Hiya everyone! I was MIA again for awhile but for good reason. We have been busy but having fun. On Monday nights I'm playing volleyball competitively in a co-ed league, Tuesday nights I'm coaching 5 & 6 grade girls, Wednesdays have been free, Thursdays are coaches meetings and clinics, and Friday is 5 & 6 grade practice again. Needless to say between those activities homework, dinner and baths it's never dull around home.
The update:
Friday morning we were supposed to go to breakfast at Cape May Cafe. When the alarm went off, I heard Joe go UGHHHH! So I proposed skipping breakfast. It took him all of two seconds to say "sounds good" and the plan immediately changed. We slept for another hour and a half and made our way over to EPCOT where we were meeting Jay and Leona so that they could watch the girls while we took our Segway tour through the WS.
We met them by Spaceship Earth and the girls happily joined their crew. We had to meet our tour guide at Guest Relations so we went over there, signed our lives away and put on our name tags. As soon as everyone had checked in, we were escorted over to Innoventions where we watched a quick video and was given some instruction on basic operation of the segway. Next we went out to the area that you see as you tour through Innoventions and we were taught to load and unload on the segway, how to steer, how to go uphill and how to go downhill. We did some quick hands-on exercises and then we were led out to start our tour of the WS.
I have to say the tour was awesome. In each country we would stop and learn more about the country, it's history and construction and then we would be led through different obstacles. It was really interesting and fun too. About halfway through, our guides took pics of all of us using our cameras....here's me and Joe...
About the time we were finishing the tour, the WS had been opened up to the public so that last country or two was really interesting. Not only were there natural obstacles but now there were hundreds of human ones.

Riding a segway is all about balance and by the time we were done, the outside of my right foot ached a little. Apparently, I was compensating for my lack of balance with my right foot. Overall it was a great experience and we would highly recommend it to anyone interested.
As we were taking our segways back to Innoventions we passed Jay, Leona and the kids. We waved at them and told them to wait right there. It was perfect timing. We parked our segways, turned in our helmets, thanked our instructors and we were on our way. We met Jay and Leona, picked up the kids and beat feet over to France for lunch at Les Chefs de France. I was really anticipating this meal after hearing all the praise.
As soon as we arrived they were just opening and we were one of the first seated for lunch. The service was soooooooo slow. It took 30 minutes to get a drink, another 15 for our appetizers and we had been there an hour and fifteen minutes when our entree finally arrived.
I had the french onion soup and Joe had the salad for an appetizer. We both think they were just okay. Here's some pics...
For dinner Joe had some pasta and I had the burger. The burger was so Nasty. It was mushy in the center and I left more than half. I did eat the fries though. They were pretty good. Joe didn't like his food very well either.
The best part of the meal occurred when this little guy stopped by and sang happy birthday to Joe. The girls thought this was just wonderful...I have to admit it was pretty sweet.
Here's Joe with his birthday dessert...
I don't think we will be back to Les Chefs. We weren't impressed at all. We loved Remy and the waiter who accompanies him but other than that it was terrible. Bad service + bad food = no go for us.
By the time we were done with the meal, it was time for the DIS meet. Luckily it was scheduled for the France courtyard so we hung out there. I spotted Mary and the girls right away so we went over there for a chat. We also got in line to meet Marie! We were so excited. She is one of the few we haven't met before.
Next it was time for the DIS meet. Yes, again, I didn't take any pics. You'd think after so many that I'd pull my head out of my behind and remember, but nope sure didn't.

Bridora (B as I call her) and her family, MaryAZ (Mary) and her family, Mickeystoontown (Lisa) and her DH, and Racefanof88 (Dana), and Whitney and her DF attended. It was fun to meet everyone in person. The kids did some pin trading while some of the adults enjoyed some beverages. I had a GG slushie and it was awesome. I bought an orange slushie but didn't like it as well and gave it to Mary. The meet was super fun but was over super fast. Everyone had so much they needed to fit in. It was fun to meet everyone and their families and hope we meet again in the future. It's weird how your virtual friends are better friends than their your every day friends you know.
After the meet, we decided to head back to the hotel for some R & R. We were undecided if we were going to head over to WL for WCC or not. Jay and Leona weren't that impressed and with it being our last night we still needed to get things packed. We did end up going over to WCC. Again we ran into Mary and the girls. The girls had picked up some things for Mary's girls over the last few weeks and they gave them to them during dinner. It was our last meet with them of the trip so it was bittersweet.
The dinner ended up being really fun. Our waitress was really into it (Bree was her name). She gave Joe a hard time and he had no problem returning the favor. They had a lot of fun together. Here are some pics from our meal.

Josie lovin' the corn...
The meal was fantastic, the service was out this world, and we just plain had fun. We will definitely go back!
After dinner we had hoped to catch up with Jay and Leona on the beach but it started drizzling and the movie was cancelled. Instead we headed to the car and back to AKV for one last swim and packing. When we got back Joe took the last pics we would take of AKV. Here they are...
After the pics, the kids and Joe went for a dip and I did my last load of laundry and packed us up. I then went down and we spent our last night relaxing and having fun in the pool. Another great day for sure!
On a side note, I wanted to share the cake I made with a friend last weekend for a her twins turning one. She hadn't worked with fondant so I did the modeling and she learned along the way. Hope you enjoy...this was super fun!
details around the bottom...
Hope everyone is having a great summer! I have one more day to go and then I will be done with my report. It's kind of sad really. Talk soon DIS friends!
