Bad news. It looks like we will be backing out of this cruise. My company is owned by religious Jews and we are closed for two weeks (one each during the fall and spring holidays), which in 2010 with be the week of September 22nd in the fall. At the time we booked this cruise, there wasn't anything available during that week. The magic will be coming back from it's European itineraries and we're not interested in the shorter Bahamian cruises, so we took this cruise thinking it would work out. Having just come back from 10 days on the Queen Mary 2, and two weeks off from work, we realized what a burden taking the additional time off turned out to be. So it looks like next year will be a cruise on a non-DCL cruise line and we will move these reservation to the week of Oct. 12 in 2011, probably the same Western Cruise. Too bad, since we were looking forward to cruising with you all and doing a Halloween cruise, but the good news is we will be on the Carnival Freedom in a suite for less than what the balcony was costing us on DCL.

We are sorry that you will not be able to cruise with us. Enjoy what you do end up doing as life to way too short to sweat the small stuff. The world is small and maybe we will be able to meet at some future point.

I hope you are feeling better! I HATE being sick for Christmas- it is the WORST!! My family has had the stomach flu so many times on Christmas i can't even count them!! Also had the regular flu or some other "holiday stealing bug" and that's not fun either. The best part is that we host all the holidays, and usually everyone still comes.

Thanks for all the good wishes. We will be moving our 2010 DCL reservations to the 10/16/2011 Mexican Riviera. I can't believe my wife is agreeing to fly to LA for this cruise! So if any of you are thinking that far ahead, come join us.

THe port in LA is not very pretty although they may spruce it up since Wonder is going to be there LONG TERM.

Hey everyone...hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

A little gift came from a Cruise Critic friend who emailed me copies of the Independence OTS cruise Compasses (RCCL's equivalent of the Navigators on DCL)..now we can REALLY start planning! I had been working off last years' info and quite a bit has changed so I do have some work to do on my spreadsheet. We can really start geting excited now though (27 more days!!!)

Sandy the Freedom is the sister ship of the Indy so stay tuned as I'm sure I will do a trip report of some sort. In fact my cousin and uncle just got off Freedom a few weeks ago, it is their favorite ship. The Riviera sounds great too! When we plan to go out to DL in a few years I hope we can squeeze in a Wonder cruise...we'll see.....

it was part of our family gift for christmas and yes they are fun!!!!

We have had a good time so far. My DD really likes it and i thik onece we get it all set up good in the family room that my DS will enjoy some family time with us too.

Didnt know it could do all it does.

Hello Everyone were new to the group!!! We just told our kids about the cruise( It was a Christmas gift)
This will be our fourth Disney Cruise, and we just can't wait.

Welcome Royfam, glad to have you aboard! What a fabulous Christmas Gift. I've actually been able to still keep this cruise a secret from my kids! I thought I might end up spilling the beans over Christmas, but was actually able to reign in my excitement! My goal is to keep the secret till the day before if not THE DAY we leave. We'll see.

What are the numbers in the FE exchange so far? I think I'd like to get started on ideas, I know numbers will very likely grow as of the spring, but just wondering if it is already surpassed our group of 10 on the Wonder last fall.

My kids received their Wii for Christmas of '08, and I think it's the best system I've ever played. We have them all in our house, (teen son has an xbox 360, teen daughter has a playstation ). We recently purchased Wii Resort, and I LOVE that game the best, well perhaps just as much as the Disney Dance Grooves for Wii. What I like about Wii, is there are MORE games available for ALL age groups. So something that appeals to everyone in my family (a 6, 12, 17, 18 year olds as well as DH and myself).
