Wow, I'm in awe of the photos posted here! I don't feel worthy to even post mine, but I will anyway!

I only have a Nikon Coolpix 7900. It's my first venture in digital photography. It was a nice first, but I need something with a better zoom!

I like it, and I also like the footprint you use for your signature. However, I'm a severe opponent of date-imprint. It ruins the picture, IMHO.

I feel as though I haven't taken a decent shot in weeks. I went out and took a few in my garden today. Still not thrilled. I didn't get out early enough and the light was way too harsh.

I agree. I told my DH earlier as I was showing him some of the photos on this thread that serious photographers don't have the dates showing! He likes leaving the date imprint on. :confused3

Does he know that the date is encoded in the metadata and that he can always find out what it is and put it on the back of his prints?

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know that, so I'm sure he doesn't either.

If you print your own photos I suppose you could run a batch of paper though the printer upside down and print the date on the back of the paper . I'd do that before I printed the actual photos though. If you use Photoshop you could set up an action to have the date placed outside the picture in what would be the white space. If you have them printed professionally you can have them add the date to the back.

Here's one I took today of DD with my new 50mm f/1.8 Nikkor lens:

Also got one of DS with the same lens. It almost impossible to take a picture of the 2 of them together that comes out nice. First off, they BOTH have to be cooperative! :rolleyes1
