October 2012 Code Watch!!!

We want to go around the 2nd week of October, 2012.
I sure hope there will be some kind of discount!!! :worship:

My oldest is enrolling in college so this will be the first year we've had to work our vacation around a school schedule in a long time (we homeschool). I'm thinking he'll have a break the 3rd week in October. We usually go the last week of September and love F&W Festival and MNSSHP but this year it was really too hot for us so we decided to move it in to October anyway.

So is there anything we should know about October? Are there any big groups that go that week? Is it really crowded? And is there usually any discount released for those dates? We usually take advantage of free dining, but this years bounceback only had booking dates through September 27th, so we didn't book.

Count me in too!!! :) We're planning for October '12... haven't booked yet, but the dates we're thinking of are 10/12-10/21! One year away, but ready to pay that deposit down so I can officially start planning! lol It will be me dh, ds11, ds8 & my Dm.

My Mom has breast cancer & begins treatment next week for 6 weeks. Our October trip next year will be a 1st year survivor celebration for her!!! This trip gives us all something to look forward to :)

Hoping to talk dh into a short April B-Day trip for me in '12!! ;) We'll see about that one.

Hoping to stay at POR in October, some great discounts would be awesome!!! Can't wait to see those refurbed rooms!

Happy Planning!!

Jumping in here! DD's school just released the schedule for next year, and she gets two weeks of for fall break..DH says it's time for a trip to the World! Hoping for a good resort discount to pop up soon.

LaDonna, sending hugs to your mom....I just celebrated my 2-year survivorship for breast cancer. Tell her to hang in there and stay tough.

I am in the process of planning our 1st ever disney vacation for Oct 2012.

I would really love so discount code.

We are looking at 5 nights at POR, and would love a FD code.

I love all the information I have collected from this board. :)

We are going to Disney in October 2012 also and can not wait!!! Soooo hopefull for a great discount....last year we got 40% off our room every night that would be sooooo nice again...here's to wishing!!!!:worship:

Well I went ahead and called about a AAA Room Only rate.

I want to spend a couple of days at WDW in Oct. Do some Food and Wine Festival and head over to Uni for a day to see Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I was really thinking BC again but the rates at POFQ were just too good and I really did enjoy my solo stay there this year.

Went ahead and booked it but hope some really great rate comes up to either drop this down even more or to bring BC down enough to make it reasonable.

Glad I have a thread to keep me company on the wait.

We are going early Oct 2012. Just curious how do you know the black out dates?

we are planning on the 6th-13th. We are restricted with flights so it will be a sat flight down and back. DH and DS have never been to WDW nor been on a plane before. So this will be a vacation of many firsts for both of them. Anyways...I am really hoping for free dining. The goal is to book in Jan or Feb once the 2012 school calendar is posted since this year DS had off Mon and Tues this week, this year. So he will only miss 3 days of 2nd grade. We shall see. Hoping to stay at caribbean resort and paying for a perferred room. Wishing for extra pixi dust to us all for great discounts.:wizard:

40% off or free dining would make me so happy! It'll be my honeymoon, I deserve a great deal, don't I?! :rotfl:

Usually Columbus weekend is blacked out. Also, the past two years there have been tour groups during that second week of October. The remainder of the month is usually a great time to visit.

Planning an Oct 2012 trip with my two best girlfriends, and really hoping for a discount of some kind--we want to do deluxe dining! (no kids, no husbands, just food and wine for us!). Even a Military room only discount would help a lot since I am a military dependant and the current discount ends Sept 30. Does anyone know if I book to arrive the 29th or 30th if the discount holds through the whole week?

We are going at the end of October next year. I love MNSSHP and the weather is usually nice with smaller crowds then other times I have been. We are hoping for a FD code. :)

We are going October 14 to the 21st. A friend and her family are coming with us this time...it is their first visit...I hope they know what they are getting into with me;)

Planning to go back to Pop for fall break 2012. Once the school schedule for next year comes out I will have definite dates. Really need a discount to help out :worship:
