Ugh...hanging xmas lights!! Today, I have leaves to take care of and a garage to clean out to fit my DW's car back into or I may be sleeping in said garage.
I usually use thanksgiving weekend to hang lights and decorate the outside of the house. We are a white lights family.
My DW is packing the kids stuff today. Getting formal stuff for the kids is a tough challenge. I'm sending my Tux to the cleaners tomorrow and getting ready to wear it. Proud to say it still fits and actually its a little big on me. I couldn't always say that.

The garage gods must have lit the fire under both of us! I spent today putting up no racks and getting some of the moving boxes empited and contents either trashed or shelved. Yeah, we've been in this house over a year and still haven't unpacked it all. But it's imperative no because she wants her lights up! We're white lights too. Ha, that reminds me of living back East (Delaware) and the age old "battle" between the elegant, understated white lights

and the multi colored or (horrors! single color OTHER than white lights)

Of course it happened, one rather prominent development with nice houses had someone move in who put up gasp!

GREEN lights for Christmas! And then put up red/orange for Halloween the next year! I won't say what the house looked like in this PG forum but think of Amsterdam
You're wearing a tux too? yay! I won't be alone

I bought one from Bloomie's (via eBay)--brand new Joseph Aboud--along with shoes and a special

vest for less than it would have cost to rent one from the local formalwear store. Men's Wearhouse tailored it in an hour for me. DS' infant tux also came from an eBay source. DW has been flipping out because while you'll find
all kinds of dressy outfits for girls (lace, satin, velvet etc) all the way down to Preemie sizes, there's squat for boys!

And what they DO have for boys (a tie, shirt and sweater vest) is usually mucked up with a car or train or some such nonesense! You
can get some nice elegant dressy stuff but you gotta pay $65 for Ralph Lauren or Baby Gap
DW special ordered a formal dress wich she was kvetching about because she wasnt sure if it would be big enough. It fits her like a M*A*S*H tent!!!

So she's going to a seamstress who can fix it.
She promises not to overpack for this trip

and is going to get a head start this week since we leave in 10 DAYS!!!!
