We are blocked out, too. We leave the 10/24, and it doesn't start up that week til 10/23. If there aren't any room discounts, I think we'll be off.

I agree that the dates seem to be really random. Would F&W have any impact?

I know F&W and Conventions have the Epcot Resort pretty well booked up for the black out period, when I checked my dates which fall during that time

Do you need to purchase a 1 day base ticket or a 2 day base ticket per person to book this package?

If we travel and our dates are part included and part blacked out, what does that mean?

Can we get it for the dates that are included or will they be all covered or all blacked out?

When does the dining package expire after checkout? I want to book Wednesday - Sunday on a package that includes dining. On Sunday, I want to book a room only reservation (checing out Monday). My plane arrives late Wednesday night and I can not use the dining/ticket for that day, but I want to use it on Sunday (when I have the room only reservation booked). So if I activate the tickets on Thursday (our first park day), they should still work on Sunday (even though our package is technically from Wednesday - Sunday). However, if we are technically checking out on Sunday, can we use the dining from our package (again Wednesday - Sunday) on Sunday? In other words, we will have already checked out Sunday morning and want to use the dining package for dinner Sunday night (that was technically for Wednesday). But remember, we are checking in around 11:30 PM on Wednesday. So, we are only using that day as a hotel bed. Does this make sense and does anyone know the answer?

myhoney - If you are checking in on the 24th and free dining starts the 23rd then you should be all set. Now if you were checking in on the 22nd and free dining started the 23rd then you would have to make two separate reservations. One for a one night room reservation only and the second for the free dining. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I thought this is how it works.

I was running some numbers last night while watching "24" season 2 last night (so my math could have been a little off! )...

BUT...

A package at POFQ for 8 nights with 7 day MYW tickets is $2302.41

Getting the room and tickets separately through WDW is $2362.83

I thought packages didn't save you any money, but in this case it's saving $60.42.

Any ideas? What am I missing?

Package rates are set to run from January to December, and do not change if ticket prices increase. So you're looking at a "pre-ticket increase" price.

Ticket prices went up in June, so that's why buying them separately increased your price.

If you're not getting the dining plan, then I suggest getting your tickets from a discounter like Undercover Tourist (using the link in the Mousesavers newsletter saves even a few bucks more than buying directly from UT) and making a room only reservation.

The advantages to room only are that you don't have to pay 45 days out (you pay at check in) and you can cancel/modify without penalty up to 5 days before check in.

our dates aren't covered. Oh well...there is still a possibility of room discounts. I KNOW I read that people had PINs that covered 10/10/11-something, so I haven't lost ALL hope. We will still keep our QSDP even if we have to pay OOP for it. I hope lots of you can get in on the discount! Good luck!

I know some of you were asking why certain dates were blacked out....

It looks like mid October is normally a blackout period, so that seems logical. Also, not sure if anyone reading here is going in November, but I feel certain that 11-6 through 11-12 is blacked out because of Jersey Week. That usually falls during the first week of November, but this year the teacher's conferences were moved to the second week of the month. All the other weeks that are blacked out look like holiday weeks.

Now my question is if this info is accurate. I'd love to know where the OP for this offer got his info. Are you a TA or a CM? Just curious because some of us have a lot of money riding on this info being correct (if we choose to make changes based on what you've said that is).

I'm also wondering if the old rule about booking discounts still applies that allows your discount to run the entire length of your trip even if it extends beyond the offer period. For example, if we check in on Oct. 28th and leave on November 7th, are we covered under the FD promo for those last two days after the offer ends on Nov. 5th? Hope that made sense.

Also, what time can you start calling on Aug. 3rd to add the promo? Can you add it online or do you have to call?

Most of my dates are covered but looks like I will have to change and add a room only for 10/22 with pkg being 10/23-29. Crossing my fingers that there will be code availability for my first choice resort

Those are our dates too. SO aggravated right now. I conned (I mean convinced) DH into going again because I was so sure about FD during those dates. Uh oh. I hope we don't have to cancel.

Yes you will need two reservations and yes you will need to check in then out then in again. There is always the possibility that you may have to change rooms, some people have reported they did not have to but others have. Luck of the draw I guess.
