Obama supporters! - A positive place to talk about his campaign

YUP she does have alot of 'catching up' to do....NO DOUBT about that. BUT it is still doable. He is basing his numbers on..."what ifs". I can easily write the same article scewed towards Hillary.

She will need a REALLY big win in PA, which is very possible.
But that isnt until the end of April. ANYTHING can happen until then.

Huh? That was the point - it was skewed heavily for Hillary and she only picks up 32 more delegates.

Here is a great article on the remaining contests:

Here is a great snip from it:

[UPDATED] Here's another fun one, just to truly show how impossible this catching up notion is. I ran the numbers for winning all 82 races (70 CDs + Guam + the 11 statewide splits) by a whopping 24.9%. Her gain? Only 110 delegates. Obama still leads by 50.

I don't think anyone realized how significant his blowout wins in February were. In GA alone, he picked up 33 more delegates. So if she wins every district and statewide vote by 25% here on out, she gains 110 delegates on Obama. Out of 370 delegates Tuesday, she gained a total of 4 on him.

Anyone send any money to the campaign lately? After last night, I sent another $500 and bought one of those khaki t-shirts that has Barack's face on it this morning before coming into work. I plan on wearing it in WDW in a couple weeks. We're going with friends from our old neighborhood in NYC March 17-21st.

He got another $150 from me. :thumbsup2

I finally bought The Audacity of Hope last night. Looks to be interesting.

I sent more as well... sadly at this point that money could be going towards winning the General, just saying...

Anyhow, does anyone have any polling data for Wyoming or Mississippi?

No polling data but I would assume Obama wipes out Clinton's *whopping* 4 delegate win Tuesday night, in WY alone. Judging from similar contests in the region, I would assume Obama does well in MS as well.

I'm very concerned about what's going to happen in November. I've read numerous articles stating that polling data shows Obama supporters would vote for Hillary in a general election but not vice versa.

As much as I want Obama to win the nomination - I want a Democrat in the White House even more. I'm scared to death that this hard-fought nomination is going to cost us the election.

As much as it kills me to say this, I would vote for Hillary in November as a vote against McCain - there are bigger things at stake than my personal dislike of Hillary.

I'm so proud of ya, Tim! ;)

There may be Hillary supporters who will not support Obama, particularly those who will only vote for a woman, will not vote for a supposed muslim, or will not vote for someone that is not white.....

However, there are those of us who will not vote for a woman who resorts to kitchen sink tactics, who we believe does what she does only for her own personal gain, everyone else be d*mned, but if she helps people along her path, then that's just secondary to the goal at hand... She's manipulative, she's been condescending to those of us who have voted for Obama, and she has alluded to mistruth's that she clearly knows are mistruth's....

So, whoever is in the General is going to have an issue with some segment of the population that voted for the other candidate.

Honestly I feel like this is a life or death election for my family. My husband leaves next month on his third deployment. Three in six years. If McCain wins, I don't think I'll ever see my husband again.

I could have written this myself!

:teeth: Just had to get over my stubbornness - you can blame my mom for handing that one down to me!

Well first off, thank you to you and your DH for your service. I can't even imagine what its like to have a loved one fighting in this war. I'm voting for the Democrat for exactly the reason you quoted above.

I have never understood the, "Yea, it's time for a woman-any woman", philosophy. I don't care whether the nominee is a woman or a man. What matters to me is that they are capable of doing the job well.

That's such a good point. For some people, the stakes are higher. In the future, I most likely will not need an abortion or have a husband who's in the military or have my job shipped overseas, but we should all keep in mind how a future administration's policies will affect others.

I agree with that. I do like Hillary, but I would never vote for a woman solely because she's a woman. It's important to have a female POTUS someday, of course. But it's also important to have a black POTUS someday.

It is a great point. BTW, welcome back to the safe zone. No spelling issues here.:goodvibes

You are so right Laura, which is the precise reason I'm supporting the Democratic nominee in November. As I stated above, my personal distrust and dislike of someone isn't as important as bringing va32h's husband home from Iraq, protecting a woman's right to choose, having a rationale foreign policy agenda, and protecting our environment. I was raised to not only think of myself, but put myself in others' shoes.

Oh, but Tim-don't you feel sorry for all those rich people who will lose their tax breaks? :lmao:

It's on both sides, unfortunately. I went to a couple meetings for Obama volunteers yesterday and people that I've known for years to be hard line party Democrats are furious with Clinton over her negative campaign tactics and her thumbing her nose at the DNC over FL & MI. There are going to be hold outs no matter what happens. In bringing people back together though, my money is on the candidate who has a positive outlook and messaging.

That was only part of the meeting though. I was so touched and motivated by the support for our guy. People are fired up and math doesn't lie. :teacher: He will be the nominee. The only difference between today and two days ago, is that now we are in it for the long run. :thumbsup2
