This wil be my first NON CRUISE, NON COMMANDO Style VACA.

I did the itenerary this way for the sake of my parents;),
But admittedly, i am glad to have some rest time this vaca.

IT has gotten coldand windy here which makes me think i need to repackmy suitcase or add some extra jeans and a long sleeve shirt.

SEE YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I see that some of you have taken multiple cruises. What makes you keep coming back? What's the best part?

I know next to nothing about cruises so I'll be interested in what you have to say.

I think I will break out in song...:rotfl::rotfl: These are a few of my favorite things....
1. We get to see multiple places without having to pack and unpack.
2. All our meals are taken care of.
3. Sea days are a great way to just relax.
4. On DCL we get to cruise and get our Disney fix too.
5. We get to meet great people at the meet and greets.
6. Good entertainment.

All of this and the having staff at each corner who seems to know not only what I need but what I might want even before I do!!

Can't wait to go back. Great question Lois

I don't know the best way to answer that one. Except maybe just to say the best part is the whole thing. We had done many land based vacations and enjoyed them but ever since we did our first cruise we are just hooked. The choices- you can pack it full of adventure or just relax the whole time or a little bit of both- the wonderful service, the understated elegance yet ability to go casual...then add in the Disney "magic" (figuratively)- It's just the perfect vacation experience for us. I know that doesn't really help answer your question but...all I can say is you'll love it!!!

SEE YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great time...hope it warms up (I'm sure it will) Get lotsa CANDY! :thumbsup2

We just got back from a WDW quickie! Had a great time. The weather was downright chilly, which is better than HOT I guess. Pop was fun, we had never been there before and the kids really enjoyed it. The sleeping situation could have been better though. (5 of us on 2 double beds, - Sarah would not sleep in the crib, she got a little scared from being in an unusual place) It was really cheap though and certainly sufficient for just one night. ;)

Food and Wine at Epcot was great ..BOY was it crowded! Really nuts!! Even so, we didn't have to wait too long in kiosk lines, the worst was Canada and that one was probably only 10 minutes. The food was really good...Cheddar Cheese Soup is always a winner, my faves other than that were the Chocolate Lava Cake , The Ham Croquettes in San Juan, Chicken Tzatziki (?) in Greece and of course Milk Chocolate Creme Brulee in France. We really hit the wall only about 1/3 of the way around though...:upsidedow I'd say by Morocco we were mostly full and pretty much in an overindulgence trance.

We also LOVED the new Sum of All Thrills attraction at Innoventions! Don't miss that one next time you visit Epcot!

So back to the real world, and now I can throw myself back into cruise planning full speed!

Well, now that you asked.…

It’s great traveling to a lot of different places and only having to unpack once.

Castaway Cay-It’s beautiful with something for everyone from the most active families to the most laid back with no kids (like us). They give you the impression that the island is your personal paradise. :beach:

The staff looks for ways to make you happy. They define the phrase “to pamper.”

The shows are great.popcorn::

Because you pay up front for your food and entertainment, you don’t have to worry about it during the cruise.

Days at sea.-there you are in your own little world nothing to do but relax and enjoy. They’re like snow days with really good food and much better weather.;)

Meeting people from all over the world.

Disney is expert at people moving and make both arrival and departure as pain free as it can be.:drive:

It’s Disney.

I can’t speak from my own experience, but friends we’ve cruised with (both the kids and parents) say that the children’s programs are the best.

You are in for a treat::yes::

Actually, we're changing dates. My wife and I booked the same cruise for 11/13/10 (on the 10/12/09 Magic Eastern Caribbean) to coincide with our anniversary, but wanted to visit WDW first for Epcot's Food & Wine festival before cruising, so it seemed to make sense to switch to the 10/30 sailing. We called Mouse Fan Travel this morning, and were able to get a cat 6 verandah stateroom on deck 5 right below the one we had already booked on deck 6. We also saved a few hundred dollars by changing dates. My name is Sam, and my wife's name is Joan (Joanie). We live in Hershey, PA and visit WDW freqently. (We own DVC and retired a year ago)
This will be our 3rd Disney cruise - 4 days on the Wonder in Dec. of '08, and the 7 day Eastern Caribbean we took a month ago being the first two.
It will be just the 2 of us on this cruise, as it was on the first two. We are scheduled for the late seating.
We have been on two non-Disney cruises: a 2-week cruise/tour in Alaska (Princess) in the summer of '08, and a two week Caribbean on Princess March of '09. Our son lives in Pittsburg with his wife and our two grandchildren - Justin who is a senior this year, and Hannah who is in 6th grade. None of them have cruised with us, although we'd love to take Hannah and Justin.
Hello to all of you. We're looking forward to getting to know you, and meeting you next October (only 376 days to go)

I know next to nothing about cruises so I'll be interested in what you have to say.

The reasons we keep coming back:

1. All inclusive food drinks etc
2. Kids are safe, and can have fun without bothering us about being bored
3. I can relax....Which i have a hard time doing
4. The ocean is beautiful
5. The scenery is beautiful
6. Get to see lot of different places
7. PALO
8. Adult area
9. looking forward mostly on this cruise to relaxing.
10 and enjoying activities have not yet done on board.

I was just notified that I was picked to be be a DCL House Party Host.

With any luck one of my guests will win a free cruise.

I'll go for 999 - as many ghosts a are in the HM :hmghost:

For cruising in general it's what a lot of people have said:
  • Traveling to different destinations without having to pack and unpack
  • My wife will say, not having to cook for a week
  • Relaxing on deck with a good book and a hot sun

For DCL ,specifically, even though we can probably get better deals on other cruise lines, depending on the itinerary, there are some things Disney does that nobody else can do as well. And the Disney theming alone is worth the extra $$$.
