NOVEMBER 2012 Trip Planners Part 2~yes there IS another!

We rented from Orlando Stroller Rental last time and loved it. The advantage with Disney is that you don't have to lug it on the bus etc. The disadvantage is you don't have it for traveling around your resort.

We rented the double strollers from Disney for our first trip, and were amazed at how well they handled! But the walk to the room was LOOONG without a stroller.

The last two trips, we brought our Joovy Caboose from home, and all three kids usually ended up on it by the end of the day. Needless to say, it is now totally shot.

I was on the theme parks board today, and there were a couple of recommendations for the First Years "Jet" and "Ignite" strollers for bigger kids. They're pretty inexpensive, and I'm thinking it will be much cheaper than the stroller rental. We have a trip to Chicago coming up, and I think my daughter will want to ride there. We might get another couple of Disney trips out of it, too.

I'm booking with Air Tran tonight. Only "cheap" non-stop flight. Their prices haven't changed in 3 days and their non-stop flights were cheapest. Not looking forward to driving to Philly and trying to find our way around (with 3 kids) for the 1st time. Was hoping to get out of Newark, but flights are $300 or more per person each way. WAY too much money! Hoping that the Philly airport isn't too hard to negotiate. I'm considering shipping our clothes/meds/toiletries to my in-laws in FL instead of paying for 2 checked suitcases. I'll have to see if it comes out cheaper. Does anybody have 5 yr olds that pull their carry-on suitcase and carry their backpack through an airport without complaining? :rotfl:

My DD has been doing it since she was 2.

Stroller rental - that's next on my list. I don't think we need one, but DH says we do. Then again, the backpack he carries with his camera gear weighs 75 pounds with everything in it so he really just wants it to be able to take a rest from his gear. :rotfl:

Not sure if you are flying SW but they offer free stroller baggage check/gate check and its not counted as one of your checked bags :)

Glad to hear you had a good experience with OSR. We are going to rent a 2012 Cuty MiniGT from them for our son. I read that the new 2012 GT models are good for bigger kids. He is only 3 but is pretty tall (40 inches already and 43 lbs.) and I want him to be comfortable

Do y'all rent from Disney or an outside company? Just wondering what the concensus is on stroller rentals. Princesses will be 3 and 16 months when we go.

There are a few companies that will deliver a stroller to/from your resort. Orlando Stroller Rentals & Magic Strollers I think are the most used.

Orlando Strollers: They offer Singles and Doubles at different price ranges based on the type of stroller you want and the number of days needed. They offer 3 different Baby Jogger Models in both single and doubles and they also offer Special Needs PushChairs. You get to choose your drop off and pick up times.

Magic Strollers: Also offer the Baby Jogger brand. Single $15 first day $8 each added day Doubles $25 first day $9 each added day 10:00am drop off time 2:00pm pick up time

I agree with him completely! "Stuff" is the reason we're bringing a stroller with us, even though my youngest is four!

'stuff' is why we are taking a stroller for our 4yo DD :lmao:

:thumbsup2 Good to know!

My return flight went up $25 already! good thing I booked

They'll be going up and down a LOT over the next 6 months! I bet a lot of you that booked yesterday will have a nice chunk of credit by the time your trips get here :thumbsup2 The flights from here dropped $20 each way since yesterday.

I've been thinking and thinking of ways to surprise the kids on the day we leave for Disney! We are leaving November 10th....so I have time, but I would love ideas! DS is turning 8 in early December and DD will have just had a birthday (Nov.6th) by the time we leave...so we are thinking something that centers around going to Disney for their birthdays :goodvibes
I would love any ideas from you guys :)

Scavenger hunts seem to be popular. Look on youtube. There are tons of ideas on their. We still haven't decide how or when we are going to surprise DD and DS. I'd really like to surprise them the morning we leave, but our house is too small and the kids are too nosey for me to be able to hide me packing.

Mommyof3princesses surprised her daughters a few weeks ago and posted a youtube video.

Speaking of strollers, American Airlines lost our Maclaren Volo that we gate checked on our way to Turks and Caicos. I had it in a bright red gate check bag with our info on it too. We were there for 10 days and it showed up at our hotel room on the last night. I was glad to get it back but it really didn't help for that particular trip. Stupid airlines!

We are in Newark..and unfortunately we have to wait till the 6PM flight on SW out of Philly on the 9th...we have a few teachers in our family with limited vacation. :confused3

We were going to go to work and school Friday and then fly down in the evening, but we ended up signing up to do the 5k in animal kingdom and we have to go to the health expo Friday to pick up our race packets. I'm happy for the extra day but it's one more the kids will miss from school.

Add us to the list! I've been lurking for awile, but finally decided to join in! We are going November 10- 18 staying at POR. This is our 5th straight trip! Booked flights on Monday through SW with really great times and used points for all of the tickets!

:welcome: I will add you! :thumbsup2 .

You can add us to the list. We'll be in WDW 11/9-11/18. Not sure which resort yet. Either CS if Free Dining comes out for our dates. If not then BW with BB offer or maybe AP discount if it comes out. Then we head to the in laws in New Smyrna Beach for a week. This will be our last Disney trip until we move to FLORIDA next July. YEAH!!!!!!!
