NYE foods for home party

On the more uppity end, we've got shrimp and escargot.

On the other end of the spectrum, we've got the kid-requested frozen items (chicken nuggets and mozz. sticks), plus pizza dip and bacon-wrapped lil' smokies. We usually do popper dip as well, but all of us really over indulged at Christmas so we're cutting back on the NYE spread this year.

Pizza dip
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasonings
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup Parmesan cheese
1 cup pizza sauce
Whatever else you usually put on your pizza (black olives, pepperoni, etc.)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine cream cheese and spices. Spread cream cheese mixture into a 9-inch pie pan, and sprinkle ½ cup of mozzarella and ½ cup of Parmesan on the cream cheese mixture. Top with the pizza sauce and sprinkle the remaining cheeses over the pizza sauce, and then top with your pizza toppings. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Bacon-wrapped smokies -- http://bacontoday.com/bacon-wrapped-little-smokies/ Gotta love a website called "Bacon Today!" :thumbsup2

Popper Dip
16 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
1 cup mayonnaise
8 pieces of bacon, cooked and chopped up (this is optional, really)
6 jalapeños, minced (we short cut it and use a 4-ounce can diced jalapeño peppers, drained, and we've been known to just call this sucker "popper dip" and use chopped canned chili peppers instead. A friend even uses banana peppers in hers)
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ teaspoon cumin
1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

Topping:
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, bacon, jalapenos, garlic, cumin and cheddar cheese in a mixing bowl. Pour the mixture into a casserole dish or 9×13 baking dish. Combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese and melted butter in a small bowl, tossing with a fork until the mixture is evenly moistened. Sprinkle evenly over the cream cheese mixture. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the dip is bubbling, and then let it rest for five minutes (unless you'd like to have the skin on the roof of your mouth turn crispy).

Seeing everyone else's menus now I'm worried I'm not making enough. I decided to replace the not-Rumaki appetizer for those Pioneer woman bacon things (they look good) and add in a smoked salmon dish. I hope its enough.

we do an oil fondue. have tray of meats and veggies and people cook/snack on them.

Doing this in my own home would terrify me.

Google The Pioneer Woman's Holiday Bacon Appetizers. I made these for the first time on Christmas Eve and they were delicious! Basically, you put a teaspoon of Parmesan cheese on a Club cracker and wrap it with a half a piece of bacon. Put on a rack on a baking sheet for two hours at 250 degrees. YUMMY!

We made these for Christmas. We made half with Parmesan cheese and half with brown sugar. My personal favorite were the brown sugar ones. So yummy!
