October 2012 Code Watch!!!

When booking a package the deposit is $200, with the balance due 45 days from arrival (though you can pay in installments up to that point, it doesn't have to be a lump sum at 45 days). I think if it is a room only reservation the deposit is one night's stay.

My husband and I are planning our first family trip with our daughters who will be 11 and 7 next October. I am waiting to see what discounts will be offered during the week of Columbus day. *fingers crossed*

I have so many questions and don't even know where to begin. I haven't been to WDW since 1979...yes, I said 1979! I was four years old. :rotfl2:

Can someone tell me what we need to do when booking as far as payment goes? Do we pay in full or put a certain percentage down? Thanks in advance!

:tink:Welcome to the boards!

I just received a Free QS Dining Pin that's valid for all of 2012 up until 12/21 with the normal blackout dates (I only checked Easter and Thanksgiving time honestly). Since we always stay deluxe the room discounts always end up saving me more money, however something is better than nothing. If there are no room discount bouncebacks in my room after we return from our vacation I'll be calling Disney to at least lock in on some sort of discount for next year's surprise trip!

Is it Free QS at all levels of resorts? Value, Moderate and Deluxe instead of as in the past QS at Values and DDP at Moderate and Deluxe.

TIA

Yes, it's free QS across the board, however you can upgrade the dining to either the regular or deluxe if you'd like and they charge the difference

I just recieved a RO pin :cool1:in the Disney Destinations email- It was located at bottom of email on right under my information about my upcoming trip. This is the second time I have recieved this type of email ( the one telling youabout the resort you "We’re so excited you’re thinking about staying with us atDisney’s Pop Century Resort......")the first time I deleted it this time I read it ..and I am soooo glad that I did!!!

It is good for selected dates from 1/1/2012-12/31/2012 and must be booked by 12/24/2011

Hi everyone! Just got a "pin" emailed to me for up to 35% off a Disney Resort stay! However, it is only from January 1 - March 31, 2012 :sad1: UGH!!! I want one for October!!!!! Keeping my fingers crossed that I receive something!!!!!

so I got that code today too. In my email. Here is the uber weird part. my address on file is in AL but I got sent a CDN pin code. Weirder still is that when I called (after a bunch of questions) we came to realize that the pin code was in my Father in Law's name & address. They haven't been to Disney since 1982???

Also got the same code for Jan - March today...and also had a glitch. Mine was for another person w/ the same name as me in another state...with a different email, etc. I was so glad that I called and had things sorted out. I probably couldn't have used this code, but the past 4 or 5 times I've received a code the system has told me that my zip code was wrong.

That is so bizarre! I don't know if the cm I spoke to worked out any of the kink issues for me or not. The code wasn't for the dates we want to travel but I asked what would happen if I received another code, for the dates I wanted but it wasn't my name again. She said they would have to talk to another department but that hopefully upon explanation that I would be able to use it. Craziness.

Joining in! We're planning an early October trip, regardless of discount codes. This is going to be a "group" trip of sorts as we are going with several other couples - although we're not all staying in the same resort.
We're seriously considering purchasing an AP for the room etc discounts, knowing full well that takes us out of the free dining realm, but have made no decisions yet.

We are hoping for something in the last week of October. We are still trying to decide if we should wait it out or rent DVC points. Such a delema!

I'm also joining in! We are planning our honeymoon trip for sometime in October 2012:yay:!! So, of course we are making the trip anyway, but I would LOVE to get a deal of some sort either on room or dining plan to make things more affordable and maybe allow us to stay in a deluxe instead of mod resort:goodvibes.

We are going back oct 2012..we had no luck with a discount working for us this past oct 2011 trip..Hopefully we will have better luck 2012 subscribing

With the room only pin I recieved the cost for an 8day/7night stay @ ASM = $558.00-my question is can I get the DP later if my balance is paid in full prior to adding DP? TIA

I'm wondering if F&W is making October a demand month, and therefore, those of us going that month are out of luck getting any discounts.

I've booked my package through AAA, and I'm only getting a 10 percent discount off my room at the Contemporary. I'm probably getting some other discounts, and perks, but I'd still like the number to be a little lower. I'm hoping to book an inexpensive Wanna Get Away Southwest flight for the two of us as soon as the schedule is out.

My agent did tell me if I see any deals, to let her know, and she'll apply them, but seeing the popularity of October now, I'm not too hopeful.

We want to celebrate our anniversary at Disney, so don't want to change dates. And husband hates to travel, so only way I can get him to take this trip is booking him for the works, ie, Deluxe Dining, MK view, Contemporary, park hopper.

Ah, well, I guess you get what you pay for.

I've been reading about some of the bounce back offers that people have received recently. Looks like the discount does not include the middle two weeks of October. :headache: Looks like we made a good decision moving our trip up.

Subscribing!

You should be able to add a dining plan at any time. We were always able to make whatever changes we wanted. If you use the room only pin, you won't be able to get free dining also if that comes up, but when it does, you can price compare. The CM's can do it over the phone for you. We did a comparison between free dining for October 2010 and the gift card deal. Free dining worked out much better for us. The last two years there has been free dining during October for a good portion of the month, so I am hoping for the same in 2012. I got that same pin for room only, and I am not doing it! I want free dining! Free dining for 14 rocks!!!

Thanks Blackbeltdisneygirl for the info. I am still trying to decide if I want to pay OOP or pay for the DP.........so many choices
