Homew3 said What room are you in? Were in 7080-7082 NON SMOKERS

Hey Goofy12 - Long time no see! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
I love the idea of verandah hopping! :cool1:
And you guys are welcome for coffee at our verandah anytime, too!

DS loves these dancing bananas so I had to post a bunch for him to see!

YIPPY!    Not far at all, I can still crawl back to our room if need be........haha
homew3 wants to know about the morning after coffee creamer. Do they have the fancy stuff? She likes Hazelnut, Toasted Almond. And how much money(cash) do we need to bring?

Oooooh - good question re: the coffee creamer. I like the fancy French Vanilla kind (International something). Might have to bring some non-refrigerated kind. My guess is they have just the std half/half or milk kind.

As far as cash, I'm not quite sure how much to bring - enough for excursions, taxis/tips on the diff ports...

We just changed our room from a cat 8 to a cat 5 (we wanted to stay on deck 7). It's a $688 price difference:scared1: I was so wishy-washy trying to decide (and doing a search and reading a ton re: verandahs vs. non-verandahs).

Do you fellow Cruisa-Paloozas like verandahs?? I love the idea of having breakfast/coffee there in the morning and reading and having a place to hang out if you get up early or if DS is napping.

I haven't seen my new friends, homew3 & goofy12 in awhile but they have a cat 5 and I invited myself to their room for coffee in the morning on their verandah - now I can drink it in our own balcony:)

We decided to splurge on a verandah too (Room 8036). I love early morning coffee. I hear if you order a carafe the night before its still hot the next morning.:coffee:

Bevtoy - us anniversary celebrators deserve to splurge and get a verandah, right??!
I didn't know that about the carafe the night before - thanks for the tip! I checked the room service breakfast and am a little bummed there's no hot food on there (ie bacon, eggs, etc...). Oh well.

this is our first time with a verandah. when we book on the last cruise and got the discount we thought why not, its less that if we would have waited and booked later. We wanted to see if having the verandah was worth the extra money or is the cat 5 enough for us. We're in cabin 6570.

Just found this thread today so I thought I'd introduce myself :wave2: we booked, or I should say I booked last September and then said to DH "guess what I did today?" :lmao: We have 3 kids - our 2 girls will be 13 and 10 when we sail and our son will be 7. They still don't know we're going. I am going to try and surprise them. This will be our 3rd cruise (all on the Magic), 2nd time on the Eastern. :)

welcome - Jen thats a tough secret to keep for that length of time. good luck

I just saw your in the cold too. I just keep thinking warm thoughts.

ahhhhh COFFEE people...looks like I am in great company.:surfweb: I am not a 'flavored creamer' guy...but do remember they only had half and half and powdered (yuck - me no likey powdered cream:scared1:) at the beverage station.
If you want to order something from The Cove Cafe (coffee bar near the adult pool), they did have flavored cream. Regretfully....they do not offer (as of oct 05 – nor have I heard differently) a brew or drip coffee (me fav). The closest you can get is an Americana. IMHO – might as well go to the beverage station...the brew there wasn’t that bad.

Bevtoy...on our ‘adult only’ cruise....Nan and I ordered coffee/tea the night before...it was still very warm the next morning. If ya like it hot-hot-hot, you’ll prob need AM room service or take a trip to the upper decks.

Me...I’m an early riser...love to walk the deck hoping for a sunrise that requires me to shoot a whole roll of film while savoring my coffee.:coffee:

It sure is:) My oldest heard me say the word cruise a few weeks ago, and she got a huge smile on her face. My DH quickly said "well hopefully we can go again in a couple years" I think she bought it. Have to be more careful from now on. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the welcome:)

Isn't it awful out? I was out waiting for the school bus yesterday with my niece and it was 10 minutes late, I thought I was going to freeze to death  So today, we took the car and the stop is half a block away:lmao: I can't wait for spring:)

Welcome Jen & family! I see that you are a fellow Minnesotan and we share the same name too. I'm with you on wanting spring, or better yet summer. It will be just that much more closer to our cruise. :)

Welcome Jen-n-greg - WELCOME!!! our daughters are the same age as yours. princess: princess: princess:

Good luck pulling off the surprise – it’s worth it. We were successful on a trip to Disneyland – it was tough keeping it from them...but well worth it. We told our DD’s in the lobby of the hotel...they were speechless (that was priceless:rotfl:). I have video of my oldest walking up to the first CM she saw...with tears of excitement in her eyes....saying, “Is this really Disneyland”?

Hi Jen:wave2: I agree-- summer would be nice. Hopefully time will go by quickly :) Where are you located in MN? I think I saw someone else on here too from Stillwater...Haven't had time to read all the posts yet but I'm trying :)

That's great! Glad to hear there will be others their age. Last time they didn't have anyone to hook up with, maybe this time they will :)

Your surprise sounds so wonderful! What I'm thinking we will do is spend a couple days at WDW and then tell them we are going to drive to the ocean and spend a couple days there. Of course, then we will drive over the bridge, see the ship and be like "Awww, I wish we were on there. Let's just drive over there and get a closer view" . And then I will hand them their documents and see how long til they figure it out

We live in south Minneapolis, our 3 kids go to school in St Paul. I think it's MinnesotaMouseketeer that is from Stillwater.

I thinks it's great that you are keeping the cruise as a surprise. I wish I could. I drive my DH crazy because I have the hardest time keeping a surprise. He can, no problem. :)

I too have kids that are close in age to yours. My DS will be 6 when we cruise, but a month in a half short of his 7th birthday.
My DD will be 10, almost 11, and my oldest DS will be 13, Also, my niece will be with us too and she will have just turned 14 one week prior to our cruise.

It seems that there will be quite a few kids around the same age. That's great! The more the merrier... :dance3:

Welcome, Jen & Greg!
We need to get out girls together! Cant believe you've been able to keep the suprise from them??? My entire family cant stop smiling and wiggling.

d'Isigny, love mine black coffee but I'm sure I'l be looking for the flavored stuff for homew3, shes gotta have it. I wounder if we can buy it somewhere on shore/ship?:coffee:

Oh, FYI it was 60 here in CA yesterday, now cold (52) and rainey........sorry

Homew3 and I cant wait to me all the familys!:grouphug: and let the kids have fun together:dance3:
