.................Our room
From 2 down to one.
Obviously it is no secret these cruises are expensive.....
And something just wasnt setting right with me on the 2 room thing, so we can get back about $1700.
Any thoughts to help me let go of our private room and verandah on this cruise.
Oh wow- what a huge price difference! I think if we could get our total cost down to just $1700 we would totally do it- the only hesitation being losing the balcony. But wow...for the savings it's almost - how could you not?
Being that we have no choice but to do 2 rooms on
DCL- I can say of course we would try squeezing back into one room if we could, in fact that is one of the reasons we are doing
RCCL next month since we CAN all stay in one room still. And since your kids are older you may not even really lose all THAT much of your privacy..if they hang in the Stack til late you all may just be there for the sleep (and the getting ready but maybe that could be staggered or you and/or Mike could shower up in the spa for the extra space)? I do know I would get rid of the extra room in a heartbeat to save THAT much $$$, as far as giving up the balcony for the inside that is a little more difficult especially since you might want the little bit of seclusion that affords to sit out there and relax. So I guess it would depend on the amount of difference between the $1700 for the inside and the cost of one balcony room. Ay. $1700- what a GREAT price!!!!!
Whatever room setup you decide on you will still be on the cruise and having all the fun so I say do it as cheap as you can- why not? !!!
And I would LOVE to hear more about Disapalooza!! WOW!! What a great rate you got at that hotel, Nenner1! If I did that, my family would end up in the broom closet probably.
Ok- back to work-
It was wonderful- I don't know if you know exactly what it was but it was a private party at DHS (TSMM) after closing (9:30-midnight) given by the Dis/Dis Unplugged podcast/Dreams Umlimited Travel. It did cost a small amount ($25/pp) but what a great party! The green army men and Sarge escorted everyone back after the park had been cleared of day guests (I think the kids thought that was the best part- snickering at all the "poor souls" having to leave so we could go in and have the place all to ourselves LOL. I think the final count was 688 diser's and podcast listeners participating. It was so cool to walk through the empty park back to
Pixar Place (which got pretty full when all of us got back there). There were tables set up with black tablecloths and candlelight, an all you can eat buffet with a Carnival/Fair theme- Sausages and Peppers, Corndog Nuggets, Nachos, Funnel Cakes, Cotton candy, Popcorn/Caramel Popcorn. The food was pretty darn good IMO also. Corndog nuggets were fantastic- I ate a TON of them!!! There was also entertainment- a balloon guy who made disney characters out of balloons for the kids (we had to wait quite a while in his line but he interacted well with the kids and got them all fired up) The character spot there was open for the first hour or so and Buzz and Woody were there for Meet & Greets- virtually NO wait at all (there were about 3 or 4 families in front of us)...and of course the centerpiece of the party TSMM..all you can ride- again virtually no lines. At the beginning of the party it was walk on/walk off/walk on again with no wait at all but as the eating and socializing outside slowed and the riding heated up later in the evening the wait did creep up to about 5 minutes. It was not longer than that. W e did get somewhat of a slow start riding since we did wait for a LONG time for Savannah to get her Tigger balloon plus we ate first and also did the character M&G before our first ride. So with a few short breaks to get drinks or bathroom or this & that we ended up riding 6 or maybe 7 times.
We did stay to the bitter end (walked out of the park right at 12:00) and I couldn't believe how fast the time FLEW. If they do it again next year (which I don't know if they will or not since they have the Podcast Cruise next December) I TOTALLY recommend attending!
The room- we have become huge marks for Hotwire! We have gotten some really good rooms for SUPER cheap- you just have to know how to crack the code so you know where you are staying. That is something we learned over yonder on Cruise Critic. Hotwire doesn't tell you which hotels you are choosing , just what star rating they are. For instance all we knew was that we were getting a 3 1/2 star hotel for $59/night and the general location. But there is a code in their listing which indicates which hotel it is and there are websites out there that break the code so you know what you are getting. Can't beat the value!!!

Glad you had a great time nenner
Even if i am extemely jealous!!
Aww, I'm sorry I don't mean to rub it in

I know you guys had a great time anyway. Plus it was totally worth it since we were already in Orlando and would have been there anyway but to drive over (and back) that late for just a few hours (that literally FLEW by) I think you guys made the right decision.
UUGGGHHHH!

I think I'm losing my mind! I told my neice I am throwing her a baby shower, and set up the EVENT on Facebook via Private invite only. I allowed my neice on as administrator so she can directly invite her friends, whom I dont' know all of.
I just took a look at the list so far.
16 are YES'S
5 are MAYBE'S
AND
66 have YET TO RSVP,
66!
This is happening at my house? I had no idea she even knew that many people well enough to invite to something like this. I haven't even invited other relatives yet! Now what do I do? I may turn it into a potluck so the food is covered, I think I may have to rent a Hall, but thats an expense I hadn't factored in. What have I gotten myself into?
Oh my gosh!!!! I don't know how long they have to RSVP but I'm thinking it's likely that many of them won't actually attend. I know the stress of having a shower in your house though- my sister threw mine (at MY house LOL since it is bigger than hers and more centrally located)..It was only about 25 people though and THAT was way enough so I feel your pain. I think a potluck is a great idea! I hope you don't have to rent the hall (although that does make setup/cleanup easier I know it is way more costly). You'll probably have to wait to get a better count with 66 of them left to respond!!

Good luck!!!
