Good morning all! It is lacrossing here today. Yuck and really chilly. Spring? spring? Where are you? At this rate, little league will be playing until Christmas!!

Nothing really exciting going on here......for a change. No lacrosse games and no fires in the fireplace while Laxdad is away. Came home last night and watched a movie and hit it. Laxlad didn't have practice so we went to BD Mongo's for dinner - his favorite. He then went to a friends house for a bit. So I had a quiet house for a couple hours... ah. I probably needed to study. Oh well.

I've got to say I really miss this thread when I'm busy ( and man, that dang ER is buuuisy!!! )

I think, and I know I've said this before, but today may be the day for my add on. I have fallen in love with AKV. I just feel really guilty spending even more money. However I justify to myself by saying that I'm only spending what folks who buy directly from Disney will spend for 160 points.

Poor Kris is still waiting for her contract.

Maybe I'll hear that I've closed today. I sent in my papers over a week ago.

Goofydad, waitlist for anything you'd consider staying in now. It's right before the 7 month window opens up and stuff will move around still. Kristen has owned BWV for a while and I know she calls day by day at the 11 month mark to get those standard BWV rooms.

Grandbuddy. You have dealt with some beauties! How did you find out about this latest fiasco? Did the seller tell your broker, or did it come about in verifying the points?

Tammy, are you heading back again in 4 weeks? Did you get your cruise booklet yet? Looks like there IS a formal night.

What did you particularly love about AKV? I haven't been there except for dinner one night. I really love the grand villa's. I saw some pictures and they really are deluxe. A pool table room!!! Wow!

Definately waitlist, Goofydad! That is such a busy time for DVC. We would love to go down some time over the holidays so I have been reading every thread that comes along. Don't wait!! Waitlist!!

Just printed off our Southwest Group A boarding passes for tomorrow morning's flight to Florida. I don't even care that I have to work in the rain today, this time tomorrow we WILL be on our way to Florida for 5 relaxing days in the warmer temps!!!


BTW, still waiting to hear if our closing has taken place.......

We are going back. We have 3 nights at SSR and Kristen is going. We're doing Seawold and the new Atlantis waterpark. Not doing Disney this time.

I had waitlisted for AKV for the June trip but nothing came through...

I just love the resort. It's beautiful. Loved the lobby, the rooms, the "feel" of the resort. Love the animals on the Savannah. It's just awesome theming to me. The pool isn't great ( yet ) but with Kidani, it's going to be. It will be the only other pool ( except SLB at BCV ) at WDW that DVC members can't hop to.

For your add-on at AKV: Most of the contracts I've seen on the aftermarket cost almost what Disney is charging for points, after the discount, and with no incentives. Add in closing costs and pre-paying points, depending on who you go through, and AK looks almost cheaper as a direct buy. Does your post mean you are buying more than 160 points at the same price Disney charges for 160? That would be a good trick.

I hope spring gets to you, soon. We've had it for quite some time - the azaleas bloomed back in March, and it's in the 80's most days, now - even sultry and sticky some mornings.

A quiet house is nice, at times. But it can get old. Sandra is finally finished with her school year this Friday. Of course, I'll be picking her up to head to Nashville and grandbabies, so it'll be anything but quiet for several days.

Apparently the sellers told the agent when she touched base with them, just before calling Disney to confirm the points. Said they got a letter from Disney telling them to "use all their points." The agent says she thinks the letter actually says for sellers to go ahead and use what points they plan to use, as they will lose the ability to use them once Disney has confirmed the point status of the contract. The agent was most apologetic.

I'll find another one...or try to add through Disney if the incentives are attractive enough. IF they have any December UY points, and IF they don't charge closing costs for (first) add-ons for previous resale buyers, and IF they have one of those gift card promotions going, the final price differential might be low enough to justify spending a little extra $$ to avoid having to keep scouring the listings for that perfect contract - and waiting through the resale process. I really don't want two UYs, so once I bought the first, my options became severely limited for the second.

You'll have to do lots of math to see if SSR is close to as good of a deal with Disney. You would get 07&08 points and no closing costs. Also the 10 off PP and the gift card..Get out the calculator..
