dates. If they do not send you a pin there should be a public discount or free dining come out sooner or later for your dates.

We have ressies for 10/17 to 10/24-----did you get a pin for that time period?--DH wants the FD---we got a great room discount, but the FD will save us more---Should I call and ask, or wait for a GP announcement? I got the room discount when I called and made the ressies WAY back, haven't gotten a pin or code in years.

Nope no General Public FDing yet...just PIN code emails but you could call and ask some ppl have had that work for them to get FDing

No from what others said on the dates for that week the free dining wont start until October 19th If you can start your vacation day on the 19th that would work. Unless they change it because they are not filling enough rooms. My daughter did get a 10% off pin for that time period but thats not hardly enough for us.
