I have a question for everyone: Where are you staying before/after the cruise? We will be staying at Ron Jon before the cruise and we are not sure where after - I need to figure that out this weekend.

Thanksgiving Day we fly to TPA and have dinner with relatives. Friday we're off to the Renaissance Orlando Airport (after I make a side trip for some Black Friday shopping) :hyper: Our 2 friends from Delaware to fly down Friday evening and will join us at the hotel. Then we're up early and drive to the Port to beat the shuttle bus crowd. :earboy2:

After the cruise we're staying at the Portofino Bay at Universal for a couple of days and then we're off to Animal Kingdom Loge for the rest of our stay. :cloud9:

Count us in for staying at the Radisson pre-cruise. Jon, is this some additional information you could add to the Cruise Meet thread???? :rotfl2: Maybe we should wear our fluorescent Mickey tags around the Radisson? Could get some of the meeting and greeting started early! :teeth:

Joanne :earsgirl:

Joanne - Since it seems most of you are going early and staying at port, I will add this to the list. I will let you everyone know when it has been added.

jon

I have updated the list with where everyone is staying the night before. I only went back one page. So if you stated it before and it is not on the list, just repost and I will update the list.

Nice to come back and read lots of posts!!

Our seven kiddos are all dressing up for pirate night. Dh and I are not, but will color coordinate in red and black.

We are staying pre cruise at Gaylord Palms (want to do the ICE thing)

Good Morning....two weeks from today we'll be cruising....

We are staying at the Radisson day before and Nick Hotel the day after.

We will be spending 5 nights at POP Century. On Thanksgiving, we will be moving over to Cypress Grand Villas for 2 nights. I'll need that washer and dryer! Saturday morning we will drive over to the port. I can't wait to see that beautiful ship! :sunny: We will be spending 1 night after the cruise at Wilderness Lodge, but that's a secret - my family doesn't know! ;)

Hey, I did call DCL and they put down our anniversary. Thanks for giving me the push to do it. They asked which day we would like to celebrate it. So, I said Sunday! Another surprise for the hubby! Gee, I wish I had some surprises coming. But, as they say better to give than receive.

I'm about half packed now! YAAAA!

7 more sleeps!

hey - You may not be getting any surprises, but you will be elated and so happy when you see the faces of everyone you are surprising. I would much rather give surprises then be surprised.

So far I have updated everyone on the list that I know of.

I am in the middle of packing and will be working on our name tags today.

Those at the staying at the Radisson the night before. If you want to me add a pre-cruise meeting place for you, just let me know.

We are staying in St. Augustine at the World Golf Village. We are leaving home on Wednesday. Upon our return, we are immediately heading north, Atlanta, for a friend's suprise birthday party. So we won't be joining the group pre-cruise party. I will be with you in spririt. :teleport:

Someone said something about Universal overbooking. We go a few times a year, and we have been pleased everytime. My boys enjoy Islands of Adventure more :charac4: , but we prefer Universal side.

We are making our plans for next fall. Has anyone done Trick or treating in the parks? :maleficen We heard it was awesome. We are making our plans for next October.

I am going to try to finish up packing this week. I am taking a day off of work just to complete everything. It will work better with the kids off to school. See you all soon. Happy packing and safe travels for the group leaving early.

jjbescher - YOU ARE AWESOME.
I just wanted to let you know that I read post 358 and I was amazed by your organizational skills and abilities. We need to get you a special gift at the cruise gathering. You have kept this thing organized and up to date. You are my hero!! :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you. Your hard work and effort has not gone unnoticed. I hope that your family has a surprise for you on the cruise. You have certainly made it more special for me. :disrocks:

With that said - keep up the good work. I am sure that we will have tons of more information in the next two weeks.

Just wanted to say - thank you.

We have done the Mickey's not so scary Halloween Party. But we have not ever done the universal thing. We loved the halloween party. There are some of disney's people that just look like everyone else on the streets that pick 20 kids for each parade at night (there are two parades) and those kids get to ride in a hay wagon with the characters and they take them back to get ready with the characters and give the parents a special place to stand, then the kids get a certificate thanking them for being grand marshalls in the parade. My kids were choosen for this, only 2 of the 3 would do it, but they loved it. Even alot of the adults dress up for this. You want to go with a very light load, becouse it is very busy. And with the special things that are set up it seems like you are going to the same place as everyone else. It is kinda like disney in the summer you have to take a deep breath and get use to being walked on. But if you can handle that and not let other peoples rudeness get on your nerves you will have a great time. We would go back for this. But my favorite will always be Mickeys christmas party, we are doing that after the cruise. the hotels have so many decorations and it is unbelievable. If anyone has the time to go from hotel to hotel at disney, you should you will not believe the way it is decorated for christmas. Don't forget your camara.

The xmas party was excellent at Disney and the decorations are awesome. Just remember, the Magic will also be decorated for christmas along with Castaway Cay.

We went on the DCL last year right before Christmas and then went to the parks after the cruise for a few days. We were in Magic Kingdom on Christmas. The parade was wonderful. I wanted to do it again this year, but the expense of the extra days was too much. Christmas at Disney is truly magical.

I think we will try the trick or treating in the parks next year.

Thanks for your input.

OK, I am here at the office, taking a forced break. I have to do network maint. when eveyrone is off the network, came in today to get some things handled. Was in the middle when the owner comes in and wants to use the computers.

So, how is your day?

My day has been great. I have been able to clean up and do stuff for the trip. As relaxing as it can get, except for tomorrow when I am watching fottbal from 1 till bedtime.

Sorry, that you can't get your work done. I understand when you are stuck at work not being able to do things. I guess it is even worse on weekends.

jon

Yep, I would much rather be home packing. I would leave, but home is over 1 hour away.

I may have to accidentally unplug the boss man from the network.

Thing about jobs (or clients) is that you need them to help supply your Disney Cruising habit . . .LOL

We had a great day. My DS's FIRST LEGO team came in first place in the regional competition. Problem is that the state tournament is December 3-4. We planned on an extra day at WDW after the cruise. Ummmm .. decisions . . .

Hope you get your networking done so you can watch some football, too.

Have a great night!

We will be staying at the Radisson the night before. If anyone wants to do a precruise meet, that sounds great with us. We will be there all day, probably out by the pool, etc, so we will be around.

I have gotten a little stumped on what to do with the nametags. (I have been organizing a big Christmas craft fair and am a little on creative brain overload.) I know I asked if people were writing their names on it, but what else? Are you doing something special Jon? Are people attaching pins or ??? to the backs?

I sooo need to at least start packing. After Tuesday, things should really slow down for me! :teeth: I have at least been setting things aside like autograph books, and cruise things so it will be a little easier for me.
Do they have DCL autograph books? I don't want to pack these if I am just going to buy some when I am there.

Boss or no, I would have sent him packing. Tactfully of course, but packing nonetheless. :rolleyes1

I spent the day getting the garage organized (moved into this house over a year ago and still have moving boxed!) Going to do more tomorrow. Once the new shelves are in place we have to CLEAN the house. I have a coworker house sitting while we're away, she's relishing the chance to watch cable TV  --she cancelled her TV (not internet of course) service and just downloads her fav TV shows like Gilmore Girls, Laguna Beach and stuff from Noggin (yeah, she's 24). Anyway, she and her dog :dog2: will be staying here watching our 2 dogs :dog: :dog: so we can save the $500+ in kennel fees :smooth:
