November/December 2016 discount code watch

Hello, everyone! A beginner here, but a veteran when it comes do the world of Walt Disney: 6 times in Disney World, 4 times in Disneyland Paris, and 1 time each in Disneyland, Disneyland Hong Kong and Disneyland Tokyo!

I have a family trip booked for Nov.28 to Dec.5, so these are the dates I'm looking discounts for! During my last visit with the whole family we stayed at the Old Key West resort. Am I right to assume the Free Dining/Room Discounts will be available this semester?

I would not assume that free dining will be available for your dates. Disney is cutting way back on the dates they offer free dining; to the point that we don't know if they'll even offer it this year. Also, your dates coincide with Thanksgiving which is a very busy time of year. In the past, the last day to start free dining typically ended the week before Thanksgiving.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Oh, thanks for the info!

But isn't Thanksgiving on November 24th?

I am going to need 2 rooms. If I get a pin can I book online? I assume you have to call if using the visa free dining offer. (If offered), is that true?

Watching this as well!! :) We are booked for Nov. 27-3, but could really do any dates from Nov. 27-Dec 12.

Watching. Just had to cancel our may Poly theme park view 30% off because DH business check several months late Now our only shot is November 29 through December 5th. Really hoping for some kind of discount. My daughter graduates next year and we haven't been since 2010. Totally bummed. Hoping it's an omen we were ment to see new soaring which isn't open til June.

Sorry to hear you had to cancel your discounted May reservation at the Poly. I do not think they will offer a discount for he November 29 through December time period as that falls within Pop Warner. I would consider booking at a moderate like Port Orleans French Quarter for those dates. You likely will pay less than what you would have at the Poly even with the 30% discount and all of the Christmas decoration and programs will be in effect. There is no better time to be at Disney than leading up to Christmas.

Unfortunately this doesn't end up saving us much. We love PO as Dh and I got engaged while staying there. However we are a family of 5 with all three being adult size ds almost 6ft tall so we would have to rent two rooms. For that money I want easier access to the parks as I have fibromyalgia and riding a bus daily is certain to wipe me out. When school schedule comes out I might be able to wiggle a week before thanksgiving but unlikely.

Btw what is Pop Warner?

I can understand why French Quarter will not work out. My family and I love that resort even though we are considering Pop Century for our next trip as a way to save money.

Pop Warner is the youth football league and the championship is held each year at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex during the first full week in December.

I've seen some rumors that an announcement will come on April 25th forFall discounts.

I saw this rumor on another thread - that something was coming out that day for Disney Visa holders. Fingers crossed that it is the truth!!
I know there is still lots of time, but I'm getting anxious that I don't have anything nailed down while I wait for discounts, FD, whatever!

Hi,

A bit new to this.
All of you who have planned Disney vacations in Nov/Dec, have you already booked or are you holding your bookings and waiting for a discount to come out?
I don't understand how it works. If you already booked can you still make use of any offers that Disney publish?

I'm also kinda new, since lots has changed since the last time I planned a Disney trip - but here's my take on it.

I am purposefully NOT making a reservation for my planned trip in December. One reason is that my dates are very flexible, and I want to take advantage of the best deal I can get within that 3 week window. But the primary reason is that I want the mouse to think they NEED to discount rooms in some way to fill them up. If the majority of rooms are booked, they may not offer a good deal as they don't need to - from what they can see by their reservation lists, their hotels are full so there is no need to try and entice more guests to visit.

It's killing me to wait - I want to nail this down yesterday! But I know that last time I did it, probably 15 years ago, I waited until November to get a great discount on a room in January, and saved 30%, so it was worth it.

I am really impatient as well! I have already booked teh BC with a bounce back, but my DS and DDIL ae withing until discounts are released and then they will book as well. Now, they intend to come no matter what, but holy hard to wait!!!!! We really hope that a free dining will open or the summer discount with the hoppers added, but we will make any discount work for our group.

Just curious how did you get FW cabins cheaper than POFQ? Was it because you had two rooms at POFQ?
It was three years ago. I had booked FQ (one room 5 people) really early and did that because I was worried about not having something if I missed the free meal plan. Turns out FQ was not included in the FD plan like we all know now. The CM went through what was available, which was slim. I was getting really worried on the phone until I asked "what was the pkg for the cabin again?" and she came back with a price that was cheaper, not by much, but cheaper. I jumped on it and we had a great time despite it raining 50% of the time we were there. We rented a Golf Cart from Kenny's and had a lot of fun. I was pleasantly surprised.

It sounds like the cabins were fun! Do you remember how much the Golf carts were to rent? I remember staying there as a child in our travel trailer and loving the atmosphere. I usually stay at the other Moderate resorts but I would love to stay at the cabins with the kids sometime! Did you mean POR instead of POFQ because that resort sleeps 5 while POFQ only sleeps 4. Did you go to the Chip and Dale campfire? I remember loving that as a kid!:)

I have went to WDW in the first half of December 8 times now (kids bdays are 11 and 13th so its become a tradition!!) I have never went without getting a discount. I have done it both ways, booked and then applied discount but in the later years I have just waited to book as I was never sure Id be able to swing the holiday. We usually stay at the Poly and I have received the discount through Pop warner week though I now try to avoid that time if possible. If you can, wait for the discount but just be flexible in case your chosen hotel is gone, I usually have a back up hotel chosen. Ive had that happen a few times, but usually get pretty good luck with the Poly. I too am waiting for the discounts as we are really missing Disney and have decided to go this Dec as we havent been since 2014 and that year we went with another family and it's always difficult to make everyone happy so this year just the kiddos and me! Cant wait for the discounts for fall to post!

You are probably correct in that it was Riverside. Golf carts in the campground are (I think) $50-60/day, that's expensive. Kenny's Tee Time was a lot cheaper, by a bunch. BUT, there's a but, He has to leave the cart on property and it won't be delivered to your cabin. Ours was down by the lake in that cart parking lot and it wasn't fully charged when we took it back. That's not Kenny's fault, it was the previous renter leaving it unplugged like a doofus. It wasn't fun, well actually it was, driving back in the dark with the headlights dimming and the rain coming down. Making memories, LOL.

We didn't go to the campfire, but we had exciting games of tether ball at the beach and watched the fireworks there too. The cabins are really nice and really like suites. I was trying to explain them to my brother who camps at Lake George and as soon as I said central air and a dishwasher he said "Cabin?" LOL

Well I booked in November with fingers crossed. Short vacation this year, but I got round trip airfare with my miles for $56 for the 5 of us. It's into Tampa, but we've done this routine before and Tampa is not a bad drive and since we rent a car anyway it will be fine.

Looks like I'm booked during this Pop Warner week too. Does that have a big effect on crowds at the parks?? We are currently booked Nov 26-Dec 4 and am really not wanting to deal with huge crowds. I didn't know anything about Pop Warner. My daughter's bday falls within our vacation so that's a large reason why we are going during that time.
