October 11, 2014 7-Night Southern Caribbean Cruise on Disney Magic (San Juan)

Could port fees be included in this and SJ be higher than PC possibly? :confused3

My TA has confirmed that my repo cruise prices does not include pre-paid gratuities. I have asked her to check with DCL why the "Government Taxes & Fees" are so much higher for the 3-night than for the 7-night.

Whether the figure is made up from a percentage (like sales tax) or port charges, or a combination of both, I'd still expect the shorter cruise, with fewer ports, to have lower taxes and fees.

I'm sure DCL will have an answer. But it's always worth asking the question. I was on the 2008 WB Panama where DCL tried to charge passengers twice for the Panama Canal crossing fee. They argued and argued but finally had to admit they were in error and refunded the additional amount.

Good to know, it wasn't in the sticky list of cruise threads. I don't believe there was a FB group by the number of people who quickly joined the one I made.

I did ask for the thread to be added to the sticky when I created it but it hasn't happened yet.

I just checked the website and the three day repo is NOT showing there yet when searching for cruises, so it looks like it may not be available to book via the DCL site yet. I hope DVC has a point chart for it today, I want to book with points.

Just checked the DVC site. They do have point charts available, and the three day is considerably less than I was anticipating, woohoo!!

I'm on the DCL website and have managed to find the repo cruise but it isn't easy.

On the main search page, I selected Bahamas, 0-4 days, Oct 2014 and Disney Magic. For departure port it left only Miami, Florida. It showed 2 possible cruises but when I clicked through it just brought up the one, the repo.

It's listed as "3RJS" and when I click on the Itinerary tab, it's blank.

But the Stateroom tab is working fine and is offering a full range of categories available.

I will b reserving the 3 night tomorrow. Hopefully same room. Just in case we stay with this cruise.

We are booked for the repo; our TA got us in the same room :) I'll pay the deposit this afternoon. I'm very excited!!!

Got it booked through DVC but had to switch staterooms for the 7 night in order to stay in the same cabin for the 3 night. Someone already took the one we are booked in for the 7 night. But it is all good. Same location on the ship, just two decks down from where we were.

We're booked on the repo cruise in the same cabin as the 7 night cruise. Still a little bit on the fence about going since our DD/DSIL will have to fly home after the 7 night cruise and were doing WDW before.

Hello All,

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I am also booked on this cruise and have the B2B-3-Day booked as well afterwards. Now just to figure out how the kids can miss school so we can go on both cruises.....LOL!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Is there a FB page for this cruise as well? If not I am happy to create one....:):)

We got our repo booked this morning too thanks to our travel agent; same cabin same seating ... woohoo! :cool1:

I was already excited about the 7-night but now with a 10-nighter inculding an extra day at sea and a stop at castaway cay, I'm bouncing off the walls! :rotfl2:

So I come home from our Alaska cruise to this news! Emailed my TA right away. Darn straight I would do a 3-day when it's a B2B with an existing cruise.

pulled the plug and booked the b2b can't wait. Just curious will we be able to do the quick check in and explore San Juan or do we need to stay in port?

I hate to ask this. I'm sure I should already know this. But what is B2B. Can you only do this with a travel agent? Is it list on the Disney site?

It means back to back. Taking the cruise right after the one you are on.

So glad I came and read recent posts. My room is available for the 3 night...it's o the points charts for DVC. GOing to call first thing in am to book before it goes! Points for cat 4 are 90-110 or so...that's cheap for points!
