Hi, EVeryone!! We're back!!!
Boy, what a time we had. Thanks, Sherry, for posting for me.
We had rain for the first 5 1/2 days of our cruise. It literally felt like we were in a monsoon we were in Nassau. But, we were also on the biggest cruise ship in the world, so that helped alot.
The Allure of the Seas is an incredibly beautiful ship. They have what called 7 Neighborhoods, such as the Entertainment District, Central Park, Boardwalk, Sports Deck and more. The Boardwalk looks like an actual Boardwork that you might see in any city near the ocean. It had a carousal, Coney Island type hotdog stand, sidewalk games, cotton candy and ice cream vendors and such. Some of this was included with the purchase of the cruise, but there was alot that had to be purchased.
They have several specialty restaraunts, three of which we tired. Chops Grille and Giovanni's Table were pretty much on the level of Palo (almost) and the third one we ate at was 150 Central Park, which was sort of on the level of Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World.
I must say that most of our meals were very delicious and dare I say, even better than Disney.
The Allure also has rock climbing, zip-lining, ice skating, minature golf, several pools and hottubs and more. Sherry did the rock climbing and zip-lining twice. Me, no, not my idea of a good time. Like my feet on solid ground as much as possible.
The shows were wonderful especially Blue Planet and Ocean Aria. I can't even describe these shows. They are something that you must experience yourself.
I did manage to win the '70s Disco Music Trivia game!!! That was fun.
The Crusie Director on the Allure, Allan Brooks, has to be one of the best Cruise Directors I have ever had. He does the "Babbling Brooks Morning Show" at 6:00am every morning of the cruise to give you highlights of what's happening around the ship that day. He is HILARIOUS!!! All of the shows and events that he hosts during the cruise had us busting a gut more than once. His is very quick-witted and funny and just has a very charming and endearing quality about him.
As beautiful and big as the Allure is, I still would have rather have been on the Wonder or the Magic (haven't been on the Dream or the Fantasy yet). I don't know how exactly to describe the difference other than to say that Allure just has too much on it and I sometimes felt like I was at one of our malls. (We did see the Dream while docked at Nassau. How I wanted to jump ship

).
The best part of this trip for me, was sharing it with Sherry. We had an incredible time together. It made the rain seem not so bad. Thanks, Sherry, for inviting me on this cruise. It was so much fun and I know I would not have enjoyed it half as much if you had not been there.
