October 15, 2005 anyone?

Another Band Geek here. We played in a competition at Disney in 1989. We also marched in Disney. That was a great fun! We got two days in the parks, and we spent them at Epcot and Magic Kingdom.

The Band actually got a day at a water park, but I was in the color guard and we had a competition that day so we didn't get there until MUCH later.

I was a busy band girl. I marched Color Guard (Flag Corps) in Marching Band and played the Tuba in Concert band.

Hey everybody! DH and I were in New Orleans last week - what a hoot! I cannot believe the things that adults will do when they are in the French Quarter at night (is it obvious that I live in the Midwest?

Did you do any of the Ghost Tours or Vampire tours? I don't believe in that stuff, but when we went there, we did all of them. I just LOVE hearing the stories! :)

It is amazing what people will do on Burbon Street. I was in the MarchingBand at my college and we played in the Sugar Bowl in 1990. A couple of us actually had to help the BAND director find the hotel, he was so wasted.

I swear all of our lines were crooked New Years Day due to hang overs and some people still actually DRUNK!

It was INSANE!

DH and I really wanted to do a nighttime cemetery tour, but we just didn't have enough time, unfortunately. We'll just have to go back again, I guess!!

The whole atmosphere in the French Quarter was really entertaining. There were several conventions in town the week we were there and I couldn't get over seeing these very stylish businesswomen plastered out of their minds at 6PM standing outside the Omni singing Motown at the top of their collective voices.

And that was the tame stuff that we saw while we were in the Quarter! :)

My birthday is Oct. 18, too. :flower: I like the idea of a birthday cruise more than the dental cruise! :rotfl:

:wave2: Hope all had a good weekend. Weather here is St.Louis has been delightful! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Hey Brenda,
Sounds like you had a great time in New Orleans! :cool1: I guess the closest I will get will be this Octber at Port Orleans French Quarter. Have any of you ever stayed there?? :goodvibes I got my rooms booked! Fingers still crossed for a MNSSHP on that Friday night (10-14).
I am sure we won't see what you did at the real French Quarter! :rotfl:

Had DD's 7th Birthday party :bday: :cake: (Josie!!) Friday night. It was a sleepover and OMG.....Trying to keep (5) 7 year olds happy is not an easy thing to do. We managed and everyone had a good time between the occasional spat and tears..... :hyper2:   :headache:
It was really kind of funny. I was worn out though!!

Ok,just checking in...Bye!

:cool1: :flower:  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :wizard:

HOORAY....fun in the sun...here we come!!!

I was watching extreme makeover last night and the family went on a disney cruise...i wanted to be there so bad!!! It looked like they were having so much fun....the captain and some of the characters were there and it just made me even more excited about our trip....

It seems like it will never get here! We still have to make it through the HOT HOT HOT days of Summer. Hopefully all of our plans will keep us so busy that it will fly by.

Having problems signing onto the Yahoo site for Oct 15th cruisers. I thought maybe I had the wrong passwords, but I was emailed the correct one and it's the one I've been trying to use. Anyone else having problems? It just won't let me sign on.

Ok...ok...so I'm I'm a tad bit computer iliterate. :goodvibes

Nancy

Anyone else having problems?
Only with my teeth! :teeth: (Obligatory "Molar Express" crew member comment.)

I can get to the Yahoo cruise group just fine this morning. Are you using this URL: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DCL-October-15-cruisers/

Are you getting to the welcome page for the cruise group? From there, you click on "Sign In", and then put in your Yahoo ID and password...Is that where you hit problems?

If we could find some place that makes pins (like the trading pins you can buy at WDW) would you guys be interested in trying to design one for our cruise if it isn't too expensive? I think it would be a hoot to pay homage to the Molar Express with an icon like this :teeth: superimposed against part of the ship... only one of the teeth would need to be broken!

My husband thinks I'm nuts for even suggesting it, but I thought it was funny and I wanted to know what the rest of the 10/15 gang thought.

Hope all is well - still crazy-busy at work but they're letting the entire department take Thursday to go to the Cardinals / Cubs game at 12:15. Tickets, beer, hotdogs... all on the bank!! WOO HOO!!!

I think that it is crazy, but I love it. I just hope I don't get the teeth problems that the rest of you are having!

OK, I can't draw anything (including a straight line) to save my life, but I was just thinking about the trading pin idea again and wondered if this design idea might be doable...

Start with a life preserver, and around the circumfrence it could read something like S.S. Molar Express & Disney Cruise Line 10/15/05 - 10/22/05. Then actually have a ship poking through the center of the life preserver...like 1/3 of the ship poking through the front of the preserver so that it looks like the ship is sailing through it. And then we could put some sort of icon, like the smiley w/a broken tooth, (or something else) on the bow of the ship.

Does that make any sense to anyone at all, other than me? And I suppose, more importantly, does anyone actually want to do this? Most sites I looked at require a minimum order of 100 pins and I have no idea how much something like this could cost.

Opinions, ideas, feedback...most welcome.

Brenda

You are making me soooo scared. OK – if you must know…I am deathly afraid of the dentist. Sitting in ‘that’ chair…my ‘bottom’ grows feet. I can hear the hygienist repeat…”Mr. Smith – please sit up…we need you to remain at the top of the chair.” I’d rather eat anything served on ‘Fear Factor’ than sit in a Dentist’s waiting room for 10 minutes. You won’t want me to admit what I’d do to avoid a visit from the Dentist.

It might be a challenge to find homes for 100 pins…how about a smaller amount of ‘2-3” photo buttons’. These remind me of ‘buttons’ you can purchase when your little one participates in sports? Am sure we can come up with a suitable design and quantity that suits our needs.

Suggestions – concerns – derogatory remarks??

Keep in mind…I grade derogatory remarks…..

Take good care of you and yours, K

If nothing else, assuming that one of us is artistically inclined enough to create the logo, we would at least have a nice logo to print on some of that magnetic paper you can get for inkjet printers. That would make for nice door art for our staterooms. (And would serve as warning to the more sane cruisers on which staterooms to steer well clear of! :teeth: :rotfl: )
I am deathly afraid of the dentist.
:scared1: I resemble that remark! Actually, I have gotten somewhat over my dental-chair phobia...Now my fear/dread/horror kicks in as I make the walk from the chair to the "check-out" desk to pay my bill! I tell you Kevin, just one of these extraction/implant/crown combos would about pay for another cruise!

Brenda: I loved the "four out of five dentists...." comment! :rotfl2: My understanding is that while the Magic has an excellent medical staff, it does not have a dentist. If DCL read this thread, they might make an exception and add one in for this cruise...Disney is never a company to pass up a chance at easy money! :earseek:

Thanks for the info on the yahoo group. I finally got in. And yes, I got stuck at the sign in prompt.

Nancy :teeth:

Hey guys...just found out that DH needs a c-pap machine (for sleep apnea). We are picking it up tomorrow. Very scary....his heart stopped three times during his test and he stopped breathing twice!! We need to know if there is an electrical outlet near the bed in the staterooms. Should we bring an extension cord?

Oh yeah...I like the idea about the pins. I'm not anything near to an artist, but I sure can spend money...DH says that's a true talent of mine. :rotfl: I'll buy a couple pins.

I do have my door sign done already. The graphic designer at work did it for me before she quit. Sure wish I knew how to show you all a picture of it.

FTC...(First time cruiser)

Brenda, I luv the idea! Too Cute! :teeth:

The button and door magnets are an idea too. Maybe even both if they were reasonable. We did door magnets last time with the kids and it was a lot of fun. :) Our whole door was covered with door magnets that I had made & Needless to say...The kids had NO trouble finding our door.
