A point to take note of when making Cozumel plans, is that the day we are there is one of the "highest number of cruise ships ships in port days". We are one of 6 ships in port, meaning approximately 15,000 cruise ship passengers descending upon Cozumel!
This is the biggest reason many of us have booked Nachi Cocom. They have a maximum of 100 people per day on their private beach. The cost includes lunch (I've heard reports of "as much as you want") and an open bar".
Info for that and the website if you are interested can be found on page one. I honestly don't know if there is still room, as last check we were at 70 or 80 some of us booked already, and that doesn't account for Non dis people that might have booked as well. :)

thanks for the heads up!
Unfortunately our friends are still undecieded about cruising that week on the Legend. We have not seen them since last Oct. So seeing them would be important if the are in the same port at the same time! I had read up on Nochi Cocum when were considering the Legend instead of the Magic and would LOVE to go, but if we don't meet our friends, we could just stay on the ship! We have been to Cozumel a few times, one of my fav stops, but that is a lot of people to have in one port!

What plans do others have for Key West?

So far, we have no definite plans for Key West, other than to get off the ship and walk around a bit. We will very likely find ourselves taking the Old Towne Trolley. I know I want some sort of frozen Key Lime thing on a stick!

I think we'll do the Trolley trip too. I'd rather not , but I also want to see the "Southern Most Point" and I think that is probably too far to walk? Trolley tickets can be purchased ahead of time online for a bit of a savings? Correct? And you can get on and off whenever you want? (at least at any of the stops, then catch the next trolley that comes along?) I think I'll just be happy to be there, take lots of photos and definately try a key lime frozen something on a stick!!

Oh, I also want to get a key lime pie on a stick! We have been to Key West twice and I have forgotten both times!

For anyone on the fence about attending or not attending MNSSHP, I HIGHLY recommend it! It is an AWESOME party and worth every penny! I think it may be the best parade I have ever seen and Hallowishes is among my fav. of all fireworks!

thanks for the heads up!

DH and I are hoping to do the trolley, eat key lime pie and cookies, visit a watering :drinking1 hole or two and soak up the merriment. This is our 1st visit, and all of the great people on here have been hugely helpful in giving great ideas and advice.

We are planning just a strole around Key West, it sounds quite do-able by foot. I have never been before, so really looking forward to seeing it, and all the talk of frozen key lime pie on a stick is getting me super excited!

Janet and I plan to do Key West on foot as well. Key Lime is on my menu for at least one stop maybe two.

I am hoping that the oil does not hinder our cruise in any way. Sounds like they expect the oil to be moving up the east coast of Florida within the next two weeks.

One day closer and still counting!!!

Good news and Bad news on tonights news. The bad has me nervous about our cruise.
The Good news was that BP says it can likely cap the oil leak by the end of this month.
The Bad news was that the already leaked oil looks like it may make it's way into the Gulph loop and head up the Eastern Sea Board. The map they showed, showed the path right up the Eastern Florida Coast heading towards Canada. This would likely affect our cruise wouldn't it?

Do you all think it could be cleaned up within the next 3 + months?:confused3

I have no idea but I have heard no news stories about the cruises out of New Orleans LA and Galveston TX being stopped or altered due to the oil. It seems to me that the Oil that will be found up the east coast will be less than the oil at the gulf ports. heard that they only expect to find Tar balls in Florida.

So now we need to watch and worry about the oil and Hurricains. When it rains it pours.

Key Lime Pie on a stick is AMAZING!!! Will definately stop for some. Last time we walked up and bought train tickets. The train is nice, we got off on the opposite end of Duval and walked back to the ship so, I could do some shopping. It's not a long walk and you can stop and look around, we went to Margaritaville for drinks.

Happy 4th of July!

Here is a photo I took last night of the Celebrate America Fireworks!

Hope everyine has a safe and happy holiday!

Wow, that is an awesome picture! You are so talented! The height of my talent is being able to order fe's on Ebay, and asking kind Diser's to personalise magnets for me

Just made this for you all for today!

Thanks for the cool pic, tj! That has now replaced the Mad Hatter as my Desktop image for a while :thumbsup2

So DW & I have had an eventful weekend around home (for once). We went to see Toy Story 3 :3dglasses yesterday. We really enjoyed it, but came to the same conclusion. All the Toy Story movies have the same basic plot structure: toys in jeopardy, one toy gets lost, all work together to get back where they should be. It's not a huge problem, but its been what, 11 years (wow, I feel old) since Toy Story 2 came out? A bit of a change from the plot line of 1 & 2 would have been nice.

We started on our FE gifts a while back, but didn't really get too far. That has changed this weekend, too!!!:banana::banana: We made some good progress on what we're going to do and how we'll do it. We also were organizing our Door Decorations and sand toys, so we were very much in vacation mode.

I also have a question that some of you might have the answer to: DW & I are Silver Castaway Club Members, and on this cruise we'll be joined by my parents (in a different state room), on their first Disney Cruise. If both cruises are paid off, and our reservations are linked, we were wondering if we (DW & myself) would be able to book excursions and Palo brunch for all four of us at the 90 day mark of if we'd have to wait until the standard booking window to open at 75 days.

Hope everyone has a safe & happy 4th of July!
