Oh Brenda, I'm SO happy to see you posting and that all is well!! Imagine, no more back pain, perky-ness, cute bras (or no bra;) )! How are you feeling? Any pain? I wish you the best best best!!

The Pope's in town, but I'm not even going to try to catch a glimpse, just too many people, hundreds and hundreds standing outside St. Pat's. Well, I might try if I get bored! My kids are at a comic book convention, ComicCon, but it's on the west side, not mid-town where the Pope is, so they won't see him either. Jesse wants to go see him at Yankee stadium, but our parish has already given out all their allotment of free tickets.

Mel's working for a few hours, and then off to play tennis in the park. I forgot to mention, Jesse made it onto his school's lacross(e) team! He never played lacross in his whole life, so I don't know how he got on, but I have a feeling the whole team is like that:rotfl: . No matter, it's exercise, it'll be fun, and he's not a kid who gets upset over losing, so it's all good.

I'm going to put on some music and get some housework done.

Have a good weekend everybody!

You've met the Pope, his name is Paul. You dinned with him for 7 nights....in 2005....remember....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Brenda:

Glad you are well. And Grim has read worse and heard far worse...remember he sat at our table too...

Aisling:

I'm trying to think when to make my famous pre-cruise wax appointment...thought that would make ya laugh and a few others too :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

If THAT doesn't bring Grim out of the woodwork, I don't know what will!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG Nan, I can't hear the word wax without cracking up because of you! Going for the full monty wax again this time?:rotfl: If you take the DCL bus to the port again, don't forget to let us know if the bushes have been cut!!!!!!:lmao: For those who don't know what I'm talking about, I elect Grim to tell the story! I wish I could post videos, as Chad has it recorded for all eternity!!!!!! Luv ya, baby!

About the Pope, I didn't know he was going to go down 5th Ave in the pope-mobile. I thought I'd have to stand outside St. Pat's with that huge crowd to see him come out, but then I saw on TV that he went quite a distance along 5th, and I could've easily seen him pass by en route. I still have tomorrow, and now I'm really excited about having the chance to see him en route to Yankee Stadium!:goodvibes

Tig, I don't know who Bruce Campbell is, but I'd guess he has something to do with comic book characters???

I'm off to my brother's place...his wife is hosting a Passover Seder. I reeeeeeally don't want to go, preferring to hibernate this evening, but they always come to my Christmas dinners, so it's only right that I show her the same respect.

Tig, Fr. Casey isn't well enough to get out much anymore, so he watches all the pope events on TV. But he did have a semi-private metting with JP II at the Vatican some years back.

Well it will be really fun to meet you!!!

Hi everyone,

Today's Jesse's 16th birthday, and it's also the start of his spring break week, so he's happy!

How's everyone doing today?

Thank you for the happy birthdays to Jesse. We had a nice party, and now he's fiddling around on his electric guitar with a couple of friends. Louise bought him some guitar accessories that he's trying out.

Tig, where are you? You've been so quiet!

That's nice that Ryan, Jesse and Cory will have each other on the cruise. It's also nice since Brittany is too old for the stack that she'll have Chad, Louise and Adrian to hang out with~

I'm wondering what the ages are for the stack, is Molly gonna be old enough yet?

HELP!
1st Time Disney Cruiser: Questions

Entire Family ( 3 Generations - 5 Rooms ) are all booked on this cruise - ALL but for 1 family this is their 1st cruise. Lots of questions???????

We have children from 2-14. Two of the cousins will be 7 and 8 on the cruise- which means - according to Disney they will be in separate areas. Can we get the 8 year old in to the Oceaners club for 3-7 year olds?> Can we just make the 8 year old 7? on our reservation. Passport date won't match?

Also, along for the cruise will be a 2 year old.. Wondering when and how to make babysitting arrangements?

I need to hear from the VETS! as how to make this cruise magical!!!!

INFO:
1 - 77 year old
8 - 40-51 year old
7 kids 2,4,5,7,8,14,19

Also, How much time to allow to get from de-embarkation back to the airport in Orlando to catch a flight back to Minneapolis?

We are planning to arrive in Orlando on Christmas day and staying a couple of nights at Embassy Suites. Do we simply go back to baggage claim to catch the shuttle to the ship???

Some in our party are fearfull of getting sea sick? Any thoughts? suggestions?

Since we didn't book right away we were put on the waiting list for early dinning. With the small children the late dinning isn't a option. What are the chances we'll move up to the early dinning?

HELP! I need AN Y and ALL suggestions to make this "magical" for our familyP.

P.S. We're from IOWA. Lets go HAWKEYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow! thatalottaquestions!

Welcome to our Happy Group!

I am sure all of these can be answered for you by some of our cruisers....:scratchin

I would recommend you check out some Disney Cruising Guides:

Birnbaum's and Passporter's Guides to Disney Cruising are the one's I have. There is also an Unofficial Guide that is quite popular. I've gotten mine from the library and the local book store.

None of my group took the airport transport, maybe someone here could answer that question. You may have to hire transport or a rental car. DCL's shuttle cost $60 pp one way from Disney property. (Some of this group actually left from Animal Kingdom Lodge.) My Mom had her own car, I rode to the terminal with her. For four people, it was cheaper for us to drive there.

your children's ages are in their computer system, they will know the 8yo is not 7. The club questions can probably be anwered by Nan. She had a similar issue our last cruise.

I'd have to read my guides to see when you need to make arrangements for the 2yo.

Disembarkation starts really early the last day, we took our time and were off the ship around 10am. Give yourself time to get off the ship and get all of your luggage (you pick that up seperately - the crew collects all your luggage except for carry-off the night before.) Also, how you get back to the airport depends on you. You can hire the shuttle, again I'll check my books today to see if I can help you further, or rent a car. You'll need at least an hour to get to the airport and probably an hour (maybe two) to get thru security and check in (FL terminal security lines can be loooooong.)

Re: seasickness: One person used a patch, she said it worked great until the day she had to change it. She spent that day in bed. I took dramamine, the key with this is to start taking them the day BEFORE you sail to give the medicine time to kick in. Dramamine has a once a day pill - that's what I used and I had no issues at all. There are wristbands out there, I have no idea if they work but do know they are a little pricey. ~$100 Ginger is also supposed to be really good too. There are ginger pills at health food stores. I am told Ginger cookies and ginger ale can help too. (Again, the books have all this info and more in them.)

If you do not get moved up in dining by sailing day, go to your head waiter and ask...they may be able to accomodate you. It never hurts to ask...

I hope this helps you, I am sure more will be by later to help answer your questions a bit more
