November 5th 2011 Eastern on the Magic

Nobody posted a question for today yet, so I will post another one.

If you have cruised before, what are you looking forward to the most on this cruise?

Good morning, everyone!

I am most looking forward to celebrating my 40th birthday at Palo (my ACTUAL birthday!!), and running the Castaway 5K on Nov 11 (day after my birthday)!!! (Praying the weather is not windy so we can actually dock at Castaway Cay!!!!)

I am also looking SO foward to quality time with my DH and kids.... the last two cruises we've cruise with family, which has been great, but when you cruise with extended family, it's hard to just have quality family time with just your own family unit. So, I'm very much looking forward to just being with DH and the kids only.

I am really looking forward to going to Maho Beach in St. Maarten and seeing the excitement on our kid's faces watching the planes take off and land, especially our oldest who really love planes!!

Oh, and of course, hanging out at the adult only pool... I especially love the sea days when a DJ comes and plays music in the afternoon at the adult pool... I LOVE to just sit on that little platform part in the adult pool and just listen to music while I'm soaking up the rays! :cool1:

Oh, and lastly.... I am SO looking forward to running laps on deck 4 on the sea days!!! Oh, so much fun (for a runner, that is) to run when you are out to sea and having the ocean breeze hit you... one of my favorite "me" times when I'm on the ship!

Ok, so I said more than ONE thing, but I just can't narrow it down to one thing. :)

I just gave up a Palo reservation for November 7th if anyone is looking for an AT SEA Palo reservation. I'm not sure if it will show up because it was booked through Disney Weddings, but it doesn't hurt to look.

Hmmm... Probably for me, I'm looking forward to sea days! I love how relaxed they are, the extra things to do on board, and looking out windows/verandahs/portholes at the wide open sea with little to nothing in sight except water! (although I am hoping for a swing by Castaway Cay while the Dream is there on one of our sea days! I think Monday she's there...)

'Course there's also the moment when our family is announced as we're boarding, and Mickey hugs, and pirate night, and Disney Dreams, and the original Animator's Palatte show (much better than the Dream's version imho), and, and, and...

My Favorite movie is Little Mermaid... First time cruising and just looking forward to seeing my kids enjoy themselves with my sister and nephew as we live so far apart!

Looking forward to dinner at Palo, sitting by the adult pool with a good book, sitting on the verandah with my husband and a glass of wine...visiting the ports. I hardly remember what the ship looks like-we cruised in 1998 for only 4nights, so in a way it does feel like our first cruise! :)

So many favorite things! Awesome.

that air show should be sweet. My son will like it and hopefully we can get some good pics of it.

We should have a good view from deck 10 of some of the airshow. We are going to look for it too.

One year we watched an Atlas Missle launch from Kennedy space center from deck 10 around 3 p.m. Our daughter and 2 grandkids were there too, it was their first cruise. We video taped it.:cool1:

If this is your first cruise, after all your research , what are you looking forward to the most on board?
Kathy

Cruised before on RCL, just DH and I, so we are most looking forward to taking our kids to the islands.

This is our 1st DCL cruise and we are looking forward to the exceptional customer service that Disney is so known for. :wizard:

Yes, we had bad customer service experiences with RCL.

I was just thinking, what are we going to do on boarding day from the time we wake up until our hotel shuttle takes us to the port at 11:00? We are going to be so excited that time will seem to stand still.

Maybe we'll get to see the airshow and that will occupy us! Nope-show doesn't start until 12:00.

I agree that time stands still that morning. It use to be you could arrive at 10 and enjoy watching people and enjoy the atmsphere and I watched cartoons on one of many TV's there but now we must wait until our assigned time to arrive:headache:

For us we will be coming from WDW, so our morning will be busy repacking and dropping off luggage to the desk. The cruise line bus will be bringing us.
Of course if we wanted we could play in the pool or zip out for a few minutes to a park to pass the time. Its too hard to even think about it :rolleyes1

Who has a question of the day to post early tomorrow for everyone to answer??popcorn::
Feel free to post it.

Kathy

So, what are your plans for the night before the cruise? We're flying in that afternoon, then spending the night at Wilderness Lodge. Technically, we're supposed to get a good night's sleep - but history has shown that instead, we'll be performing our own version of the WDW commercial: "I'm too excited to sleep!"

We will be at the All Star Music Resort the night before, but I am sure we will be out late our last night at WDW.:goodvibes

We are staying at the Comfort Inn and Suites at Cocoa Beach. but with two excited kids and one excited wife we will be up early and maybe walk around the beach. Not sure what else we will do.

Good evening "Mickeys Amazing Group of Island Cruisers"

Ok i guess i need to catch up a little.....

What am i looking forward to most about our cruise, hum:scratchin

Well i guess it would have to be EVERYTHING:cheer2:

I am with Carolyn, I am looking forward to someone else cooking for my family:thumbsup2

Our plans for the night before the cruise are not as exciting as everyone elses. We do not arrive in orlando until after 9pm Friday, so i guess we will get a rental car and head to a hotel at the port. If we can get an earlier flight, may stay at WDW for the night.

The airshow was going on last year when we were going on DCL. I just wanted to warn everyone now, it gets very very busy with people and traffic that Saturday morning (Nov 5th). So allow extra time for breakfast and for getting to the port, traffic was just a nightmare.

Hi All,

We arrive into MCO Friday evening the 4th around 5:30 PM. We are staying at the MCO Hyatt on the 4th, and we are getting a room facing the runway with a balcony, so I know my kids will be watching the planes. :) I'm sure we'll hit the pool, too, to get the kid's energy out after a 6 hour flight.

So, pretty low key evening on the 4th... then we are taking the Disney Cruiseline bus from the MCO Hyatt to the ship. Not sure what time we'll get a bus from MCO to Port.... We'll probably sleep in a little on Saturday at the Hyatt, especially being on West Coast time, still, so we'll be 3 hours behind Florida time... so I doubt we'll be up at 7 AM (which would be 4 AM our body time :scared1:). We aren't trying to get a port ugrade or anything, so we aren't going to try to rush to get the first bus out of MCO, unless we just wake up early. But, we have an 11:30 AM (I think) check in time at port, so we'll probably try to be on a 10:30 AM bus to port. :) :)

You'll probably watch the sun come up :lmao:

Actually one year we went to a park (not jetty park) next to the channel and stood on the dock to watch the Magic pull into port at 5 a.m.. It looked so neat all lit up in the dark pulling into port.:goodvibes

If anyone has a car and are early risers you might consider doing that.

Good night everyone,

kathy
