I'm confused again, so what else is new? This time I've got questions about how main dining works. Is there one time to be seated during main dining or are there multiple times? I have an old 2008 Passporter and it says in there the main seating is at 5:30, 5:45 or 6:00 ... but on a thread I read that the seating time for a Med cruise was at 6:00pm. So what's correct? If there are three times for main dining, do all the people in the time slots wait and go to the dinner show afterwards all at once? How long are those shows typically? Also, could someone also help me figure out what rotation I should request if we are scheduled for a Palo dinner on Sunday (Halloween) and we don't want to miss whatever it is that occurs in Animators Palate.

As far as I know, Staggered dining is not happening on these cruises. We didn't have it last fall. Dining times are 5:30 for main, and 8 something for late (not sure on the exact late time as we've never had late dining). THere are two shows, one for each of the dining groups. The early seating goes to the late show and the late seating goes to the early show.

We're not dressy-up people. DH will wear Dockers and a polo shirt for cruise casual and semi-formal, but I don't even know if we'll go to the dining room on "formal" night. Morgan loves dresses, so it's not an issue for her, but DH does not want to pack a suit, and I don't have anything appropriate for "formal" (although I know it's easier for women). If we do go, DH will have a light jacket on with a shirt...probably no tie even.

All early diners see the 8:30 show and all late diners see the early show (6 or 6:30), that hasn't changed at all.

We have Palo dinner the same time as you and requested APPLAPL (we don't care for the Parrot Cay regular menu). That puts you in AP for the "show" night 1. You will be in AP again night 5 but that is Pirate night and there is no AP "show" that night, just the pirate parade (limbo). thats what worked best for us. You could also request PLAAPLA in which case your AP "show" night would be night 4.

I think I have the opposite problem as everyone else - my Dad went out and bought a tux! (it was on sale for $99 since Sid Silvers was going out of business - he got the jacket, shirt, tie, vest and two pairs of pants for the one time, low, low price....).

My mother's formal dress is light pink, long and sparkly so it will look wonderful with her sitting next to my dad's tux.

My dress is long but very plain (and black). Now I wonder about getting something more formal to go with them?

And we're not really "shorts" people (well, my dad maybe but for pants he won't touch dockers - he only wears dress slacks). My mother often wears dresses (mainly because it's easier for us to help dress her) and I either wear pants or skirts. I only own 1 pair of capris and even though it's been a scorcher of a summer, they are still sitting neatly folded, unworn this year.

I'm thinking now, we're going to be too dressed up for dinner on the cruise?

I wouldn't worry. My FIL always says it is better to be over dressed than underdressed!!

As far as your plain black dress, why not just dress it up with some jewlery? The plain black dress is so pefect to dress up or down. Just a thought!

I think you in your black dress with some nice accessories, standing to side of your mom, and your dad in his black tux standing on the other side of your mom, Would make an Absolutely Beautiful Picture! I can picture it and I think it's perfect!

Well I just tired Mozilla Fire Fox, and the tip calculator page fully opened. I have no idea how to change the settings in Internet Explorer but have put in an email to our local computer geek to come see what he can do.

I don't think you'll be too dressed up. I think as long as you are comfortable with what you are wearing you'll be fine & have fun.

I am an application programmer and database administrator. Without boring you with the details there are certain aspects of web application programming that are not 100% compatible across all web browsers.

Yes, there are many ways to browse the web including Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, to name a few.

Scripting languages like JavaScript are notorious for not being compatible across all browsers. Moreover, there are capability issues within the same browser depending on what version you are using.

Edit: To be fair it isn't a problem with JavaScript, but the way different browsers implement the Document Object Model... boring, snooze...

OK, enough of the boring stuff. The bottom line is it can be difficult to create a website that runs the same on all browsers and browser versions.

My educated guess is there is nothing wrong with your computer nor your Internet connection. It is that your current web browser doesn't play nice with the Tip Calculator website.

How do I find out what version of IE I have? We had 7 before and refused the upgrade to 8. But the guy who reformated my computer when I got the new memory and new processor, may have put that upgrade in. I never had that issue PRIOR to this. So perhaps it really is the version I have.

You can check the version under the Help menu. Across the top of Internet Explorer is a standard text menu, from left to right it reads: File Edit View Favorites Tools Help

If you click on the Help menu option you will see the last choice is "About Internet Explorer".

When I click on that option a small window pops up with information about the current Internet Explorer version.

Mine reads, "version 8.0.6001.18702"

I have version 8. As I didn't have this issue with version 7, I thought it would be an easy thing to just uninstall 8 and then download and install 7. Well the first part was fairly easy, but I can't find a version 7 for vista ANYWHERE. The Microsoft website says "You have Vista and Version 7 came installed on Vista" and thats all. It won't let me download version 7. Now I'm stuck with FireFox, and I don't like that, I liked my IE!! UGGGHHHH.

Update, I believe now that when I uninstalled the Version 8 it was an update to version 8 that I uninstalled, and this automatically reverted it back to version 7. I can't find the help button on this one, but I can open the tip calculator site. So maybe all is well.

Good Morning Guys, I can get over how quick time is going by. I really need to get started with my diet, especially as I'll have free dining for a week at Disney. We'll be staying at the Pop Century, but I am worried about eating too much before the cruise

As far as your plain black dress, why not just dress it up with some jewlery? The plain black dress is so pefect to dress up or down. Just a thought!

Hello All!

Unless you are going to Palo, please don't stress over what you are wearing to dinner. You will see people dressed in a wide range of styles! Just remember you are on vacation - and enjoy it!!

They are strict at Palo, but anywhere else, they won't kick you out of a dining room!!

I have never used a Travel Agent before so I am not familiar with how it works but I see that other peopple get great deals so I have a few questions....

We would like to book another cruise for next year, we usually choose the cheapest week....we just want to get on the Dream!

Can I book a cruise now and if i can get a better deal on the ship, book that too then cancel the original?

I heard about rebooking onboard (we do this) then switching to DU and getting more incentives added to what DCL already gave.

This time we are happy to book an interior room, like i said...we just want to get on the Dream!!

Can you rebook on the cruise and get a GTY room?

Whats the best way to go about it...I want to be prepared this time when we "sit at the little desk" on the cruise......lol

Horrible Dream last night! We were leaving the Magic on our Grand Caymen Day, for our Captain Marvin's excursion. When on the Captain Marvins boat, heading out to our snorkeling area, I suddenly realized that I had packed my DH's and DS'S Bathing suits but had FORGOTTEN MINE!! Mine was back on the ship! So the captian Marvin's guy stopped by a store at the shore. We all went in to shop for a bit. They had some ladies bathing suits, but the cheapest one was $300.00!!!! And then I notice YOU WERE ALL GONE! Including my DH and DS's. I was left in the store to find a bathing suit, while you all went snorkeling! Hours later, after spending way too much on a stupid bathing suit and or some reason, also a few stalks of ruhbarb, Captain Marvin with just my DH and DS's Came back to pick me up. He had left you all at the Stingray City. By the time we got to stingray City, it was time to head back to the ship! I awoke right at that point, all upset THen realized it was just a dream!
