October 15, 2005 anyone?

:flower: :sunny: :flower:

Opening day for the ST.Louis Cardinals!! :cheer2:

Hope they start off better than they finished!

Hey I need some opinions??? Do guys think Disney will come out with General codes for October??? I am thinking of joining AAA. :confused3 I just called them and I can join for $50 per year and then they do have rates available for 10-13 & 14th at Port Orleans for $125 per night. That sounds pretty good and they said the AAA rates are booking fast for October? Should I just do it?

I also saw if you book a Disney cruise for 7 nights you get a $150 on board credit...That is pretty good! :goodvibes

Have a good weekend everyone. :daisy: :daisy: :daisy: :daisy:

ok.... that does it.... equal time for equal teams...

It's also the Cubbies opening day.

I'll with-hold my Dirtybird comments and say with lips pursed.. "yeah... I hope St. Louis does good this year too" :sad2:

hopefully Michelle you won't hold it against me that I root for the opposition... hopefully the 10/15 we'll have a better determination as to who the better team is... ( and hopefully verdict is more blue than red :earboy2: )

later,
Paul

I will let it slide....... :rotfl: I just don't know what happen to the Cardinals in the World Series...They choked I guess????? :confused3

I guess it was just Boston's turn too win! They deserved it.

I think I am going to go see "Fever Pitch" this weekend. The last scene was filmed in Busch Stadium when the Sox won the series. So that will be neat.3

This is the last year for Busch too. We are building a new stadium to open next April. :goodvibes

I have a friend who works for the Cardinals and she always gets me and my Dad some tickets. I have to go to a couple games this season.

Hopefully the Cub's will do good for you too. :goodvibes

Yeah by the 15th we will be close to World Series time again!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: Maybe the Cardinals and the Cubbies will be playing in the Play off's when we go on the cruise!! That would be funny!! :rotfl:

We could watch the game together and root for our teams! :cheer2:

You know there is such a rivalry against those teams anyway. :snooty: :crazy2: :scared:

We can keep our fingers crossed and see how the season goes. :wave2:

hey - hey - hey...don't count out the D-backs. This young Arizona team already hosts a world series trophy and is a hoot to watch. Our pitching's gonna be rough with Shilling/Johnson gone....but the 'Killer G's' (Gonzalas, Glaus & Green) are tearing the cover off of the ball.
Michelle...the deal with AAA sounds interesting. Just wonder if you would need to rebook to get the on-board credit...if not, sounds great. Am hearing this time of year numerous schools are on break...very few deals at Disney when kiddies are outta school. Nan and I loved staying at Port Orleans...it's quiet, with wonderful grounds and everything is a close together. Not sure if you've looked...but, we've found some great money saving codes on www.mousesavers.com

wishing all a great weekend......k

:cool1: I called Disney this morning and secured a AAA rate for Port Orleans before the cruise. $126 base rate per nigh and the CM told met that If general codes come out I can apply them to the reservation. :goodvibes So I said let's do it!
Believe me......I will be keeping my eye one "Mousesavers.com" over the next couple months!!! I would love to get it for around $94 a night! :confused3

Not doing very good at typing tonight...LOL Just had a mucho "Maragarita" at the Mexican place in town...LOVE IT! :drinking: :teeth:

Ok,better go..Bye Ya'll........

GO YANKEES! :cheer2:

Just kidding....although my husband loves Randy Johnson and he's glad we will get to see him more on tv since they seem to show all the yankee games here... :goodvibes

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the newbies! I've been away for awhile...time to catch up!

txaggieaggie94gigem, thoughts and prayer for your little one and you. How is everything going? What a tough time.

babyjosie98...leopard print toiletry bag, I'll have to check it out! Also, glad you have a room before the cruise. Makes it more official!

Spring is finally here too! Along with the storms. ;) Makes for a sleepy day.

Coming up to the 6 month mark. I think we're going to tell the kids about the cruise this week. It will be interesting to see their reaction. They have been asking to go on another Disney cruise. But, I did order the planning DVD and it is sitting out in plain site. :bitelip: And, we watched the Travel Channel special together. They are smart little ones, they've probably figured it out!!!! It will be fun planning together.

We have a busy month ahead of us. DD is in competitive cheer and the season is about finished. Off to Destin this weekend for the last competition. (darn the luck)

Have a great week!

Sara

OK Guys...I booked the AAA rooms for 10-13 & 14th
Michelle, I saw on the Yahoo Group where you were hoping for a MNSSHP on 10/14. Are you not getting in early enough for the one on the 13th? (At least according to the dates posted on WDWINFO...I don't believe Disney has made an official announcement of the dates.)

We will arrive at SSR (driving) mid-afternoon on the 13th, so if that schedule holds up, we plan to attend the MNSSHP on the evening of the 13th. Actually, after reading a bunch of reviews of last year's MNSSHP on Allearsnet.com, I was kind of glad to see the party fall on Thursday night. It sounds like the Friday and Saturday night ones are significantly more crowded (at least that's the opinion I came away with from reading all those reviews). As popular as the event seems to be, maybe they will add more nights!

OK, this is our first cruise. I've seen before in the boards and on some books that it's common for cruisers to arrive Friday night and stay in the Canaveral area to get a head start onto the ship. How common is this? How necessary is this? I'm waiting to see what fares independence air comes up with, and their flight schedule as well, before I decide on the Friday vs. Saturday arrival.

VA Mouseman - first of all...welcome to 10-15-2005 Eastern cruise meets.

Guess on where to stay the night before depends alot on your preference...time and distance of travel. We are west coast and spend a week at the time share to tour the parks before our cruise.
Another option is to fly in late-evening and stay at an Orlando Airport hotel. Then, go to port in the morning. Barb and Tony have used this option for their 40+ cruises. Appears they use Price line and get a room for around $35. Try this web site to see their trip reports and suggestions on getting a room through price line - http://**********************/
Knowing the price is quite steep to stay in port...and you may/may not get much time to enjoy the area/grounds (i may be wrong)...i'll vote for another option. You can prob get a rental and room by airport for less than staying at port.
OK - my turn for a question...I noticed you 'marched on Main Street'. Was this DL or WDW - what did you play?
One of my favorite HS memories...was drumming/marching at DL and performing in Tomorrowland.

Thanks for the info! My HS marching band went down to Miami to march in the Orange Bowl parade, around the New Year timeframe of 1982/1983. I played the saxophone at the time (still could probably). We had side trips to Cape Canaveral and WDW. We spent a day at EPCOT (only a few months old then), and then a day at the MK. The parade was tough ... the parade route was narrower than what we were used to! We staged in the area behind PotC/Jungle Cruise. Highlights included seeing all the hyrdaulics for the Jungle Cruise animals, and seeing Donald Duck walk around with his head off. We marched that day and flew home that evening. Disney rushed a tape copy of our performance to our area (Indianapolis) tv stations, who included a clip of it in that night's broadcast.

I played the saxophone at the time...
Welcome aboard, VA_mouseman, from a fellow saxophonist (at least in the "old days")! My WDW marching experience was on New Years Day, 1988, when my college marching band (University of Alabama) marched around the World Showcase lagoon. I lost track of how many times we played the fight song :cheer2: , although it was pretty hot that day (especially in uniform), so it seemed like waaayyyy too many times back then. I remember wishing that we were marching at the MK...a trip down Main Street is a lot shorter than circumnavigating the World Showcase Lagoon! :earseek:

Glad to have you join our thread. I personally just like coming down the day before just because it is so much less hectic and you are really well rested for the next day boarding the ship! :goodvibes

Plus we love the Radisson and their pool at Port Canaveral! :cool1: Just adds to the excitement of the trip. :rotfl: Last time we were sailing the Wonder we went to Grills and ate dinner and watched the Magic set sail! :flower: Very fun!

This time we added to days at WDW before our cruise and just rented a car and will turn it in at the Port location that morning before we sail.

Sam,
I wish we would get into town early enough on the 13th. I just don't want to pull DD out of school early that day since she will be missing a few days the next week. :confused3 We probably won't arrive till 8:00 pm. I would love if they added a Friday party, but if they don't we will just do MK that day. :cloud9: One good thing it will probably be open later that night. I have been to the party on "Halloween night"! SOLD OUT!! Do I need to say more. Although we did have a blast that night! Loved it. So hopefully a Friday night earlier in the month would not be that bad? I guess all I can do is wait and see.
You guys will have fun.

Hi! I'm a WDW CM, and my boyfriend and I are potentially going to go on the Oct 15 cruise! Nothing is definate yet. It will depend on whether we can get those dates off from work and if we can book the space available cast discount before it fills up. They don't offer them until about a month beforehand.

I'm dying to go on a Disney cruise! I've only cruised once in my life, an Alaskan cruise with the Princess line about 5 yrs ago. My boyfriend has hardly traveled at all much less cruised.

One thing I like about going on that particular cruise is my birthday is on Oct. 20th!

Woo Hoo! That's my birthday too ... and the reason why we're taking the cruise. Gotta celebrate the big Four-Oh in grand fashion!

Hey everybody! DH and I were in New Orleans last week - what a hoot! I cannot believe the things that adults will do when they are in the French Quarter at night (is it obvious that I live in the Midwest? Shocked, that's what I was, and on more than one occassion... :earseek: I like free stuff as much as anyone else, but not enough to lose my clothes in the middle of Bourbon Street, if you know what I mean. :teeth: )

But the food was incredible...I wish I was there stuffing my face right now!

Speaking of October birthdays, mine is the 17th. It seems like there are a lot of us celebrating birthdays on the cruise - maybe we should have a birthday party!! :)

Welcome to all the newbies - hope your teeth are in good shape. This thread has been dubbed the Molar Express due to a rash of broken teeth and other assorted dental issues among all of us (maybe we should begin referring to the thread as floss?).

Just think - only six more months to go!!! :Pinkbounc   :bounce:

Add my daughter to that list...She turns 6 on October 18th! princess:

The American Dental Association should be the sponsor of this thread (floss?) given the amount of money its participants (including me!) are spending on dental fees! :teeth:

We live in Northern VA as well, and we would DEFINATLY go down the night before if we possibly could. It just makes the first day so much less hectic!

Just my opinion!

Four out of five dentists surveyed recommended this cruise to their patients. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
