Sorry you guys are still in the cold and snow! Spring is coming here, we had tornado warnings around last night. Our girls DO NOT like having to get into the hallway! It delayed their bedtime so they weren't totally mad. It is still dark, so I don't know if we lost tree limbs, but I think things are mostly ok.

Beautiful, sunny day in Orlando. Even with the weather, I'm sad. My doggie is sick, and I have to take her to the vet this afternoon. My baby is a 9 1/2 year old yellow labrador, Shona. I'm hoping everything is ok...just very concerned!

On a more positive note, bought travel insurance from an outside company yesterday, and I plan on making our final cruise payment today. I'm hoping that if we are paid in full, we won't get hit with a potential fuel surcharge. I know DCL can add it at anytime, just hoping we can escape it if it happens. We owe less than $250 anyway. I have never paid off a cruise this far out. We usually book space available and pay for the cruise all at once, but that's less than 2 months to sailing. 1st time for travel insurance too, but it's a small price to pay when paying for our vacation this far out.

Also, just booked our tickets to California for the Disneyland half marathon in September. The cheap seat on Southwest even went up $10 each person per leg since last week (darn oil prices!) Only a few flights left at the cheap rate, so decided best to do it right now. We had registered for the race a few weeks back, and reserved our hotel at that time. It's a trip for just DH and I since DD will be in school. Thanks to the in-laws, we will be heading out Thurs 9/1-Tues 9/6. Very first trip longer than 1 night without my DD :-(

Expensive day for sure...and I haven't been to the vet with Shona yet! Oh, and we don't even get a tax refund this year...we are paying. Of course, won't be filing until the last minute!

Stephanie

Morning Bananaheads,

Stephanie, Good luck with Shona. I hope she is ok. Hopefully its something easy to fix. Think good , possitive thoughts.:thumbsup2
Let us know what the Dr. says.

No snow today but down to 29 last night, tonight down to the teens. That is normal for many of you but not normal for where i live. Hoping the roads arnt icy since i need to take my son to pick up his car and its 50 miles one way to get there.

Catch everyone later,

Kathy

Just thought I would get in with our puppy Gloria.

Denise, your dog looks like my sister's only her's is a red. Everyone has beautiful dogs!

Ok, this winter can stop anytime now! Even my DD is ready for winter to be over. The kids didn't have school today because we got MORE snow. My kids have finally said they are sick of snow and are ready for summer.

Busy weekend here, it's DD's best friend's birthday party tomorrow and then we are going to go see The Very Hungry Caterpillar on Sunday with my MIL. Tonight we are going up to my gf's house to help her bake and ice cupcakes for her daughter's bday party.

Greg, glad you are still around! I can't say anything anymore as I've been out and about lately. You can adopt me anytime you like though. I'd gladly go over there, just drop me off in London. :) I'd rather not see anymore snow, if that's alright. :lmao:

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!:goodvibes:banana:

Hi everyone. Well Shona is doing much better. $173 at the vet yesterday. The vet wasn't too concerned with the bloody poop...I sure was. Shona also has 2 bumps on her lip (hoping they are just irritated hair folicles). Her ear is irritated too. She is on anti-dirrhea meds, 2 antibiotics, a tummy probiotic. We have a recheck in 10 days. Not a cheap vet visit.

A very expensive day yesterday for sure! $173 for the vet visit and all the meds, $615 for DH and my airfare to CA for the Disneyland half marathon in Sept.

Today, I made the final payment on our cruise...hopefully if a fuel surcharge is added, with us PIF, we can avoid. Now waiting for July 2nd to do online check in and reserve Palo. Wondering if we will get an upgrade between now and sail date.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thats good news about Shona. If the vet wasnt concerned then it must be ok. Just keep giving the pills, which with my dogs is like WW3 :lmao:

I always have to hide the pills in a bite of cheese or hot dog, then if I am lucky they will swallow it.:thumbsup2

Kathy

Good news about Shona! I have found with our puggle if I get the steak type treats, cut them in 1/2, stick the pill in the inner part and press the halves back together she's fooled about it and I get the pill in.

Spending the wonderful sunny (but chilly) day cleaning a house and doing laundry and dreaming Disney Dreams!

Hi all! Haven't posted in awhile, but I have been reading along. :)
I can't believe all the snow everyone is getting. We have been 70-80 outside for about 2 wks now...it has been great! Guess that is why I was born and plan to die in Charleston!:goodvibes

Any news on the FEs? Did the list go out yet?

Anyone know what is going on in WDW the first week or 2 of November to cause the blackout dates? I wouldn't mind tacking on a night or 2 after our cruise, but not w/out a PIN discount. We will have to just be happy with the 3 nights before the cruise!

Isn't that Jersey week time??

Hmmm, maybe so. Does that increase attendance enough to not offer discounts?

We were there a few years ago during that time frame and the lines were HORRIBLE. The first night that everyone got there you could not move on Main Street. It was wall to wall people. I know AKL was totally sold out and the restaurants there were crazily busy.

yuck! I will def pass on heading back there after the cruise then. It just seemed like a good way to end the week.:goodvibes

I actually just checked touring plans and jersey week is 11/8-11/12. The crowd levels on 11/3 thru the weekend vary from a 1 to a 6.
Guess I will keep my finger crossed that a room discount is offered.

The first week of November will be fine, NJ moved their teacher convention this year to the second week..I know b/c I am from NJ and I was trying to go during the convention as I am getting married on the Disney Dream and my family all works for the Board of Education. It is all booked and we find that this year they moved teachers convention...the FUN of wedding planning I guess!

Sorry forgot to add it is wine and food festival during that time as well! :)

Thought I'd add a photo of our puppies too but not sure how to attach one.
I have a question I know some of you can answer. Why do you do B2B cruises, is there some advantage or do you just like to cruise for longer times? Is it cheaper than booking a 7 day? Just curious because there seems to be a lot of you and it's something that never crossed our minds...in fact we can just barely afford the one 4 day!

For us, we are doing one cruise on DVC points and paying cash for the 3 day. We want a longer cruise time but want to experience the Dream and we figured for us 3 or 4 days aren't enough. We only cruise every 2-3 years and prefer to cruise for a week but on the Dream it's not an option. This is our first time doing a B2B.

I looked into it but the cost and the wasted day btwn cruises changed my mind. We are doing land/sea instead. Was hoping to do the fantasy in fall 2012 but they have it priced too high IMO. I guess it will be another land/sea year for us.
I think a lot of ppl do b2b b/c they want a longer cruise but want to check out the dream.

Download your photos to Photobucket and then you can easily post them here.
It is a free site. www.photobucket.com. It will give you step by step to downloading your photos and to add them to the thread here or e-mail.
Once your photos are there if you have a question we can help you through it. Really only 2 steps once they are on phoyobucket.:thumbsup2

We prefer longer cruises and on the older ships you can find them much cheaper than doing a B to B on the Dream. But many want to see the new ship and 3 or 4 days just isnt long enough. So they do 2 cruises in a row.

We are only booked for the 4 day. We have many friends who we have cruised with before that we want to see again that are on this cruise so we booked it. Then we will do a few days at the parks.
We have been to Nasau many times and we do like it but going there twice in a row isnt for me and I am not the type to stay on the ship.
I cruise to see new places and other cultures so I refuse to not get off the ship on a port day, like many do.

Kathy

Morning everyone

We are doing the B2B because we want to be on the ship for a full week. I have done a 4 night cruise before and it's just not enough time. I am looking at the day in between as a port type day, get off the ship a little and then spend time at the pool. Most people don't do the pools the 1st day so it won't be too crowded.
