Booked our flights yesterday on SW. Waited 2 hours after first looking at them and it cost me an extra $100! Got 5 of us from Buffalo to Orlando at $1700. Thought that was a good deal. If we had flown out of Hamilton it would have cost us $2800 plus we would have lost 2 days of vacay b/c they only fly on Saturdays. :sad2:

The thing is the flight now leaves Buffalo at 7:55am on Friday. Being arguing with DH about getting a room the night before in Buffalo. It would be about $150 (including the shuttle to the airport and parking for the week). But we would know we'd not have to worry about the drive down that morning with weather and border crossing. He wants to leave our house at 4:30am and just head to the airport. Parking for the week will cost us $88 that way. To me its worth the extra.

Any thoughts?

I'm all for going the night before

Forgot to add I looked up our flights this morning and they've already gone up $1000 for 5 of us. So glad I got those done!

Now all I have to do is get FD and book our stroller rental. :cool1:

wanted to add to all searching for flights - dont forget about some of the smaller airports! We live in Baltimore so BWI is ideal but the airfare is waaay too much. I checked out Reagen Int. (DCA is the code) and we got RT non stop flights on jetblue for $634 for 3 of us!

***Pixie Dust*** to all of us still waiting for FD <3

I went to disneyland years ago and I still talk about the Indiana Jones ride. I would love to go back someday!:)
Love DL and Indy!!:thumbsup2

Would it be crazy to book an ADR at CRT with 2 boys (11 and almost 5). Right now for our 2nd MK day we are booked at GFC but if BOG opens then we will switch.
But now I'm thinking if BOG isn't open it would be cool to try CRT. This is our 3rd trip and we never even considered CRT as an option with 2 boys.

If we book CRT, we would pay OOP at SciFi to use the credits for CRT?

What do you all think? Also...this would be our Pirate's League day.
WE took my just turned 4yo son last year and he loved it (dinner). They give the boys swords and i figured this is one of the few times I would be able to get him in the castle, unless we are lucky enough to get pregnant again and have a girl! He really loved it and to be honest, i had low expectations on the food, but it was really good. Your 5you will enjoy it, your 11you might be 'over it' at his age, but i say do it!

Making our first WDW Xmas trip this Nov 27th-Dec 4th. First time staying at the Contemporary. First Time at the MVMCP. First time seeing the Osborne Lights. A lot of firsts for us. And it's a surprise trip for my daughter's 13th birthday. We're waking her up at 4am and having her watch a home video I will make, kind of "Price is Right" style, saying she has won a fabulous seven night stay at WDW! Then its on the plane at 6am and into Orlando by 1030am. She'll never know what hit her... can't wait!!!!:woohoo:
Wow lots of firsts! Be sure and watch WISHES from the outdoor deck at CR, it's a great view- they have benches out there too. We own at BLT, so CR is partially our home! Can't wait to hear how the surprise goes!:goodvibes

i would definitely spend the extra to stay the night before and be close. You just never know with flights/airports......why risk it- i'd just stay the night before. ;)

Spending $150 on a room is a hard thing to do knowing you wont get any sleep anyway, but at least you are in Buffalo. I have had bad experiences with US customs people delaying me big time. You do not want to miss your flight.

I got lucky with my flights I booked them with Airmile reward points, fly out of Sudbury Ont. Transfer in Toronto. Total $850 taxed in for the 5 of us :)

We have 15 peeps in our group and we are not getting rooms next to the airport.

We are going to leave at 4am for a 7am flight. I am looking into a super stretch SUV or limo shuttle bus. I can get these for double the price of parking for the week or double the cost of hotel rooms. I leave the driving to someone else.

If I had to cross the border, I would definitely do it the night before.

The whole early morning flight is why we are going a day earlier. For us to catch the 6:30am flight, we would have to leave home at 3:30am or stay the night at or near the airport. If we didn't do the 6:30am flight, we weren't getting to MCO until 4pm which stinks. I initially chose stay @ airport, but then my devious disney brain kicked in :rolleyes1...flight the night before was the same price and the airport hotel was around the same price as AoA. Tada - another night in WDW! :cool1:

Gotta love the disney math. :teacher:

Stroller rental - that's next on my list. I don't think we need one, but DH says we do. Then again, the backpack he carries with his camera gear weighs 75 pounds with everything in it so he really just wants it to be able to take a rest from his gear. :rotfl:

I tried to figure that out but the flight the night before would have had a stop over and the flight would have been about 7 hours long! :scared1: Plus DH has to work Thursday and we would have only landed at 11pm. Not worth it for us. Not to mention the flights were more expensive the night before. :confused3

I agree with him completely! "Stuff" is the reason we're bringing a stroller with us, even though my youngest is four!

I decided to take a look at Delta to see if their flight prices had changed. I'm already booked so it really doesn't help me. Non-stop RT out of CVG has dropped to $276.10. That's down $50 from about 2-3 weeks ago. Thought this might help someone!

My youngest is 4 too. Oh well, if it makes DH happy so be it.

I'm booking with Air Tran tonight. Only "cheap" non-stop flight. Their prices haven't changed in 3 days and their non-stop flights were cheapest. Not looking forward to driving to Philly and trying to find our way around (with 3 kids) for the 1st time. Was hoping to get out of Newark, but flights are $300 or more per person each way. WAY too much money! Hoping that the Philly airport isn't too hard to negotiate. I'm considering shipping our clothes/meds/toiletries to my in-laws in FL instead of paying for 2 checked suitcases. I'll have to see if it comes out cheaper. Does anybody have 5 yr olds that pull their carry-on suitcase and carry their backpack through an airport without complaining? :rotfl:

Do y'all rent from Disney or an outside company? Just wondering what the concensus is on stroller rentals. Princesses will be 3 and 16 months when we go.

We rented from Orlando Stroller Rental last time and loved it. The advantage with Disney is that you don't have to lug it on the bus etc. The disadvantage is you don't have it for traveling around your resort.

We usually fly out of PHL but we also go up to EWR when it's cheaper (usually for Aruba). If you are used to EWR you should have no problem at PHL.

My DS 5 and DD 2 both pulled their suitcases and love it. Mind you we have Lightning McQueen and Princess suitcases that are carry on size. However they do move a little slower with them.

We just bought one of the Hays Spinner Carry-On bags when they were on sale at Target, and my four year old LOVES to carry it. We traveled this weekend, and she wouldn't give it up to the valet. She brought it up to the room all by herself!
