Hey, I can't fault CR there since I start some threads like that too. :) I think they call them 'fluff' threads?

CR and I definitely disagree on politics but I find her funny in her other threads. I also don't think its okay to say there isn't deep thinking going on there because we disagree with her politically and she happens to start the 'fluff/light' threads too. Even if I think the wright threads are sooooo over the top! ;)
In this one case, I've seen way too many threads with minimal decent intent.
Otherwise, I'm all for fun!!!

Big news!! Obama stronger than Clinton in California, top-prize
Isn't California one of the states Hillary considers legitimate?

" Sen. Hillary Clinton’s argument for the Democratic presidential nomination includes a pitch that she can win the big states that Democrats need in November to amass at least 270 Electoral votes.

Yet a new poll in the biggest of all states – California – shows Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois stronger than Clinton among likely voters there – with Obama favored by 9 percentage points over Republican Sen. John McCain.

If the election were held today, California's likely voters would favor Obama over McCain by 49 to 40 percent, according to the survey. A Clinton-McCain match-up is a virtual tie: 46 percent Clinton, 43 percent McCain."

  Got anything good? I am trying to get down there in June for a weekend.

We're giving each other the Wanyama Safari for our birthdays, this year.

The other one I'm really looking forward to is Raglan Road on a Friday night. Should be fun!!!:goodvibes

Oh I'm not even going to bother reading or responding to the new Wright thread. People have their minds made up already. They are just looking to stir the pot and get the story back to the front pages. ZZZZZZZZZ

Actually, I would encourage you to read that thread...or at least the first post. She posted the entire "G-D America" sermon...and it's NOTHING like what people made it out to be. Frankly, it takes a pretty simplistic viewpoint to focus on only that one quote when the message of the sermon is so different from that!

But don't respond to it, as it just isn't worth the effort. In the words of another site I happen to frequent..."Let It Sink".

Haven't read the entire thing, probably won't. But thanks for the tip. If Wright had said, "It is a tad frustrating to not be able to live your authentic, best life." "Please join us after the service for lattes in the reception hall", there would be no problem. We've come to the point in America where many feel it's the job of any church (and particularly a predominantly African-American one) to always speak so as to not offend anyone, anyplace, anytime.
I'm not for or against Wright, but I am for free speech.

Hil is on the news live right now, whats with the lighting? Looks like she's standing in the dark. :confused3

You're right. Stay tuned. There will probably be a thread about devious Obama supporters that reduced the electricity to the lighting so as to put Hil in the shadows....:rotfl2:

I just read it for the first time in full, and yes, it should be required reading of every Obama supporter. I may not agree with every last word, but I can easily see how it would ring true within the black community. It's extremely powerful...

:lmao:

Clinton exaggerating on Family Leave Act?
From Dkos:

I heard this yesterday, but honestly, why isn't this news picked up by news organizations, you'd think they'd report it....

And, I have mentioned many times I LIKE CHRIS DODD! He is good for this country...

Thanks revy for suggesting it. As Grams pointed out above, I may not agree with everything Wright said but reading a whole sermon is much more valuable than a few snippets the news organizations repeat. I found his discussions surrounding war/peace very powerful.

I read the whole thing, it is powerful, I also found it a little ironic that he complimented the Clinton years, yet you don't see that written anywhere... Just those 3 words, which I don't agree with, but that's about the only thing I didn't agree with when read in context... I can see where he's coming from.

But all of the above doesn't apply if you are Geraldino Ferraro, right? :rotfl:

Wright condemned America for its history of racism.

Ferraro made racist comments.

I'm sorry...I guess I'm missing the comparison. :confused3 Are Martin Luther King - who once condemned this country for war crimes in Vietnam - and David Duke on the same level in your eyes?
