Wow, this has been one long day. Had to work today, still doing overtime, so I got to work at 6:30am this morning and got off at noon. Drove into Chicago to visit my dad and take him grocery shopping. Visited with him for a while and just got home.....going to start dinner in a few minutes....but thankgoodness I get to sleep in tomorrow :dance3:

Have a good evening all

Greg...... where are you?????:confused3 Haven't heard from you in a while! Hope you aren't buried under tons of snow or anything. :rolleyes1

Hi Morgan,

I'm still around! I just haven't been on the DIS......to busy working and getting things arranged for our family trip back to Europe in May.

I still check in on the other chat site with Kathy. :thumbsup2

Howdy Denise!! Nice pictures! :-)

Thanks for the welcome! I need to go back and read all 218 pages and get caught up on things! We're excited to be going and it's going to be a LONG wait until October! We've had the flu bug hit this week to our whole house - so it gave me some down time to sit and book vacations! Nothing like planning something in warm sun vs. seeing four walls of a house for a week! :)

Morning everyone,

OH dont say that nasty F word. :lmao: The FLU is a bad thing to mention around here. We went through it earlier this year, then on to the worst colds we have had in years which we still have a touch of. :headache:

Sorry to hear you have it too. Hope everyone gets well fast.:thumbsup2
Morgan just got over illness too!!!
Seems everyone has been sick this year.

Cold here this morning but the sun is out shining nicely today.
I need to do some :laundy: sometime today. Exciting huh?

Hope everyone is having a great day.

kathy

Afternoon all:

Greg, I was wondering what happened to you.....didnt know you were heading back to Europe....what countries are you going to?

Rainy cold day here:crazy2: I guess spring is over and winter is back!!

Nothing else going on here....

So far our winter has included a 9 hour stay in ER on 1/11/11 due to DH falling on the ice and breaking (more like smashing his wrist). Surgery a week later and 4 weeks in a cast (with pins in the wrist). He will keep the plate they put in forever poor guy and is now going through 3-6 weeks of therapy and then the Dr. will look at things to see what they need to do next. His wrist is numb and he's got no use of the hand/arm yet. So, then add an illness on top of that (that he was unfortunate to get first) it's been a couple of crazy months. His employer won't let him come to work with the cast or pain meds, so he's been out of work for six weeks and could be home for up to 4 more weeks. We're hoping they will ok the restrictions this week since he's finally off the meds - but it's up to their medical department. He's bored, I'm not used to having someone under foot 24/7 anymore and am more than ready for him to head back.

I've actually been on the phone with our TA do possible add on a 3 day cruise prior to the 4 day and do a Back2Back. This would put as at Gold level with CC for the 10/30th cruise too. I think I'm deserving of it!!! :) I'm more than ready for vacation!

Other than that - it's been a lazy day. DS is still struggling getting over the mess of last week, so he's home again tomorrow from school. We've just been relaxing and watching TV (and dreaming Disney Dream dreams!).

Hi Denise!

We're going to spend a few weeks and see some of the places we didn't get to in December. We're going to be staying in Amsterdam, Budapest, Milan, Florence, Venice and then we'll take the Glacier Express across Switzerland to see the Swiss Alps and the Matterhorn. Chayce is excited to do some skiing in Zermatt.

If I feel the country has stabilized enough we'll fly into Egypt to see Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. Our security escort from our last trip said they'd be happy to provide security for us again. :thumbsup2

We had some nice weather for a few days, but the snow has returned in full force!

Sorry to hear about the wrist. That made me hurt just reading about it.
I believe we have 2 families here doing the 3 day before this cruise, so you will know someone already. :thumbsup2
lots of them are doing the 3 day after this cruise for their B to B cruise.

Kathy

I think I am the only one doing 3-4-3, so will be a consistent over all three cruises, lol.

Wow, what a shame, hope he recovers fully from this. Yes, after having in home for weeks you are deserving of a few xtra days at sea!!!!:thumbsup2

Sounds great, my son will be so jealous he has been wanting to go to Amsterdam for years...(his dream vacation) I on the other hand have always want to go to Switzerland to see the Alps.....hmmmmm I guess your gonna have to "adopt" me again!!!:littleangel::littleangel:

I am so tired of this winter, we are now going to get 3-4 inches of snow today:sad2: it just needs to stop and spring needs to get here....

have a good one all

OK - for those that have done B2B's before. I know if you get the same cabin for both cruises you supposedly don't have to haul your luggage off (is this true?)? What happens if you can't get the same room or the same deck for that matter!

I have never done a b2b (but have read every trip report about them) if you have the same room, you can leave all your stuff there. If you change rooms, you have to pack everything up and the room stewart will move your luggage to the new room.

Hi everyone. Spent the past few days out at WDW. Sis-in-law's pom-pon team (she's the coach) was part of the Badgerette Pom-Pon All Star group that was at WDW performing this past weekend. It was great to see her and spend time at All Star Movies Mighty Ducks pool on a gorgeous sunny, 80 degree day. We went to Epcot yesterday to see all 215 girls, and her 26, perform. We watched the 30 minute performance, and then we were off. I hadn't planned on spending the day at Epcot, but the weather was gorgeous! Sis-in-law left early this morning to meet up with my brother and nephew at an all-inclusive resort in Puerto Vallerta, Mexico. Sis-in-law is extremely motion sick, so won't try a cruise. After this resort trip they are doing, we may decide to try that out someday. Although, a 7 night cruise on the Wonder would be an option too!

It was my bday yesterday, so spending a beautiful day at Epcot was fun. We started the day at Cool Zone, enjoyed the pom-pon performance, then the bday party began. I enjoyed a $12.50 blood orange margarita at the tequila bar at the Mexican pavilion (extremely yummy and worth the $$$). DD (age 6), DH and I set out to save the world with Kim Possible. We did the challenges and then enjoyed beverages throughout world showcase. We had a trip to CA on Soarin' and then left the park to enjoy dinner at a local restaurant...I was free after all.

Today is another beautiful day in central FL. DH is out for a run, I hope to get one in too, but DD is out of school, and as an only, is very demanding today...off to play UNO before I go insane.

Happy late Birthday !!!

Sounds like you had a great day at Epcot. I love it there.
We lived 8 years in Florida until 3 years ago.
I miss zipping over to the parks all the time.
We were there last December and about froze!!!

That's still good to know! At least we won't have to haul it off and back on again! :) Fingers crossed, I can pull this off this afternoon and get DH to buy into the B2Bs!!!! :woohoo:

We did a B2B on the Dream MV and didn't stay in the same room.

So, we had to pack our bags like everyone else BUT, we got to leave them in our room and the Steward picked them up at 8am. We got them back in the new room around 3pm (would have been quicker but our room switched 2x during that time due to my handling of an upgrade).

We had to disembark the ship, BUT, did it at the last possible time. Walked thru customs easily (no bags, no declarations, just Passports), got to the end of the hall and instead of turning left and out the door, we turned right walked up the stairs and went straight to the Reservations desk (no waiting) and got our new room key. We were back on the boat in less than an hour. We would have had to wait another 30minutes if we wanted the embarkation photo (another problem, no embarkation photo = no face recognition of photos, need to find them all manually).

We got back into our new room while it was being cleaned to drop off a couple of items and then went to lunch. It was wonderful and would be even simpler if in the same room (no 2am packing until the last night), makes the port day almost a like any other port day (but with free cell/internet on my ATT iPhone, unlike the $$$ roaming everywhere else).

I think, I will always be doing a B2B out of FL from now on if I can arrange it. Makes even the small 3/4day cruises better since I have to fly there from the west coast.

Thanks for letting me know about the B2B. We're official!! We'll be on the 10/27th sailing and then the 10/30th sailing. Different rooms for each cruise! Our TA called DCL and got a story about us having to totally leave the ship with our luggage which the TA knew was wrong. She's calling back tomorrow to talk to someone else.

We are doing the exact same B2B this time round... If you don't mind my asking, why couldn't you get the same room? Took a little bit of searching on the DCL website on my part (while on the phone with DVC) but was able to pull it off (and on deck 5 with the extended balconies no less).
