A little late on this one - considering I'm back home again - but the Memorial Day Weekend was CRAZY up there - company galore!!
Anyhow.. I finally saw some signs of "wildlife".. Nothing all that exciting - a VERY large ground hog (I thought eating "greens" was a good way to LOSE weight - LOL) - and 2 chipmunks.. Prior to this past weekend I wasn't seeing ANY signs of wildlife at all..
The water in the lake is very, VERY high due to all the downpours we've had the past few weeks.. In our area it's well over the banks and halfway up our path.. At one of the parks the picnic tables are under water..
The June newsletter indicates that the bears are back again and wandering around at free will.. I haven't seen or heard them - nor have I seen any evidence of them getting in my trash so far..
Will be interesting to see what is in store for this summer.. Hard to believe we've been going up there on the weekends for 6 weeks already! In the blink of an eye, the 4th of July weekend will be here and then the time will whiz by like crazy and suddenly we'll be facing the end-of-the-summer Ring Of Fire and farewell picnic..
Sometimes I wish I were a kid again - when time seemed to drag on endlessly..........................
