Booked with National Emerald Isle using the KLM code back in May for Nov 25th to Dec 1st for $177. Haven't been able to get anything lower since them. Will keep trying up to the day before we leave.

This is weird. If I select Canada as my residence (which it is) I get the $92 rate. If I select US I get WAY higher. Wonder why that is? The difference is not exchange because I always look at USD and if it was, the Canadian would be higher anyway.

Tampa is insanely expensive. You might get a better deal renting from Alamo in Tampa, returning at Disney car care center, rerenting (usually) the same car for $20/day while there and then returning/re-renting for Tampa the last day.

Rent your days at Disney there and do a return/separate rental to Tampa the last day. It might be way cheaper.nit was for us.

I have a rental with Alamo ($265 for 13 days). I called them to check on adding a discount code and the rep told me that even if I just changed a name it would cause the reservation to recalculate at current rates. He also said to keep on checking right up to that day because if they find they have too many cars they will drop the rates.

Just a reminder to everyone to keep checking rates. I am down to $118 for 11/5-11/10 total out of Tampa. This rate has changed so often but never this low. That for a Ford Focus (full size). We usually book with Budget, but Alamo was cheaper for both Nov and our April trip (which is out of MCO), using the same codes.

I rented a full-sized car in September for $90 all in.
The same thing for Nov is over $300!!!

When will these prices start to drop?!

Crazy, right?? I finally got my rental down to $193 for a week in November. That's $15 less then what I paid for 2 weeks in August.

Im looking into using my AMEX points to pay for my car rental. Choices are AVIS, Enterprise, & Hertz. Does anyone know of a location near the Yacht Club for these three companies? Unfortunately, using Alamo or National at the Dolphin or Car Care center is just too expensive, and I can't use my AMEX points either.

I know Avis and Enterprise have locations in the DTD hotel area; not sure about Hertz, as I have never even considered them due to their high prices.

I'm thinking that is probably about when I got the rate I have.
I was so focused on my Sep rental, that I just got too casual about checking Nov's.

I really had hoped for a better price than I have, but looking at them now, I suppose I should be happy I locked in when I did!
I will definitely keep checking. I just won't hold my breath on finding a better rate!

Yeah, they haven't been going down at all. The standard car at Alamo I booked through Costco was $160 and is now going for $340.

I had another Alamo reservation for $130 but I used a coupon code that should've been invalid for the time period. I'll probably just go with the Costco reservation, which includes an additional driver, just to be safe. I don't think I'll get it any cheaper.

The best rate I've been ale to get was on Sept 6th. Rates went down for about 24hrs and then back up only to fluctuate up and down slightly since then for my dates Nov 12-22.
I have a 10 day minivan rental with Alamo for $292.23 Used the AP holder contract code and a $30 off coupon.

I was able to get my best rate ($112 all in for the week) wild card with Thrifty in Mid August - using AAA MCO pick up and drop and I got my parents (whose trip is overlapping with ours) for $131(all in for for a week) a mid size Alamo Car Care Center pick up and drop using BJ's the same day. It has not even been in the same ballpark price wise since that one day. And I check 1-2 times a day every day just in case Barring any last minute specials, I am going with these.
