hehehehe - my girl friend and I are going on this cruise and cannot wait. It will be departing on my birthday (yay me!) and we plan on celebrating Neverland style! I've been on the Magic twice and am looking forward to the new ship! It seems to be so well laid out. Looking forward to meeting some of you there!!

I've read about family pool areas being small on both the Dream & Fantasy, my question is: how crowded do you think the family pool areas will be, considering we are traveling during "off peak" times. Have any of you cruised in Oct vs. a busier time i.e. (March, April, May, June, July)? I know you can't speak specifically to the Fantasy yet...but just curious overall.

Hi, Ellie, WELCOME ABOARD!!! Wow, yet another birthday to celebrate !!! My husband and I and traveling with a group of 13, only 2 who are under the age of 18. So, we plan to do quite a bit of the adult activities onboard. We ourselves don't have children, so you might be able to catch up with us some time.

Anyone have experience with these hotel packages? I found one through Courtyard Marriott Cocoa Beach- $240 total for hotel for the night before our cruise, transportation from airport to hotel, hotel to Port Canaveral and from port back to airport. This is for a family of 5.

Any input, advice, opinions will be well received

We've only stayed on Disney property or at the Hyatt. Sorry can't help you out.

So, should we start trying to set up cruise meets onboard, at the terminal, in the parks? Any ideas would be fantastic. With this being a new ship, I don't think that any of us will know what the best place to arrange to meet would be.

I do know that we should set up something at say 3:45-4:00 pm, as this will give everyone a chance to get onboard and a bit settled before the Lifeboat drill.

What say you?

Here is the thing. There really is no off season with DCL.. The ships sell out pretty much 99% of the time when you are talking Caribbean sailings. That is why the never go on sale. With that in mind, yes that area will be crowded. I've been on the Dream and spoken to folks on the Fantasy.

There will be times you will not want the kids in the pool it is so crowded. Those are the times you use the Aqua Duck or the new Water Feature area (I forget the name). You also want to plan your pool time for off hours with the kids. 11-4 is peak time. Maybe a swim right after dinner? Maybe an early morning swim?

Lastly, don't think of the cruise as a "pool cruise". There are so many other things to do on the ship with the kids that will really give you family time w/lasting memories. I would talk to the kids before you even board the ship that this isn't a pool cruise and your thoughts.

Nope, not at all!! We've been waiting for YOU! Welcome aboard! This is the party cruise. And we have another Eric to go along with the "extra" Brendas. Eric and I will have just celebrated our 5TH wedding anniversary. We married way late.

Anyway, we are going to be at the parks a few days before the cruise and staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, so we might catch up with you all.
