Julie: Glad to hear you got your driveway poured. I bet it looks so nice. I could bring a cheesecake to Brooke's party if you want me to. Just name your flavor!

Saw an intersting statistic on the news last night. In the month of May, it rained on 27 of the 31 days. I think the days it didn't rain were while we were in WDW.

I gotta go get started on my potato salad and making the bread.

Potato salad is in the fridge and bread is in the bread machine. It is a sundried tomato parmesan bread. It smells really good.

I forgot to mention the Jerry's parents dog died yesterday. She had been ill on and off but they couldn't quite figure out what it was. Well, she apparently had a tumor on her spleen and it ruptured. There really wasn't anything they could do by the time they got to the vet. She was a North American Huskie named Stephanie.

Also, I sent Jerry to the store this morning for more mayo and he came home with 10 pink roses for me. :love2: :flower3: plus the mayo.

Hi, everyone. It's been a busy week. The last of school is now over! Turner offically made it to the end of 4th grade! We had lots to do this week for end of year stuff and today was his belated birthday party. We had it at Laser Quest. I played one of the games with the kids and I came in 1st place!! That shocked me. Now Turner is swimming with a friend and we pick him up around 5:00. Then he has an appointment with a trainer at the YMCA to get started working on the fitness machines. He and Paul plan to work out a lot over the summer.

Enough about me and my clan.

Julie - glad to hear the driveway is in. Hope the baptism goes well. Give Brooke a big hug and kiss from us.

Denine - the park sounds nice. Kaleigh will enjoy those walks and the birds!

Sally - Paul and I need to shampoo carpets but can't seem to find the time. I bet yours doesn't really need it since you just got not too long ago.

Jeanne - if you happen to see this post before you leave for Nags Head, let me know when you are going back home. We will be in Chesapeake, Virginia on Friday - Sunday for a hockey tournament. Maybe we could meet for a short visit on your way back home if you have the time. I think you would drive close by it on your way.

Sandy - you can come to our house any time for a BBQ. We cook out several times a week since it is just too hot to cook inside everday in our heat.

Heidi - sure wish the foks in DC would decide soon for you to come out there again. I would love to raodtrip there to meet you.

Oh well. Stanley needs to go out and we have to pick Turner up in a little shile so I will sign off for now.

miss you all
Later!

 Hi guys. Just stopping in to say hello. We had a busy day doing nothing. it was kind of fun.

Julie, thank goodness that we all checked in. I am afraid that you would have gone even more crazy  talking to your self. Don't you just love the new cement? I was so protectivie over it for a long time. I didn't want anything to "stain" it. No Julie, no cheesecake delivery for you. That just wouldn't be fair!

Denine, it does sound yummy. Let me speak for Heidi....yes, she would love the recipe. :teeth:

Denine, ahhhh, you really did marry a sweetie! It must be love! Wasn't the bbq today? How did it go? Sorry to hear about Stephanie, poor baby!

Susan, been missing you. So glad that you found some time to check in. It is funny because just today I was thinking about YOU! I am waiting for the DC trip as well. Hang in there. Didn't the last time she said something she mentioned June? Thanks for the bbq invite! I wish it was that easy that we could all get together. I hope that someday we can all plan another meet either WDW or a cruise.

I emailed Darren, sent him a pm and also sent another email via the disboard. We will see if he responds. I did a search on him and I think the last time he posted was probably in April. Hope he is ok. Sure miss him.

Something horrible happened to Stacey the other day. She was headed up the mtns for a job interview and she was in the middle lane of an interstate and her car blew up. She couldn't see around her because of all the smoke. She got it to the last lane and then it died there and she couldn't get it started. She somehow got most of it on the shoulder. Anyway, it is a year old Ford Escape and it was towed to the dealership. They looked it over and found that a piece was missing in the engine. They don't know what to do so FORD is coming out to take a look at it. Isn't that scary that a PIECE was missing in an engine. Luckily the place that she was going to interview came to pick her up.

Heidi's dbf's (Chris) car just had a 1000.00 repair done to it. On Thurs my Suburban made a huge clunk and then it started making a noise. I didn't know what to do but drove it home. Ted took a look at it and found out that the same thing that happened to Chris happened to me. I was just soooo lucky that the piece that fell off got caught on a ledge and didn't do any other damage like Chris car. Everyone said that I was very lucky to have even made it home. Total bill to fix it.....34.00. WOW! Lucky me!!

Ted is downstairs watching a movie. Master and Commander. It didn't catch my attention. Guess I will go internet surfing. I was watching a cooking show and it had a recipe for Krispy Kreme bread pudding. Thought that I would go print out the recipe. See you all later.

Love you guys!

I found the recipe. I will post it here in case any of you want this low calorie ;) recipe.

2 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
1 can fruit cocktail (undrained)
2 eggs, beaten
1 (9-ounce) box raisins
1 pinch salt
1 or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Butter Rum Sauce, recipe follows

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cube donuts into a large bowl. Pour other ingredients on top of donuts and let soak for a few minutes. Mix all ingredients together until donuts have soaked up the liquid as much as possible.

Bake for about 1 hour until center has jelled. Top with Butter Rum Sauce.

Butter Rum Sauce:
1 stick butter
1 pound box confectioners' sugar
Rum, to taste
Melt butter and slowly stir in confectioners' sugar. Add rum and heat until bubbly. Pour over each serving of Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding.

Keep the car troubles out west. We sure don't need any here. Glad Stacey did not get hurt and I hope Ford replaces the entire car. Stay away from the KK Bread Pudding. I think I gained 2 pounds just reading the recipe!

Lots of housework to do today. Just didn't have time to do it this past week. Hate to do it all today but I have no choice. Turner has a friend staying over Wednesday night after hockey practice. So, I told him his room had to be spotless and he could help with the rest of the house too. He didn't complain - I was in shock.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday.
Later!

We always knew that Turner was a good kid!!

Sandy: Poor Stacey! Thank goodness she wasn't hurt. I hope Ford replaces the car.

Sue: Glad to hear from you. Glad everyhitng is fine in your neck of the woods.

It didn't rain for our cookout yesterday!!!!!! It looked a little chancey for a bit, but it passed over.

We have a showing today.

We saw a bald eagle from a distance flying at the new park. Someone with binoculars pointed it out to us.

Julie: We will be at Brooke's party, but we can't make it to the church. We are having an open house and have to get the house ready.

Sandy: The recipe sounds good, but I can't eat donuts. They upset my stomach.

Hi guys, I got an email from Darren!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: Just thought that I would copy it over here:

Hi Sandy & Ted,

It's great to hear from you! I have to say that I've been very bad and lazy not posting on the board for so long. I always seem to be so busy with one thing or another these days that I never seem to get round to it, but I know thats no excuse!

Yes, I'm still going on the October 23rd cruise and I've even found someone to come with me! I am going to be bringing along a friend who I actually met while waiting in a very long line for pins about a year ago at the Disneyland resort in CA. Her name is Rachel, and she actually works at Disneyland as a Guest Relations Cast member at the Disneyland Hotel and Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. She is mad on Disney Cruises but only has done 1 before (the 7 night Eastern) so I thought it would be great to invite her along. I have already warned her about the crazy Dis-board people but this doesn't seem to have put her off!!!! :-).

This of course means lots of flying for me, as I am now going to be flying from London -> LA -> Orlando -> LA -> London, boy I'll be racking up those airmiles. Also we are going to be spending some time at WDW after the cruise (hopefully), flying back to LA on November 5th. Don't know if you or anyone else has plans for a post cruise WDW trip?

Also, I have more exciting news!!!! It's great to hear that you have booked a Panama Canal cruise because, guess what, I HAVE TOO!!! and not only that, I have also booked the same one as you, the CA to FL. As soon as I heard about the cruises being released I thought I'd better book ASAP if I wanted to go. At first I wasn't sure which to book the FL to CA or the CA to FL, but in the end I decided the FL to CA in May would be a little too close to our October cruise. So I have a deposit down on a Catagory 9 Oceanveiw stateroom (2504) for the CA to FL. I actually went for Catagory 11 first but the price for that seemed to rocket up so quickly that it made the catagory 9 more attractive. Now I've just got to save, save, save to pay for that. I'm still trying to work out if I can really afford it! But I have always wanted to cruise through the Panama Canal and to do it on the Disney Magic would just be amazing.

Well I hope you are well. The weather in the UK is beautiful at the moment with temperatures reaching the high 70's/low 80's.

Speak to you soon,

Darren

Glad you heard from Darren and thanks for sharing with us here!

This was a very, very, very busy day. All day cleaning and we even rented a steam cleaner and did the carpets throughout the house!!! Not as hard when we all pitch in. I feel so good about this huge accomplishment. Now if we can just keep the houe clean through Thursday, we leave Friday morning for Chesapeake, Virginia for a hockey tournament and then we can come home Sunday night to a clean house!! That would be wonderful!

Well back to work in the morning. Turner and Paul get to have the day together. I think they will probably go to the Y to work out.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Love ya!
Later!

Great to hear from everyone and Darren too! Boy would I really like to go with you all on the CA to FL cruise, but $12,700 seems a little steep for us right now. Oh well, maybe some other time, some other year, some other decade, some other life time, some other time continuum ....... you get the picture.

Tomorrow starts my cleaning like a mad woman for the baptism. Our family use to be real big on parties like this SO, like a good person I invited those family members that we haven't seen is awhile (my cousins and Garry's who have been busy with their families etc.). WELL, I had written on the invititations RSVP Regrets only. I HAVEN"T HEARD FROM ANYONE YET!!!!!!!!!:scared1: Garry and I counted and IF everyone comes, we are looking at about 60 PEOPLE!!!! In my house, my small house (right Denine?) Prayer for NO RAIN!!!!!!!!! Then at least we can get people into the backyard. I sure there will be some no shows who decide not to call and let me know. I wouldn't mind a party with just our cruise family, but it is alittle hard with everyone all over the USA and England:( . What does that mean when your adopted family means more to you then your real family? Love you guys!! We really mean it.

By the way, Garry says hi and since he hasn't been on the boards for so long, he wanted me to give you all a question of the day for us to "talk amongst ourselves". Well here goes:

"How do you grow the baby corn on the cobbs? And who picks it? Discuss!"

He still has jury duty tomorrow. It looks like it could go to at least Thursday. He's happy he doesn't have to go into the h*** hole he calls the station. The guys he works with are terrible. Only out for themselves. It really is a bad scene.

Brooke has moved on to sitting in her high chair and eating. We DON"T recline AT ALL! We sit up like a big girl. It is so cute, her head barely makes it over the tray. But she loves it!

Well, enough from me. Gonna go! Will TRY and check in once a day this week, but I can't promise. Have a great week everyone!!!

Bonnie, how was Chicago?

OK, Garry. :scratchin I had to look this up or I would have been thinking about it all day. "Seeds are sown in spring and are cultivated like regular sweet corns. Corn ears should be picked for vegetable use within 5 days when silking." And, I thought it would be something more exotic!!

Gotta go get ready for work. Got to sleep in a little since I don't have to take Turner to school. Now I need to rush, rush, rush.

Have a wonderful Monday, everyone.:sunny:

Later!

Good morning everyone. Just found out this morning that all of the agency's will get off this friday for mourning Reagan's death, my scheduled day off is Friday so it looks like I can take Monday off and make it into a 4-day weekend or take the next friday off and have another 3 day weekend. Not sure what I am going to do!!!

Yuck corn, I don't like corn and don't know any process of growing corn.

Thanks for the recipe Denine!! It sounds so yummy and I can't wait to try to make it...hey mom what are you doing friday...making cheesecake right!! :p

Susan - I think the lady I went with is trying to pass off DC and have a conference call because she says it is too hot back there right now. I don't know, I haven't heard much about it and I have moved onto another organizational review!!!

I can't beleive Darren is going on the Panama cruise too! That is great. He better start posting again!

Julie: I really hope it doesn't rain. You don't have that much room! I don't have that much room! Please tell me if you want me to make some food. It is really not a problem and I would be glad to help out.

Sue: Isn't it great to have clean carpets?

Heidi: You are welcome for the recipe. At least take a little time to remember Ronald Reagan on your long weekend. I may watch the funeral on TV. He is the first president I ever voted for.

Our showing last night was a no-show. I really HATE that. Our agent was going to call the agent and give her an earfull. We lowered the price last night. The couple that seemed really interested had asked our agent if we would take 25K less than we were asking. NO!!! He showed him what he could get in that price range and said we may be willing to talk if he upped his price about 15K. We will see.

Baby corn on the cob is grown in baby cornfields and harvested by little people. :p

Good Morning!!

Great to hear from Darren. Yeah another one going on the Panama cruise! Julie if you leave the kids home that will really cut your cost.

Spent most of the after noon yesterday cleaning our pond. There was so much muck at the bottom. ICK. My fish are breathing so much better today. We can actually see them. :fish:

Barb:tongue:

Okay mom - where are you? You haven't posted yet!!! Okay I am giving in, could you please find out how much it would be for me to join in on the Oct. cruise and calculate how much I would have to pay you and dad? Thanks so much!!! Also I am letting you know that Tuesday I won't be home for dinner..I got an email from Julie Brammer stating that she has lots to tell me and we must go to dinner so we are going to dinner on Tuesday. I have to check in here because this is usually the first place you go to before getting the phone messages!!! I love you!!

Denine - Oh yes I will definitely take the time to remember Ronald Reagan on Friday. It would be hard not too!!!

Mommy...oh mommy. Where is my mom? Did someone kidnap her? Maybe she got lost in the Bath and Body Works store. I guess she is just ignoring my post about wanting to go on the October cruise.

Where is everyone? I see Darren appeared to say hello.
Hi Darren - I don't know you and you don't know me, but I have heard a lot about you!!!

Today posts have been from Susan, Barb, Denine and I...we are getting a little lonely. Time to come out and stop lurking all you lurkers. I hope to come on tomorrow morning and find a more active thread!!! ;) :Pinkbounc :bounce: Have a good night everyone.

Ok, ok, I am here. Good grief. Your dad takes off and we are doing "things" around the house. Also, waiting for the Suburban part.

I will contact DU and see what they have to say for a price.

Julie, our house isn't big either. When we invited people over for the H.S. graduation we planned on going in the backyard. Wouldn't you know that it was thundering and lightning. We managed and so will you. Don't worry! If you weren't so far away, we would add to your head count plus RSVP! :teeth:

Denine, there is NO excuse for a no-show! The least the agent could have done was CALLED!!

It is sooooo hot. It was to be about 98. Yuck! I am outside trying to clean the white furniture. What a stupid day to do it! Ted is washing and polishing the 5th wheel. Call us STUPID!

Hey Darren, don't put yourself out on such a long post! ;)
