October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

Thats what I thought, but there aren't enough spaces for Port Canaveral.
Is just "Canaveral" sufficient?

I've seen people say to put either "PTCANAVERAL" or just spell "PORTCANAVERAL" until it doesn't fit anymore.

I did both (had to fill out three). :)

"OK...I'll spill something I've never shared on The DIS before. When we were dropped off at Orient Beach....we went to the end of the family beach near other cruisers. The only topless person...was...you guessed it...from the Disney Magic...not only that....she was from our Cruise Thread.
"

Well, I can guarentee you that I will not be taking ANYTHING off in public!:scared1: My husband, mysteriously, is all in favor of going to this beach!! Also, after talking with our friends last night trying to decide what to do, we both agreed that going to Orient would provide for some great "sharing" in the 4th grade at St. Mary's School once we return!! I am sure our daughters will love sharing that story!! Much more exciting than swimming with the dolphins! :rotfl2:

I think we are going to try and wing it, getting a ride there or trying to take a tour of the island on our own. I am up for an adventure!

Kristi - how awful for you. I can't imagine the frustration and anger and sadness. We will definitely say prayers for you and your family. Our neighbors have adopted 5 special needs children from China and we have shared in their roller coaster experiences as well. :guilty: Hang in there - I know it is cliche', but everything does happen for a reason!!

Gotta get ready for work now...:coffee:[/quote]

My family wants to go to Orient Beach. We too will keep our clothes on......we wouldn't want to frighten anyone.:lmao:

I bought the Canon S3 last May and absolutely love it. My favorite features are the 12x zoom and the video recorder. It is awesome. It takes great video clips, so it saves me dragging around the DVD Handycam most of the time. The only problem that I have had is with a little too much noise in some photos when I use Auto, but the great folks over on the Photography Board have a great thread on this camera and have gotten me to use P setting (setting the ISO low) to fix the noise. I also downloaded the free noise reduction software that fixes any problems that I have regardless. It also has a great image stablization feature that really works well...even while taking video & photos from a speedboat of my daughter waterskiing for the 1st time. Good luck!

Kristi, I am sorry to hear this news. I do hope that the vacation will provide some stress release.

PD and prayers to you and family.

Thanks to all of you for your kind words and prayers. They are felt. :) I can't wait to be on vacation and cruising in 10 days! Boy am I gonna need it. It's a good thing my honey got us a couples massage (yes, he finally broke down and told me what the "surprise" was). Boy are we gonna be tense. We're holding our heads up today which is a step in the right direction. Now if my cold would go away and I physically felt better we'd be able to face more "giants" if they are to come our way. Again, thank you for your thoughts and prayers. They are truly appreciated! See you soon! :) Kristi

Kristi,

I'm very sorry to read that your having troubles with the adoption. I hope everything works out for you! :grouphug:

I just found this website! :) 132 pages? wow you all are very busy!!! We will be sailing this date too. I have 3 kids who are overly excited.

Welcome Magic3! We're glad to have you joining us. :) There's lots of information amongst the 132 pages. If you have any questions you should definitely ask them. The people who have been sailing awhile have lots of great info available! My family has been picking their brains for awhile now. :) Take care and see you soon! Kristi PS: How old are your kids? We have a DD who's age 5. :)

My daughters are 9 & 7, my son is 4. This is his first Disney cruise, we took the girls in 05 on the Wonder.

Any chance you know the movies on the jumbotron? and the water temp at Castaway?
When we went in 2-05 the water was freezing!!!

We are booked for Palos on Thursday night.
We are in cabin 8060?

Try calling 1-888-325-2500 a week ahead of time for the current movies being shown, someone gave me that number but I haven't tried it yet.
We have room 8036. DD is 10 and DD 17.

Kristi,

Hugs to you and your family. I will send prayers and wishes that your adoption woes will end soon. A co-worker just brought home her new baby from China. She had quite a few delays too, but it did work out. We got to met Molly Jian yesterday. I look forward to seeing pictures of your new famil member too.

?

Nice to know there will be others my DD's age - she's 9 and very excited about the Oceaneers Lab.:cutie:

Question for anyone who knows. My DS is 3 and not potty trained so I know he can't go alone in the kids program. Would the Cm's let us come in with him so he can play in there some? I'm trying to think of how to keep a VERY active 3 year old occupied on a boat for a week.

Good question! A friend cruised with her boys last Christmas, & they didn't want to stay there alone but wanted to participate in the fun activities. So Mom stayed with them there, & she said she never felt like the cast members in the kid club areas were upset by this!

My 4yo son does not like to go places like this alone, so my plan is to just hang with him in there if there's something he wants to do! I know most people don't do this, but I'd hate for him to miss some fun activities just because he isn't comfortable going alone! So that's our plan...

I went ahead and registered him in the nursery just in case, do I need to register him in the play area and can he be registered for both?

MiknMinMouse ~ My DS is also 3 (3 1/2 to be exact) and has NO interest in being potty-trained. My friend who just got back from the cruise said it's ok for him to play in the club as long as me or my DH is with him. I also registered him for Flounders but have not for Oceaneers.

Magic3forme ~ WELCOME!!!:dance3:

Kristi ~ I'm soooo sorry to hear about what is going on with the adoption. I have a lot of friends who have adopted or are going thru the process so I can only imagine what you must be going thru. :grouphug:
My thoughts are with you and your family.

We're leaving for Orlando one week from today!!

Kristi, DW and I were both sad to hear about your news....keep up the positive thoughts, everyone here is pulling for you. I too have a cold and what I usually tell myself at the start of one of these things is that, this is the worst I will feel....and that everyday after I WILL feel a bit better, you will too.

For those with potty trained or like in our case semi-trained kiddos, it seems there are quite a few of us in the same boat (no pun intended) and I'm sure the counselors have seen thier fair share of accidents and such. Our 3yr old has been on the potty train for three solid weeks and has actually had three full days in a row with no accidents.:cool1: We are going to try her out in the club and from what I understand they will allow her one accident, but if she has another she won't be allowed in without supervision. Apparently the CM's do remind them from time to time and that will really be key to her being accident free......

today is my - HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! I am taking a day off before we travel East...and the time just won't go fast enough.

it's time for another...where am I? a different twist...if you've cruised on DCL before...please wait till 12Noon PST before you reply...thx, K

Just a guess - is it Tritons on the Wonder?? I thought I read that their version of Lumiere's is Little Mermaid themed! :confused3

Hey all! I continue to thank you all for lifting our family up in prayers and thoughts. We're able to think clearly for the first time today and have a game plan in action. We'll see what happens from there. As for my cold, it seems that the older I get the more often it goes directly down to my chest and becomes bronchitus. Ugh. Anyway, not sure if that is where I'm heading with this "cold" but I'm calling the doctor this afternoon to see if I can get in to see her. We'll see. In the meantime, I'm doing pretty good. My family is getting more and more excited over the fact that in 9 days we will be setting sail. :) WOW! Hard to believe we're in the single digits now. Way cool. :) Will plan to start working on the DIS-tag gifts really soon. (Don't worry, I'll make sure I don't breath on the gifts and I will continually wash my hands. :) ) Talk to you all soon! Kristi

well...I'm still recovering...was out late last night. I was at the D-baks win over the Cubbies:cheer2: !!!! It was a packed house and took over an hour to get from our seats, out of the parking garage and to the freeway.:scared1:
