Oct 13, 2012 Fantasy who's going

Oh Darn! I wanted my girls to do the tea :faint:

What do you mean no luck on Palo Brunch? Are you already able to make reservations?

There's High Tea, at Palo, that's been discontinued, and then there's Tea With Alice, or Tea With Wendy, depending on who they have for the face character on board I think, that is still being run, so your girls wouldn't be able to do the High Tea in Palo, but, they can do Tea with Alice.

Jillian and I did it when we were on our Med cruise in 2010, it was OK, and it was neat to see the Mad Hatter along with Alice, but not something that we need to do again.

Not sure if it's been decided yet, as I've been offline for a bit. But, I was under the assumption that there were 30 in the FE group and I already purchased enough for 30 cabins. I thought I remember reading another suggestion that if people wanted to participate in both groups that could be an option. Unfortunately, I cannot return my things so I'd be interesed in doing that if it was an option.
Sorry for my confusion.

I think there should be discussion and perhaps a decision made on this. I read the entire thread and didn't see that anything had been decided on - maybe I missed it. I also saw some talk of splitting the group in half. But as the last one to join I would like to know if I will indeed be included in this FE.

Don't worry you are included in the FE.
We have decided to wait until closer to the cruise before we divide into groups
and people can still join the FE until then.
:thumbsup2

The girls did the Alice in Wonderland tea party at the Grand Floridian last year and don't really need to do the same thing again. (Amber is now to old for the one at WDW) The one with Wendy sounds like fun. Did you say that you and Jillian did the tea party? Did it end up being like a character meal? Anyone over 12 is not allowed at the one at WDW. They may be very different tea parties. Do you remember where it was held?

Anyone up for starting a facebook group page for our cruise? That could be fun. :)

Also, can i suggest that as of July 1 we decide on the FE gift exchange? I, too, have enough for 30 cabins, but am not stressing over it. I've just finished enough for 15. That makes adding a few more, if necessary, a little easier later on. If we end up with 40 people, we can just split 20 and 20. No worries. The more the merrier. And if I have leftover items, big or small? I'll just donate them to our church, or make something for my family for Christmas. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 We are excited to see someone from our area there.

Is anyone planning on eating at Remy's? Just curious...

We are considering it but are not sure because it is sooo expensive!
I wish I knew if it was worth it. Although, I really want to try it at least once.
I am really torn, should we, shouldn't we? :confused3
Are you definitely eating there? What do you know about it?

I don't think the intention was to lock anyone out of the FE. It's way to early to think about that. I do think we should have a cut off date. On our last cruise I believe that was about 6 to 8 weeks out. Enough time so everyone could get organized. We still have a ways to go and a lot more people to find this thread. I bet the numbers could double in size by then. It's really to early to tell. So don't fret, everyone who wants to be in the FE will. We just need to decide how to divide it once it's finally here. I have no clue by the way.:goodvibes

It wasn't really like a character meal, and wasn't formal at all! We went to Studio Sea, which is like a "family bar" if that makes sense, it's on the Magic and it's where they do the family activities, like Who Wants to be a Mousketeer and the Pirate's Life For Me and Mickey Mania games. There are tables, and we sat and learned how to properly "take tea" from Alice and the mad Hatter (classic, not Johnny Depp's interpretation). They picked a couple of the little kids from the crowd to be the doormouse and white rabbit, and did some goofy things. It was also cookies and juice, not really tea.

They did a photo lineup afterwards, and that was it. All ages are welcome, we had a few folks who were there without kids, but there was plenty of space for it so it wasn't a big deal. I think the equivalent space on the Fantasy would be the D Lounge.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like it is very different than the one at WDW

I want to address a question that was brought to my attention about paying for the bands. When I get ready to order the bands I am hoping that most of you can either mail or paypal me the money. The others that live outside the country can just pay when I distribute them to you, in the terminal or at the meet etc.

I'd like to order 2

Can you PM me your address and I'll send you some $$?

Here is who I have for the Swashbucklers of the Caribbean rubber bracelet (bands) so far. I want to try to keep the cost around $1.00 per bracelet. We need to order 65-75 to get that price. We are already half way there so it shouldn't be a problem. No worries, we will just have to wait and see. :cool2:

Callymum 1
Colorado Disney Freaks 4
Lizanb 2
ohpatric 2
shadowryter 3
Prehm 4
babyburrito 4
oinfam5 5
Kjack89048 1
MNMICKEY 5
scrapindis 5
FarnMor 4
DISNEYFAN_SD 2
The Stevensons 2
o4me2playn 2

Total 46

I've got you on the bracelet list. Thank you but don't send me your money just yet. Once we get 55 bracelets the price goes down and I am waiting to see if we will make that number. Then I will start collecting money.

I can pay either way. If you would also like to pm me your address, I'll send you a check. Whatever your preference and thanks for doing this by the way.:worship:

Where would you recommend I go for the majority of my research?

I am a frequent NCL cruiser and I find the cruise critic message board provides great information. There really isn't very much on Disney on that board. There is obviously info on the disboards but I'm having trouble finding what I want.

Is there an Official or Unofficial guide book that is good?

Here are a couple of examples of the info I am looking for:

On NCL, a spa pass is offered at the cost of $20 per day or about $100 for a 7 day cruise. This provides access to the saunas, not tubs, therapy pools, heated loungers. I does not include treatments. What is the Disney ship spa like? Would such a pass be available?

Where would I find the best description of extra charge meals such as Palo and Remy? Are those the only extra charge dining? How much? I've read about a brunch. What's that about?

I just really want to get as much detailed info as possible. Any suggestions?

Honestly, your best bet is to ask here! There's an FAQ thread at the top of the cruise board with a ton of great information, and you can use Google to search, it's better than the search function on the DISBoards.

To answer your questions, there is a Rainforest room pass, which will allow daily access to the Rainforest room, with the loungers and saunas, the last I heard it was $18/day.

For Palo and Remy, go look at the DCL site, they've got descriptions there. Basically, Palo is Tuscan Italian, and Remy is French. Palo is $20 additional per person, and Remy is $75 per person. They are the only "additional charge" dining rooms on the ship, there are some items from room service that have a charge, but that's noted on the room service menu, and the snacks outside the theater have a charge (but you can bring in cookies or fried from up top for free!!!!).

There is also a brunch at Palo on sea days. This is also an additional charge of $20 per person, and it's super yummy!

I was wondering the same thing if it was worth it or not. I haven't heard anything as of yet. So we are also indecisive as well.

I've never eaten there, but, I've also never heard from anyone who hasn't thought that it was totally worth it.

I don't think we're going to eat there, we're not super huge foodies (the best food in Paris was the Nutella Crepes!!!!!) and will probably stick with Palo.
