October 15, 2005 anyone?

Take it from my personal experience: You don't want to have a sinus infection while traveling. One of the worst experiences of my life was when I traveled to Hartford CT with a sinus infection. The cabin air pressure *totally* messed up my head: an unbelievable headache/pain that felt like there was an ever-tightening vice on screwed onto my head. I was completely laid out for a day or two.
Totally agree. Get treatment NOW. There are two things you don't want to fly with - a sinus infection and an ear infection. The pain I went through flying with an ear infection was - I kid you not - worse than childbirth for me.

Just found this board but wanted to let you know I'll be joining you on the 15th sailing, had it booked back in September 2004! I also like to have something to look forward to. I'll be sailing with my DH and my two boys, 13 and 6. Not my first cruise or my first DCL cruise. I couldnt' go through all the postings...wow! I'm from Texas and since all the hurricanes hit, we decided to fly down on Friday instead of driving. Reading about the pedicures and manicures has made me want to run out and get it all done! Time for some pampering. Does everyone know that our ship is returning from drydock just in time for our cruise? I understand Parrot Cay is getting an overhaul as is the fitness room (which won't be completed in time for our sailing). The movie screen is up and they are also fixing up staterooms and such. It should be a fun experience seeing the changes! See you then...2 days and counting.

Welcome tenderpaw and Kimberly... come meet us on Sunday afternoon on deck 10 above the adult pool at 1pm if you can... join in our fun!
The drydock has indeed been discussed amongst us ..can't wait to see the changes.

As they say in Oz:
Good on ya!

The dress code debate rages on...I love to read people's comments on this subject. Most of the time I'm amused by how vehement everyone seems to get, but you know...there are a lot of assumptions that people make about each other and some of those folks get downright snotty. Too easy for people to say something anonymously on these boards that they would probably never have the guts to say to someone face-to-face.

Just glad that we seem to be such a pleasant group - well, except for me...I'm not really a very nice person at all. :teeth: I'll wear a dress to dinner every night because I'm a huge slob during the day. It makes the evening a little more special and it makes me feel more attractive...but to each his own. The funny thing is that here at home you never find me in a dress during the work-week...pantsuits or work casual all the way. And weekends...bring on the sweats, baby!

Hope everyone feels better soon...myself included!

Brenda :goodvibes

PS. GO CARDS!! :cheer2: Bring on the Cruise! :cheer2: Let's play tag! :cheer2:

I know what you mean Brenda! I was in on one of those threads yesterday and got a snotty response! :confused3 People are on vacation for God sakes! They should be able to dress how they feel comfortable.

I am with you and will be in a dress or a cute summery skirt every evening! I love wearing summer dresses more that shorts acutually. :goodvibes I have brunch before our meet on Sunday and so I will be in a dress then too. :teeth:

I am so ready for this trip!! Work is just torcher!! :guilty:

3 more days!!! :cool1: :sunny: :cool1: :sunny: :cool1: :sunny:

Forcast for Cape Canaveral still looks good for Saturday!
Partly :sunny: chance for Isolated shower and 85!! Yippee!! NO ACTIVE STORMS in the Atlantic!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Michelle,
great minds! I'll be wearing a dress to tea and to brunch...can't wear these clothes here in STL any longer - too cold. Gotta get some more use out of them!

What's the NEWS2 weather guru say about our trip? Everything still look good?

We just put our name in for a chance to buy World Series tickets...how we're supposed to do that on Saturday morning is beyond me, but I guess we'll figure it out of they pull one of our names. I may be counting my chickens a little, but I feel good about our chances. Red means Go!!!

Brenda :goodvibes

:wizard: Well, Brenda good luck on the World Series tickets! :cheer2: I will be glad when they get through playing the Astros..They worry me!! It was such a tough series last year! GO CARDS :cheer2:

I have the cutes dress to wear to Brunch that my cousin got me for my Birthday!! I can't wait!! ;)

I did e-mail Dave, but have not heard back from him yet?? :confused3

No active storms anywhere..>just a trouble spot of low pressure over where??? Of course "THE VIRGIN ISLANDS"!! No development is expected, but it better move on by next week!!!!! It can not hang out there forever!! :wizard:

Brenda,
I have a Spa Question for ya?? Do you think I should just stick with my Well being massage with Aroma therapy oils for Monday at Sea or switch to the Ginger and lime salt glow with half body massage??? :confused3 I know you were saying that the salt glow might night be good if I am out in the sun too much afterwards?? The well being is a full body massage and cheaper?? Think I should just stick with that??? :cloud9:

I know you are a big Spa person?? Thanks!

:hourglass :hourglass CAN TIME PASS ANY SLOWER AND THEN WHEN WE BOARD IT WILL FLY!

Ty all for the sweet welcome!

Dreary and rainy in South Jersey...this day is dragging. I'm here until Thursday...Friday afternoon we fly out and spend the night at Pop Century.

I love to dress up, too. I bought my formal night dress on sale for $31.00! I was doing the "Boo-yah!" dance all around the store. Of course, I'll have to factor in $10 more to buy super-uber control top hose. :)

I think if you really want the scrub you should go for it - it is for your birthday after all, and I'm a firm believer in trying something on vacation that you can't get at home. Besides...you've been talking about this treatment for months...just get it and enjoy it! You deserve to splurge on yourself now and then. :goodvibes

I would just be sure to use extra sunscreen for the rest of the day...but then again if you have horses you're probably outdoors more than I am. I am pasty...there's no other word for it. I'm suffering from the effects of flourescent cube-farm lighting. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Calling all experienced cruisers...... pirate:

Any recommendations on restaurants in the Port Canveral Area??? We will probably get there early afternoon on Friday :cool1:

I'm still trying to convince DH to leave earlier on Thursday, then we can stop at Hilton Head for a quick snooze....then only about 5 hr drive to Port Canaveral!! :cheer2:

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Aren't you guys glad I'm not working this week? :teeth:

I've never had this facial so it's hard for me to comment. I'll give you my rule of thumb...I never have a facial on vacation. Massage - yes; body wrap - yes; hydrotherapy - yes.

I have the most obnoxious, sensitive, reactive skin (hormones and Crohns medication make for a nasty mix!) and I just don't trust anyone apart from those therapists I've been using for the past couple of years. So rather than try something and end up upset because my skin had a fit I just avoid them on the trip and have one before I leave (had one yesterday :cloud9: ).

You know your skin better than anyone so if you're usually in good shape then you should be fine. Just be sure to tell the therapist up front about anything you do or don't want her to do.

It sounds like a lovely facial experience - you'll have to fill me in on the details when it's finished.

Suzie,

Got a perfect place for you to go eat on Friday!! We may see you there!

It is called Grills and if you get there around 5:00 you can actually watch the cruise ships set sail! :goodvibes They sail right past you! Everyone waving from the ships! :wave2: There is also a little park area next too the restaraunt that you can sit and watch too. We did this on the Saturday night before we boarded the Wonder. We got to watch the Magic set sail! Very exciting..I know there are one or two ships sailing out on Friday!

http://www.visitgrills.com/

You can print a coupon from the website and if you show an out of state DL you get 10% off. It was a fun and busy place. Live music playing outside!

Less than 2 miles from the Radisson. We won't be in town soon enough to see the ships sail!! :guilty: bummer...Oh well that's ok. Just will be glad to get there.

Thanks Brenda!! I am still thinking, but I may just do the salt glow!! I will be glowing in St.Martin the next day... You are right about me being outside a lot. I still have pretty good color. I have tanned a couple days for my legs though! :cloud9:

Hey Kimberly...

I read in one of those infamous dress code threads that you wore a tiarra last year. That's awesome!! Are you going to do it again? My DH would have the final confirmation he needs that I've lost my marbles if I did that but you've got me thinking about it now.... :teeth:
