I have gotten a little stumped on what to do with the nametags. (I have been organizing a big Christmas craft fair and am a little on creative brain overload.) I know I asked if people were writing their names on it, but what else? Are you doing something special Jon? Are people attaching pins or ??? to the backs?

Michelle - I all Did was put our name on it, user-id and DCL 11/05 on it. We laminated it, since we printed them out ourselves (Using the Mickey that DisneyBride96 put up a while ago). Then we attached a Safety Pins on them.

FYI - My name tag will say "JONATHAN" although I do sign everything on the computer as "JON".

Congrats - :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We'll probably be at the Radisson pool in the early evening. As to name tags, I had some old plastic ones with pins on the back and I just cut out the Mickey head and put our names, user ID and relationship (DD ETC) on them and put them inside the plastic. It's going to be 60 here today so I'm going to try to convince DH that we should hang the Christmas lights outside. Once we get back from the cruise we're going to be busy with all of the holiday stuff!!

Ugh...hanging xmas lights!! Today, I have leaves to take care of and a garage to clean out to fit my DW's car back into or I may be sleeping in said garage.

I usually use thanksgiving weekend to hang lights and decorate the outside of the house. We are a white lights family.

My DW is packing the kids stuff today. Getting formal stuff for the kids is a tough challenge. I'm sending my Tux to the cleaners tomorrow and getting ready to wear it. Proud to say it still fits and actually its a little big on me. I couldn't always say that.

I can't wait to be on board sipping cold adult beverages feeling the sun warm my body.

Anyone doing Spa treatments? We are doing the Romantic Package. A massage for 2 should be interesting.

I love my kids, but having them taken care of while we are pampered sounds very very very good to me.

Hope everyone's college team won yesterday. The Pats are playing in Miami, and we are banged up so a win would be very nice. I went to the MNF game against Indy. It was disappointing to say the least, only good thing was sitting in a luxury box thanks to a good friend of mine (note to self - need more friends with luxury boxes :-).

Anyway, Happy Sunday to all....

T-Minus 13 days and counting.....

BooMC - what time is your fight into Orlando? We have an 11 out of Boston and arrive around 3:00. The pool will be calling my name....

We are going to Kennedy Space Center on Friday after our Thanksgiving at MGM. We will probably take the kids to the pool at the Radisson after catching some dinner. I will make sure we wear our name tags, and will keep any eye out for those Alien Green Mickeys! Have fun hanging the lights!

We had to get new lights this year. I told DH that we needed to have the lights up before we left for the cruise. That was his only "before cruise" task. I also promised not to nag or remind him - VERY HARD!! He spent the morning after church raking leaves. I'm sure lights will be next, but I'm not going to say anything to him . . . LOL

We're putting our tree up and decorating on Thanksgiving so it will be ready to go when we return. I'm also painting the kitchen in my spare time . . . Off to put another coat on the doors.

Have a terrific day!

P.S. For those who are watching: Weather today in St. Thomas is Fair and 87 degrees F!

Good news, a Pats victory and the garage is done. I can sleep in the house.

87 F sounds very good to me. :cool1:

Good for you. I am packing up the animals food right now for when we are gone. When that is done, my chores will be done.

Louie - we arrive at about 4:30. We'll probably go swimming first and then mini-golfing or vice versa. Haven't decided yet but I'm sure we'll be by the pool at some point.

The Christmas lights are up :cool1: but it was insanely windy outside. Thought we were going to blow away!!

:rotfl: The garage gods must have lit the fire under both of us! I spent today putting up no racks and getting some of the moving boxes empited and contents either trashed or shelved. Yeah, we've been in this house over a year and still haven't unpacked it all. But it's imperative no because she wants her lights up! We're white lights too. Ha, that reminds me of living back East (Delaware) and the age old "battle" between the elegant, understated white lights :snooty: and the multi colored or (horrors! single color OTHER than white lights) :jester: Of course it happened, one rather prominent development with nice houses had someone move in who put up gasp! GREEN lights for Christmas! And then put up red/orange for Halloween the next year! I won't say what the house looked like in this PG forum but think of Amsterdam ;)

You're wearing a tux too? yay! I won't be alone :) I bought one from Bloomie's (via eBay)--brand new Joseph Aboud--along with shoes and a special :earsboy: vest for less than it would have cost to rent one from the local formalwear store. Men's Wearhouse tailored it in an hour for me. DS' infant tux also came from an eBay source. DW has been flipping out because while you'll find all kinds of dressy outfits for girls (lace, satin, velvet etc) all the way down to Preemie sizes, there's squat for boys! :headache: And what they DO have for boys (a tie, shirt and sweater vest) is usually mucked up with a car or train or some such nonesense! You can get some nice elegant dressy stuff but you gotta pay $65 for Ralph Lauren or Baby Gap :(

DW special ordered a formal dress wich she was kvetching about because she wasnt sure if it would be big enough. It fits her like a M*A*S*H tent!!! :rotfl2: So she's going to a seamstress who can fix it.

She promises not to overpack for this trip  and is going to get a head start this week since we leave in 10 DAYS!!!! :hyper:

There are 24 of us flying in on Thanskgiving day and staying at the Port Orleans Riverside. On Friday we will be eating at the Liberty Tree Tavern for a belated Thanksgiving dinner. Has anyone been following the weather at Disney World. I was wondering if I should pack some sweats?

Hi Lisa! I have lived in Florida for 10 years and the weather can vary from being warm enough for shorts to being cold enough for heavy coats (probably not for Northerners, but I have seen days in November where the high is only 50 and colder than that with the wind chill). We actually learned this lesson a few years ago coming back from a cruise. We left that Saturday before Thanksgiving and the highs were in the 80's. Came back the following Saturday to a high of only 45. Unfortunately, we were not prepared and had packed all of our jeans and jackets in the bags we set out the night before disembarking. I happened to also come down with Norwalk during the night, so I was standing in the line to disembark and was freezing (had a nice fever going, too). :cold: As soon as our bags were collected, we were busy digging out the warmest clothes we had for the ride home. Last year, I was smart and kept our jackets in a carry on to take off the morning we left the ship. I also wisely checked with guest services for a weather report for PC for the day we got back. We even left heavier coats in our truck at the port, just in case we got a real cold snap. Best thing I can tell you is to toss in a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt, just in case. The sweatshirt you can always buy at WDW, but the pants are more difficult to replace. Hope this helps. :teeth:

Hi everyone, I had a question...cruise newbie here.
As I was going over our docs, I noticed on the page in the booklet that gives DCL permission to watch and care for your kids in the clubs, it has a place where a notary signs?? When does this happen? Do I have to do it before the cruise, or do they fill it out at the registration desk. I have never heard anything on the boards about this.....

Michelle,

I don't have my doc's with me right now, I do have to work before we finally leave on the cruise ;) , but I think the part you are thinking about is if you are bringing a child who is not your own. For example, if I brought my nephew with me, I would need to fill out that card and have it notarized, before the cruise, so they know I am not kidnapping my nephew.

You only need this form if traveling with children in which you are not thier legal guardian or traveling as a single parent. I am traveling with my niece so I need it for her. If you need to bring it you need the childs legal guardian to sign it and have it notarized prior to your arrival at the cruise.

Hope this helps....

jonesing - Now I know who has been upping the cost of the boys suits on eBay. I've been working to buy my boys nice suits for formal night without spending my life savings. They're still more than I'd like on eBay. I know they will only wear them for the ship and outgrow them before they could wear them again :(

I like the idea of buying dh a tux on eBay. That's sounds like a great idea. I'll have to check it this morning. He's stayed the same size (mostly) for many years. Thanks for the idea!

Oh my gosh! Only 12 more days!! Help, I'm hyperventalating!! :teeth: We've got so much to do . . . off to paint more of the kitchen!

Have a terrific day!

I made up a word file this morning with the Mickey Tags that you can print out and use for our meet. You can type in your personal info. I'm going to laminate ours. If anyone is interested send me a PM and I can email it to you. If I can figure out a way to post it, I will.

I guess Mother Nature wants us to ALL worry about another storm before we go on our cruise. Hopefully, it stays away from everything and does not affect our cruise.
