Good morning. Cloudy and supposed to rain, again!!! Like Sue, it feels like we never had summer and it is already August.

We put up the cupboards in the laundry room. Wow! What a difference. It looks soooo nice. No more clutter, plus I was able to empty out a cupboard in my kitchen, so I can uncram the others a bit.

Nothing else going on.

Bonnie: I am sure you had a nice weekend.

Jeanne: Are you guys still striking? You haven't said anything lately. Glad to hear from you.

Sue: I have to get off the goody bandwagon and back on a stricter diet again. I really want to lose those last 10 pounds. Any suggestions on how to get motivated again?

Lori: Only 11 hours? You slacker! ;)

Barb: the luau sounds like fun!

Julie: Are you ever going to give me a date to get together or do we just have to show up on your doorstep?????????????

Good morning. Had a very nice weekend.

First of all, hats off to Susan. Poor thing. She carried the thread this weekend. Thanks!:)

For your straw bags, Susan, how about some bubbles for the bon voyage party?

Jeanne, I was very excited to hear from you. I get to wondering if you don't love us anymore when we don't hear from you.

Barb, the luau sounds like fun. Hope the goodies arrive in time.

Denine, sounds like you are happy with the new cupboards. My soon to be SIL works as a Warranty Supervisor for a const. co. and got us oak cabinets for the garage a while ago. I moved out all my recipe books and a few big appliances out there. Sure was nice. I had to :( save the rest for Ted. After all, it is his garage.

Sooooo Bonnie, how was your weekend?????

My gums are sore so I am cutting out the teeth whitening for awhile. I have dropped about 3 shades so far. That is after 6 days. I will probably start back again on Thursday.

OMG, the wedding is in a month. I am now starting to stress. Didn't think I would. How do we get the flowers there? Flowers for the altar????? Who can pick up Grandma and take her home? Do we call everyone who didn't bother to RSVP? What to make for the shower? What if, what if, what if!!!!!! My gray hairs are getting plentiful.

Things to do and places to go. See ya.

Sorry, should have posted this when I complained. When is everyone going to WDW this Dec? We are thinking, just thinking, about it. We thought we could forego Christmas gifts for a trip.

Hey Sandy, I'll pick up Grandma for ya.
I like Grandma's. Their great advice never goes out of style. :)
I think someone in Colorado made the Rain Gods mad and our rain is being sent out East. Or maybe it is visa-versa in reverse. Humm. Well, sorry about "the lost summer" guys. Wish I could relate.
Katie had a friend sleep over and her Mom ended up staying home from work sick today. She keeps saying its just the worst allergies she's ever had, sore throat, lethargy ... yea right. Just watch, she'll have West Nile. I'm abducting the daughter until the Mom gets seen by a Dr. or can stay out of bed for over 30 mins at a time. Her husband gets home in a few mins.

No news with me. I think I like it that way.;) Take care all.
Lori

Denine - just remember your goal and why you want to lose the weight in the first place. Remember it's not about starving it's about making good choices (drinking your water and walking)!! you can do it!! Remember, you were my motivation so you know you can do it! Plus you must be getting more exercise with Kaleigh getting more and more mobile. Wait until she starts walking (and running)!

Julie - I'll let you know about the papers when they arrive. I gotta start thinking about what excursions if any to do this time. Ideas anyone?

Sandy - thanks for the bubbles idea. That's a good one. Glad you are getting results with the whitening but I think you are wise to let your gums have a break.

Jeanne - so good to hear from you again. I was wondering if you were on strike too. You need to give us an update.

Lori - It was nice to see your quick HI and green bouncy dude!! Has school started back for your kids?

Barb, Sandy, and Lori - I wish I could send you some of our rain. Luckily I did manage to get the water aerobics class in this evening. As long as it is not thundering and/or lightening we can have class.

Bonnie - how was your weekend? I hope you and Glenn had a great time together.

Later!

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc BACK FROM VACATION!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hi everyone! We had a great vacation in Michigan. The wedding that we went to was just beautiful. The weather was perfect. The only drawback was that I got strep throat the day of the rehearsal dinner :( :( I don't think that I have had strep since high school!!!!! But I got some good drugs right away and was back on the road. I wasn't going to let it ruin my vacation.

Bonnie -- Hope that you had a great weekend!!

Sandy -- I sure was thinking of you this weekend at the wedding. It was so beautiful and the tears were flowing! ;)

Hopefully our computers will be up at work tomorrow and I can check in .....we are having 2 servers replaced :(

Have a good night everyone!

Of course! We walked around old Phila on Saturday, Christening took all day Sunday...the dress looked the same but shorter and it was obvious that the entire dress was remade...when people complimented me I told them I did not make the dress she was wearing. The bonnet was on her head all of 5 minute. Glenn held her...first for him and actually held the bottle when I had to pay attention to little sara...he did very well. Made faces at her and she started to try and copy...it was a bit funny.
Sunday night we went to see Seabiscuit...great movie...a little slow in the beginning but what a story...I cried of course...happy tears.
Glenn was supposed to leave 6PM but the flight was delayed until 8:45PM...I was a happy person for that one!!!

Sandy! We are leaving for WDW on 12/2 and staying until the 8th...got a great deal at the swan...$139 / night with free upgrade to lakeview...a deal they are running for AP holders. We went with the Swan because they are supposed to have that "Heavenly bed"...quilted top, down comforter etc...we'll see. I hope you all go!!!! I was just saying today to Glenn that I wish you guys were going so he could me you all also!

Sue-good job keeping up the thread...can get pretty lonely huh?

Welcome back Laurie!!!! Glad you are feeling better.

Oh well...pretty lonely now but in less than 3 weeks I will be "moving in" with Glenn, as he puts it, for 9 days at least. I can't wait!!!

Enough for now. Missed you all...well, not too much actually considering who was here. Sorry but that's the turth.

Happy days!! Laurie is back. Wow, that was sad about strep and on vacation on top of it. Glad you were on the road to recovery soon. I haven't had strep since I was 3 when it gave me Rheumatic Fever. If I get strep now I could die. Wierd, huh? I would think that I would have to let it go untreated for quite a while though. Even a simple dentist procedure could kill me if the bacteria enters my blood stream. I have to take amoxicillon to combat anything before I go.

Susan, glad you got your water aerobics in. I know how much you like it.

Lori, aren't you a doll to volunteer. I am thinking about a cab or maybe a towncar service. Know of any??? My mom is the greatest. Her choice of a live in mate of 30 years however leaves something to be desired. He has a son that could do it but he doesn't have teeth and has long stringy hair. I am way too much embarrassed to invite him. Don't want to scare off the in laws. By the way, I am going to Lake of the Rockies for the owner/Stacey's mother in law's 60th birthday. Want me to say anything?;) Just kidding.

Glad to see you had a GREAT time this past weekend! I had a feeling that you would!!!! I hope you got my email I sent you this weekend. We stayed at the Swan and the beds are REALLY nice! Don't really need the down comforter at night because the air is on sensors and turns off when there is no movement. You might need it alittle in Dec. but I wouldn't think so. They are nice to sit and lay on during the day.

Susan, for your goodie bags for your cruise how about small size suntan lotion, lanyards for key cards and/or with water proof containers on them, those kraft cheese and crackers (for your wine party of course!!), mini bottles of wine/champagne/wine cooler/etc...., disposalable cameras (maybe the underwater ones), small trail bottles of asprin/tylenol, small bottles of aloe in case of sunburns, a pack or two of gum, small bags of chips/pretzels, a cheap beach towel? Just a few suggestions. That is some of what I tell people who ask me what to bring in day bags besides their bathingsuits when I book a cruise for them.

Jeanne, glad to see you are back and posting. Hopefully you will get some nice weather this weekend. We are suppose to this weekend too, but I'm not going to hold my breathe until I see it.

Laurie, glad to see that you had a nice vacation. You will have to give us the run down of the wedding (the colors, type of wedding dress, bridesmaids etc..) I use to work in a bridal store and I love all that stuff.

Sandy, speaking of weddings, don't worry about it! Relax and everything will work out fine. Usually the flowers for the church and alter are delivered to the church by the florist. If you are doing the flowers, you can usually take it to the church on the rehersal or night before the wedding. Have someone you trust (aunt, friend, neighbor) to make sure the flowers are where they are suppose to be. Have them get to the church hour and half early. Where does Grandma live? You could have one of the groomsmen pick her up or uncle, neice etc. You really need three to four GOOD RELIABLE friends or relatives to help you out. Assign them specific jobs, go over it with each person and then all you need to do is to think about YOU and YOUR FAMILY!!!!!!!! You will be surprised to see how things come together. Hey, since all of us CRUISERS are coming.... WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!:teeth: :teeth: Lori already said that she will get Grandma, so that's one thing down!

Lori keep us posted on Katie's friends mother. Sounds pretty awful! You are such a good Mom!!!!!!!!! You are really a great person for looking out for everyone.

Barb, glad to see you back and posting! Love to see all of your posts!

Denine, what days do you have open? What does this weekend look like? We will get this worked out!

Well, have a good day all!!!!!!

Sandy...about the wedding...did you check with the church to see if there is a wedding ahead of yours? My DIL checked with the people who had a wedding before theirs and they split the cost of the alter flowers. I know you made the bouquets as I recall...are you doing the same for the church? What to make for the shower...How about a cake made from towels? My friend did that for her daughter...it looked like a wedding cake! I can send the directions if you like. Everything will turn out wonderfully. Not to worry but I can't believe it is only one month away...oh...definitely call the people who did not RSVP...just in case it didn't get to them or they mailed the response and it didn't make it back to you. Better to be safe than sorry.

Lori-I will send some of NJ rain... we have a record...16 straight days with rain!!!! Glenn couldn't believe the NJ humidity.

Off to work...check in this evening.

Logoff and they all come out of the woodwork...

You guys did great posting. I had a lot to read.

Julie, thanks for the ideas. I'll use them.

Bonnie, glad you had a great time.

Sandy, sorry to hear your travel agent is no longer there. I'm sure you will find another that you will like. Don't let that stop you from Disney in December!

Laurie, glad yu are back from vacation and sorry to hear about the strep!

Taking the day off to spend one more day with Turner before he goes back to school. Chat later!

Lots of posts!

Bonnie: Glad you had a terrific weekend! Put the gown behind you. It is over.

Sue: I know I can lose these last 10 pounds! Summer just makes me want to eat all those summer goodies. Tomorrow is weigh in. Maybe I will have some success.

Julie: We are busy Saturday but we are free on Friday and Sunday. We can even get together during the week. Whatever is best for Garry's schedule. We are pretty flexible.

Sandy: I remember panic time. Although, Jerry and I were the ones trying to get everything together. Each of our mom's had a shower for us, but we did everything else.

Lori: I had heard that Colorado was getting hard hit with West Nile this year. Let us know about the mom.

Laurie: Welcome back! Sorry to hear you had strep, but at least you are feeling better.

Went to the mall last night. Hadn't been there in a couple of months. I got a pair of sandals I had my eye on for half price and a couple of things for Kaleigh for next summer.

Good Morning!

Hey don't forget me!! I post just about everyday!! Sometimes more then once.

We had such an nice 2 hour rain last night. It was so
relaxing. Bob went to the Y but I stayed home. Probably should
have gone because all I did was sit and feel guilty that I was not doing something. I could have been shampooing carpet or working in my scrap book room or getting the basement ready for Tiffany's party.

In addition to the regular calls I take I am now having to take these technical calls. I am lost. We are really short handed in the unit that normally takes these calls. With all the changes in the business I would guess I will never get off these calls.

Mom finally went to the Dr and is on all kinds of medication. She is feeling better already. She should start posting again.

Barb:smooth:

Good morning all. Thank for all the advice from each and everyone of you. Stacey and Richard decided not to have altar flowers way back in the beginning but I am now not liking that decision. The decision was based out of money I am sure. Gonna strike out today and see what I can do. Yes, we made the bouquets and centerpieces so I was thinking about surprising them with FRESH. But I am sure it would stand out color wise. How about all white? Will check out prices of arches, too. Didn't think about bringing the centerpieces during rehearsal. Good one. The wedding chapel has chairs and not pews. What about bows? Ted and I did our own, too, Denine. It was not this extravagent. It is funny but you want your daughters perfect. Not saying ours wasn't. It was perfect for us.

Barb, rain????? Not one drop here. The clouds did look pretty ominous down your way. Heard Franktown and Parker got hit with 2-3" yesterday.

Yes Denine, we are getting hit with West Nile really bad this year. We have had 5 deaths and 195 infected people. That was a good thought for Lori's neighbor.

Have some shopping and snooping to do for the shower and wedding so I better go get ready. Have a great day everyone.

Look!!!!!!!! I'm posting during the day!!!!!!!! I got a chance to get on the computer now so I am taking it!!!!!!!

Glad to see all the posts! We are finally getting good weather here and it is suppose to be nice through the weekend. FINALLY NO RAIN!!!!!! I was feeling like a drown rat!

Feeling much better lately. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning. I will get my ultrasound date then. I will also have to go in and do a 3 hour blood/sugar test. I had "baby diabetes" ( that is what my sister in law calls it) with Makenzie but not with Garry. I had to do the 3 hour test twice with Garry because they didn't believe that it came back the first time negative. My last visit I had lost 1 lb. They weren't worried about that. They will get on me this time if I lost any more. I didn't gain much with either Makenzie or Garry so I am HOPING that it will be the same with this one. All I know is, if the trip in Dec is still on for us, I will probably look like a walking house!!!!!!! Ask Garry how I looked when we went down there in Dec when I was prego with the Big Guy.

Bonnie, did you take pictures this weekend? If you did, email us some! I would love to see them of Grandma and Glen with Olivia!

Well, gonna go. I will be on later! Have a good one!

Julie, sorry but I have to scold you (I am entitled to as a big sis). Pregnancy is not the time to worry about weight. A healthy weight gain is important for you and the baby. I think Jeanne and Joyce would love to chime in on this one!!

Still haven't heard from DU. Today I met Ted for lunch and now he doesn't seem as interested. Talk about women being wishy washy!!!!

Looked at arrangements. I think I will have Michael's make 2 altar arrangements. They came in priced at $45-55 each. I was amazed at that. Thought it was a very good price. They will be white. Saw tons of pics like that. They will be 18"w X 23"h. I think that is pretty good. I have to go and call the wedding planner at the chapel to see if I can still rent the stands. Did you see Father of the Bride? Gregory is exactly like that. What a love and a hoot.

Ted!!!! Get with the program!!!! Of course you want to go!!!

That is all I have to say until Ted says yes!!!! I am on strike until then!!!!!

SANDY: Joyce & I are going down 11/29/03 to 12/5/03 & are staying at The Dolphin for $129.00. We didn't need the "pillowsoft" mattress like some other people (I'm not mentioning any names Bonnie). Would love to see you two!

Sorry I left you all hanging about the strike. The nurses voted to strike & in the 11th hour the hospital started negotiating in ernest. We got a really nice contract but the most important thing was they had to reinstate a PENSION. Our pension is now managed by our mother union the Operating Engineers & for every hour worked they contribute .75 retroactive to the 1st of the year and I worked plenty of overtime in the beginning of the year. I can now almost see me being able to retire at 62 & I won't have to eat cat food!

Had a great day at work today but this is my three 12's in a row so don't be surprised if I am MIA until Friday.

Hope you all have a great week. I am sending the rain to Colorado!!!!! Toodles:wave: :earsgirl: JEANNE
