If you have not watched the speech, it's worth watching. If you haven't read or listened to his books they are worth reading. If at the end of your search you feel you cannot trust him, then that is your decision, and you are entitled to your opinion, nobody can take that away (but this is the Positive thread)

I was so happy when I read he wrote his whole speech, to the qualms of his advisers. He really addressed the broader issue of race head on and took a risk doing that - I think it paid off.

I already sent them an email today. And my parents (Hillary voters in NJ) sent a joint email to the DNC over the weekend urging an end to this by coalescing around Barack.

Yep. Pelosi's statement about having a winner soon is making sense now. Either they split them 50/50 or remove the FL/MI delegates from the magic 2025 number. There just is no way out of this without making people angry, so they're going to stick to the rules. You can argue you don't like the rules, but those rules were agreed to up front.

Well the 2024 (it dropped by one due to the Spitzer resignation) doesn't include the MI/FL delegates so that'll stay the same, but I think after that historical speech on race today, the trickle of superdelegates will become steadier.

In keeping with this thread about positive things about Obama, he does have that charisma and deep Kennedyesqueness and intelligence and certain something which I do admit is very evident in his speech. If you don't want to read the whole books, The Audacity of Hope is categorized, and among them are "Faith" and "Race". I'm sure it would be easy to find the part where he first meets Rev. Wright in Dreams from My Father. I do like Audacity so far, but for me as a liberal he's just preaching to the choir, telling me things I already know. I should get Dreams too, I think that would be a little more interesting.

I do understand your concerns. The words are strong and disturbing. I think if you do a little more reading and research on Obama though it will help you see where he's coming from. If I thought of a minute Obama condoned this at all, I'd be outta here.

Well, I guess we can all be assured in future years that our states will not do what Michigan & Florida tried to do.... Personally I wish they hadn't gone ahead when they were told the punishment.
