LOL, thanks! I kept looking and looking and looking for that thread. I kept going all the way thru page 1 and 2 and thought I was losing my mind.
Me too

Ok, I was just browsing the Huffington Post and came across one blog/opinion that talked about Obama acting more like he's the nominee rather than Clinton's equal and taking his message to her supporters rather than to her (or some such like that).
Not questioning that part of the blog/opinion...
However, the end of the piece said something about Obama and Clinton being hitched at the end of it all anyway.
I'm a total novice at this, you guys.
After all that's gone on, would Obama really ask her to be his VP? And would she even consider it?
I just don't get the vibe that she'd settle for 2nd place. Do any of you?

OK.
But would the DNC pressure him to ask her, thinking it would keep her supporters with the party rather than bailing completely?
Or does the DNC pretty much stay out of the VP selection process?

Bill Clinton is in the battle-and he doesn't give a rip. His true character is showing..and you know, you'd almost think he's the candidate.![]()
"You know, I don't give a rip about all this name calling that's going on," he said."
"If a politician doesn't wanna get beat up, he shouldn't run for office," the former president said. "Let's just saddle up and have an argument. What's the matter with that?"

And to think I used to support him?
What do you think about Richardson? Dodd? Edwards? (I realize Edwards doesn't fit the age range, don't know Richardson's age.) Any others? The DNC can't get Hillary to stop bashing Obama, or to drop out since she can't win. I don't think they will be able to have any say in the VP pick.
Unless she wants to be the first woman VP I don't see her doing it. She could have much more power in the Senate.
I hate to say it but I think Obama needs an older white guy, not McCain old but 50 or 60. I think it will help some of the undecideds feel better if there is someone who looks like all the previous POTUS.
Two senators on the same ticket rarely work out. You've go to bring someone in from the "real world". I'm sticking with a red state governor...someone like Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. Barack could make the feminist "Hillary or bust" voters happy without actually having to bring Sen Clinton along for the ride.

I really like Sebelius, but I don't see her as someone that would be ready (experience wise) to take over, should something happen. I'm betting on a middle aged white man with foreign policy experience.
I like John Edwards. I think he had a great message.
That being said, I think he'd be a great Attorney General. Just the kind of attack dog you need in that kind of position. And I mean that with the greatest respect. I think he'd be the best one to go after the types of cases that an AG is supposed to go after.
In reality, I know I don't know enough about anyone else for VP. That's why I read this thread because a lot of you seem much more educated than I on some of these subjects.
I'm interested in hearing what everyone has to say on that subject.
One related question: Why a 50yo-60yo white man? Pastorgate?
I thought early on, Obama was doing well among white men, especially highly educated middle/upper class. Did I remember that wrong?

A friend sent me this video, hysterical!![]()
Get your cameras out kids, lets all make a youtube video saying Obama partied with us!![]()
Hillary Clinton is sporting the lowest personal ratings of the campaign. Moreover, her 37 percent positive rating is the lowest the NBC/WSJ poll has recorded since March 2001, two months after she was elected to the U.S. Senate from New York.
...
Our pollsters found that for the second poll in a row, more than 20 percent of Clinton and Obama supporters say they would support McCain when he's matched up against the other Democrat. There is clearly some hardening of feelings among some of the most core supporters of both Democrats, though it may be Obama voters, who are more bitter in the long run.
Why? Because among Obama voters, Clinton has a net-negative personal rating (35-43) while Clinton voters have a net-positive view of Obama (50-29). Taken together, this appears to be evidence that Obama, intially, should have the easier time uniting the party than Clinton.
