October 15, 2005 anyone?

I was really worried about the Phillies coming down the stretch - they really seemed to have our number this year and I didn't want to face them if we didn't have to. Not that what I wanted mattered, but you know how it is with us armchair experts. I expect you guys to have a pretty good team again next year - you've got some good young players.

And doesn't the ship look pretty at night? That's one thing I always regret about pulling out of port so early - we never get a chance to take a picture of the Magic at night. Last year I made that comment at Shutters and they gave me a "free" picture of the Magic all pretty with her lights on. I say "free" because I'd just bought an 8x10 of our formal night picture in one of those snazzy binders with a picture of Mickie and Minnie in their formal wear on the other side.

And you know...that makes me think about the dress code thing again...how would everyone feel if the characters started coming to dinner in jeans and sneakers? I bet they wouldn't think it was appropriate at all! :rotfl2:

OK...Brenda's pills are kicking in and she's getting sillier than usual.

:goodvibes

I have sworn off the dress code threads. There will be no winners on that thread. They're fun to read, and fun to post on. But no more for me. Well...maybe ONE more post. ;)

This is our second time on the Magic..we had the same cruise the same time last year, and rebooked while on board. I think this year I'll bring my tripod so while my husband naps (he's a big "I'm relaxing on vacation" guy) I can take some good photos.

I want a picture with Wifebeater shirt Mickey!

Hey to all...as you can see, we spent some time at Epcot. Well...actually we spent time at 3 different parks; MK, MGM and almost closed up Epcot. It was a great day!!! The weather appears to be 'drying up'...humidity is still high (to me anyway) but not as bad as Sun/Mon. Unless the weather changes...plan on lightweight cottons for touring the parks.

Anyone spending some time at the parks...must try their new PhotoPass system. Ask for this when you get your first photo taken. Then, every time you pose for a Disney Photographer...have them scan your card. You can view ALL your photos on their web site just 2 hours after taken. All images are held for ~30 days. There is a shipping/handling fee...but its a small price to make sure you get the memory that will last for years and years. Normally we regret buying some when the next night is better...or...don't buy hoping the next is improved - you know the game. Also, you don't have to wait in 'another' line at the end of your tour. You know - that precious 30 minutes after the parks have closed and EVERYBODY in your party is in 'such a joyous mood'.

Paul...picked up the 'item' you requested for Mollie...will pass it your way at Port.

Good night and safe travel to all...K

DiMitch,
Sorry your DH got scolded for skipping the game. With a little notice I could have probably had you covered as I still have family and friends in Denver. My dad has had season tickets since 1985 but has never seen a game from a suite.

I can't believe the number of post in the past few days...had to catch up on 5 pages. I guess it's time to start packing.

OK....I am packed and ready to go but i have lost my DIGITAL CAMERA BATTERY CHARGER!!!! i have looked everywhere...i guess i will have to buy a new one but they cost so much! we leave thursday and i cannot wait! I am at my last day of work right now!!! :cool1:

Brenda,

Are you sure the games Saturday and Sunday are 3:00 CDT? I thought 3:30, but can always check the listings to verify. And the one Sunday isn't set in stone, pending the outcome of the ALCS, so you may still be able to make tea.

So DH still hasn't even started packing and when I asked him what he wanted to pack last night so I could get started for him, he said "I have to think about it." Ugh. And tonight of course is baseball so it's shot for packing and Thursday night is more baseball plus his parents arrive to petsit/housesit while we're gone so that night's shot. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. It drives me crazy when he doesn't do things on my timeline. And I'm sure it drives him equally crazy when I have timelines for him.

Oh well, I should be asleep right now instead of obsessing over these things.

Paige,
Right now I'm going by the times posted on the Cardinals website - I did forget about that pesky ALCS series. I have to keep reminding myself that we're going to be in a different time zone and then adjust my thinking accordingly. Jason is a sweetie - he would never really ask me to skip tea - he might ask me to speed it up a little... :teeth: Honestly, I'm as bad as he is in this regard - listening to games at work or following them on the 'net...watching almost every game...paying ridiculous amounts of money for post-season tickets...it's like an addiciton in this city. Most of us who grew up in St. Louis are diehards..it's a baseball town and always will be. :goodvibes

I've had this whole week off from work which has been a real pleasure...but my body clock won't let me sleep past 6:00 or 6:30. I normally get up around 5:00 because it takes me so long to get to work. Ugh!

We're about 50% packed - the big stuff (literally...I've never learned the secret to packing light) is done so I just have to finish up the rest tonight before we leave tomorrow morning. Gotta stay up to print out those boarding passes for Southwest...someone is going to be sleepy tomorrow. :teeth:

Have a great day everyone... :earsboy:

Disney probably got tired of us calling all the time!!

Brenda,

Good News!!! If you are flying Southwest then you don't have to worry about printing boarding passes at 12:01 am anymore!! They just changed the policy and now you can print them 24 hours from your flight time!!!   So I can print mine Thursday at 2:00 pm!!! I will post the message from them...

Great News! Now you can check in online and print your boarding pass (for eligible reservations) beginning 24 hours prior to your scheduled flight! That means no more waking up at midnight to get your boarding pass!

Everything is going good!! Just need those storms to move on out from the Virgin Islands!! :sunny: :sunny: :wizard:

Cape Canaveral!! Saturday they took out all the chances for Thunderstorms! It says Sunny and 85!! :sunny:

On another note... sure feel sorry for those folks on the 10/22 cruise...they haven't even topped 1,000 posts yet and they leave next week. But perhaps they are not like us...posting on the sly at work...waking up early to post...taking laptops on non-disney vacations in order to post... :teeth:

We've got a good mix on this cruise! :goodvibes

It's not actually a suite...we've been a couple of times in previous years and it's called club level....you have a seperate entrance into the stadium, all sorts of big screens, and comfy chairs, bar services etc inside, but you actually go out into the regular stands to watch the game. By Husbands boss's seats are right on the 50 yard line. They are great seats...."When it's not Pouring rain" However we will probably never see them again since his boss was so mad! Oh well...2 more days!!

I have just recently been reading the list and surprised at the amount of posts going back and forth. Looks like a fun group. Some of you booked your cruise more than a year in advance, but wait to the last minute to pack. I booked our cruise a year again and I've been packed for a week (just put the garmet bag stuff together and wait to put them in, but everything else is packed.

I pack with lists so I don't forget anything and I also take our older clothes, shoes, etc so we can just toss them and make room for souvenirs! So in a way I pack light. Our big suitcase will be 50% leaner by the end of the cruise, until we pack new stuff into it.

I'm from Houston and we aren't sports fans. So it hasn't been that big a challenge to pack and get things done. We know Houston has a reputation of choking at the last minute...but who knows. We were on a cruise the year that it took forever to find out our next President. It was a 14 day cruise and my husband stayed up watching CNN for nothing. We got off the ship and still didn't know. So relax...enjoy the vacation! Because it goes so quickly and then it'll be over. :)

FinVicMom,
if you are still around, I have a ? for you. I noticed from a thread about where to stay at the port that you are also staying at the Marriott Cocoa Beach on reward points. In looking over my ressie it says that I need a voucher...??!!
I made the reservation online and it automatically deducted my points...and said nothing about a voucher. I thought you only ordered vouchers to use if you were not making a ressie right away. Did you recieve a voucher? TIA

Jo

Welcome to the group, Tenderpaw! Hope you'll stop by our DISmeet Sunday -1PM deck 10 above Cove Cafe. We'll be the big group hogging the sun and fresh air... :teeth:

Relax!!? Are you kidding? I've worked too hard to get to this point to be able to relax!! :earboy2:

Actually that's one reason I try to take two weeks at once - it takes me about four - five days to completely disconnect from work so of course I need another week of fun somewhere!! I'm fortunate that between vacation time and paid holidays that I end up with close to five weeks, so two weeks at once isn't like using up everything at once and then slogging through the rest of the year waiting for the next vacation.

See ya!

Brenda

PS. GO CARDS!!

I am using points in Orlando on Friday night... and called to ask about the "voucher". What happens is 24 hours prior to your arrival the hotel receives your "voucher" from Marriott rewards.... you basically check in and mention you marriott rewards... and that's it...

Thanks,
Paul

where ya been, Paulo? :teeth:

Cute little ones, BTW. Couldn't see the pics on my computer at work but they show up fine here at home.

Ready for some baseball??

ready for baseball? yeah I guess so... did you notice the Atlanta pticher that let Houston back into it the other night? non other than "15 on the DL for hitting a cooling fan when a Cub" Kyle Farnsworth... It's going to be interesting... To be honest, I am rooting for the other red team still in the playoffs, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.... sorry... I've never even stepped foot in Chicago, but the blood flows through my veins True Blue... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

When we get there on Friday, our plans are just to kinda hang out.... maybe get to Downtown Disney.... not sure what else... the Science Museum isn't to far from our Courtyard by Marriott...

safe travels to all!
Later,
Paul

Blue means.... blue... as in the Cubs fan october blues...

isn't it funny, as I write this I am listening to Eiffel 65 - Blue waa haa haa

You wanna hear funny...both Jason and I had the Cardinals and the Angels as our pre-season picks for the World Series - with the Cardinals winning it all of course!

Don't forget...I owe you a coffee concoction at some point and time on the cruise!

B. :goodvibes

PS. I am listening to Staind...trying to get out my aggression before the trip. And I didn't even realize that was the Farnsworth...d'oh!!
