Welcome Pamela!! I only have one question "Just what time do we need to be at your house to assist with eating this Sick amount of food!!" I love seafood and can't seem to cook it the way I like it. So I must pay the price and eat it out! Enjoy your party it sounds like a blast really wish I lived closer.

Well, it's only a little road trip! Come on by!! :thumbsup2 Seriously- it IS a SICK amount of food, but it's really, really good. Everyone's favorite recipes- if you want some of them, so you can stop going out for your fish, let me know! :)

Jeff as far as I know we were each making our own. I know on my last cruise some folks got theirs made through Cafe Press but then others got denied due to copyright (the Disney design). Don't know if that still happens or not, but I was just going to buy Tshirts and iron-on transfers at Michaels and make them myself for our family.

In fact I saw somewhere on the dis someone made a cool cruise T shirt with their logo on the front and an itinerary on the back listed like concert dates. I thought that was neat. I was thinking for the boys I would make theirs with a small pocket logo on front and then a full logo on back, and for the girls large logo on the front and then the itinerary listing on back. :)

Those ideas are AWESOME!!! I LOVE the one of all the ports on the back- I may have to steal that, if you don't mind!:thumbsup2

OK. . . so, I am a morning person, Linda is not . . . I'm downstairs on my computer updating our roll call and Linda comes down, showered and dressed asking if I wanted to go out to breakfast - um!! yes!! my favorite meal of the day! :cool1:

So, we head out . . . are just a few minutes from the diner and Linda says, "oh! by the way, I turned your alarm off because I saw you had it set for 11:50 PM" - I think my head spun so fast it almost flew off!! And of course I am shouting. . .

"PLEASE TELL ME YOU ARE KIDDING!!!" :scared1:

She then explains to me, "11:50 PM is 10 minutes before MIDNIGHT!!" :thumbsup2

Apparently she forgot that I knew how to tell time . . . :confused3

She offered to go back home and re-set it before breakfast but I knew that risked her not going back out again . . . so, we are home and the alarm is reset!!

that. . . was a close one!

I will be up. I want to book the Palo Brunch. DH says he's not interested in doing Palo dinner :scared1::scared1::scared1: WHAT???????

Never having had it before, I guess we won't Miss it, as we won't know what we are missing, riiiiiggghhhht?

So since I won't go to a Palo dinner on my own, I can book a spot for another couple. So let me know anyone, if you need a dinner booked for you! :)

Judy, Janet and I have Dinner booked for 11/1/2010 at 8 PM. You are welcomed to join us if you want. I prefer dinner over brunch and have not done tea yet. Just let us know so we can figure out how to add you to our ressie.

Missy and I like to eat, but are not big fans of formal settings so we enjoy Palo Brunch much more. The dinner is nice, but like most formal dining experiences you order off a menu and you should dress appropriately.

Palo Brunch has an incredible selection of foods, instead of choosing one item of a menu, and it is more casual which is right up our alley.

We booked a dinner mostly to have something to barter with later. Many times the Palo restaurant manager will do what he(she) can to get you a second reservation at Palo if a time is available. If you have a reservation to trade my guess is that may "grease the wheels" a little bit. :goodvibes

Maybe a gratuity couldn't hurt either. ;)

Is the group meet still on for Palo Brunch 11/4 @11:00 a.m.? Does anyone know if there are any time slots left for that Brunch?

Thanks,
Linda

Steve and I would love to take you up on your offer it is still open! :)

Thank you for all the nice welcomes! I'll be trying to stay up to book Palo tonight also. If I can, we'll try and get the brunch with everyone. I happen to really, really love afternoon tea, but DH isn't as much a fan. He'll do it with me because he is a wonderful guy, but if there is anyone else out there who would be interested in afternoon tea, maybe we could meet for that and let DH out of it :)

I plan to do a lot of reading here today and at the DCL site. It turned into a crazy week for us and I haven't really looked at much of anything yet. DS left on a trip with my parents this morning. They are going to Yosemite, Sequoia and San Francisco. Last weekend my father fell - the steps on his deck detached while he was walking down them. He managed to twist enough that he took most of the impact on his side (rather than his face) and really banged up his left arm. On Tuesday he finally went into the doctor because the arm was getting infected. Up until yesterday morning it was questionable they were going to let him leave town! We were making backup plans where I would take his place if needed. Happily, they decided yesterday that he was responding to all the antibiotics they've been pumping into him and OK'd him for travel.

Absolutely! Thanks Grandma4ever for that kind offer too, but I think we'll just enjoy the brunch I'll book with the group.

Beth, let me know your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice of evenings and times, and I'll do my best to book you one of them! :)

AND, if you would like, the evening you are at Palo, your girls are more than welcome to join my family for dinner in the main restaurant that evening.
I believe we'll be sharing a table with eyes4mickey, so that would make 10 at a table, would they add two more chairs, does anyone know?

I completely agree. We looked at the menus for Palo and one was mmmeh and then other was Now that is interesting. Being that this will be our of first cruise, its unlikely for the brunch, but if we can swing it, we will try for the Thurs 11:00.

I'm afraid I will be spamming the thread a bit today as I try to catch up!

Just noticed that not only is there another family from Illinois, but they are actually from the town next-door! Hey Geneva people! We are just one town over in West Chicago :) :wave2:

Also, saw the info for Nachi Cocum in Cozumel and on the schedule chart it says "FULL" - does that mean that they have their 100 people for the day and are not accepting reservations anymore?

Are past trips to Cozumel, we have gone snorkeling with a small private outfit. It has been fantastic, but we were thinking of trying something new this time. Has anyone been there relatively recently? Our last trip was prior to a fairly major hurricane so I don't know how that affected things there.

Hi Judy-- we're at the community pool watching the twins swim like little minnows! I'll pm you when I get home and review the nights plus look at nenner's helpful post of a few days ago! Beautiful day here...

Yes, Nachi is at their Limit for that day, and it would appear that it's ALL from our Cruise!!!!
There is still a few spaces left for the Captain Marvin's tour we are doing in Grand Caymen. We have the boat that fits 75 comfortably and there are currently 63 of us booked. That is a snorkeling tour though but also visits Stingray City. :)

Glad to hear your father is doing well. When I hear about falls like that, My first thought is concern that they may have broken their hip. So glad that was not the case with your dad!

As for High Tea, I would definately be interested in that! What day time were you thinking of?:)

Hi tjbaggott! I'm pretty open on when to do Tea - I assume it is still only offered on sea days, so there are only a couple of options. Does any day work better for you? At this point we have no real plans and are trying to keep things rather open and free-flowing for this trip. We'll plan a few things but are trying not to schedule everything down to the minutes this time! Our last cruise was spectacular, but with over 1000 DISer related people on board (around 500 families) we ended up with tons of scheduled events. We had a blast and met many wonderful people, but we are hoping to actually relax a little this time :)

We are thnking about Capt Marvins - we did that trip on our last Western and really enjoyed it. I'm supposed to be looking to see if there is anything else that looks cool for Cayman, but if there isn't anything else that strikes us we'll sign up for this trip again.

ETA: Just looked at the schedule again and if brunch is on Thursday, we might want to do Tea on Monday. It is nearly impossible to have brunch and then have any room at all for Tea (been there, done that!)

ETA2: Once we pick a day for Tea, should 1 of us try and book it tonight or should we both go for it and if we are lucky enough to both get it, we could see if anyone else here would like to join us?

Would someone who doesn't actually like tea enjoy the tea? Like are the scones and stuff worth the charge themselves? lol

I don't like champagne but am planning on doing the brunch and just figuring I can give my glass to someone else.

ETA: Or maybe I can use it to try different teas and see if there are ANY I like?

TiffanyD - I think the scones alone are enough reason for Tea - but then again I ADORE scones :) There are also little sandwiches and deserts. They do have MANY different teas including the weird (only my opinion!) herbal kind.

Well, since High Tea is apparently a very coveted event, I hear a reservation is Difficult to get. So I think we should both try to book it on that Monday (I agree with you about it best to do High Tea on a different day than the brunch), and hopefully one of us will get it. If we both do, I think we can get a few other ladies to join us no problem!:)

OK I am going to try to get a high tea as well as brunch

So is this also available on the 2 sea days and key west? Or just the 2 sea days?

Not sure. I expect to find out when I get online at midnight! I hope the system isn't too bogged down tonight :)
