All these surprise trips sound fantastic (well all the trips sounds fantastic but you know what I mean).

As of right now we are booked November 28- December 5 at POR- in the royal rooms. We have free dining and I have all of our ADR done so now it is just transport.
We have a minivan rented and will drive down there unless we can get crazy cheap flights. I am SO excited (and now sure how I am going to wait until the end of November).

Can you add me to the list at the beginning, please?! We just made a decision to take another trip back to the world!!! I have been trying to find a time to take another trip since we returned from our last trip 2 months ago. I have been scouring the school calendar for days off around weekends but not during busy travel times. Our last couple of trips have been Spring Break/Easter, Thanksgiving and Fourth of July week. I really wanted to travel at a low crowd time. We finally settled on Nov. 2 - Nov. 7. DS has 1/2 day on Nov. 2 and off on Nov. 6th. Hoping for low crowds...keep reading about the start of Jersey week. We are staying at WL - Club. I booked our airfare today. Had been checking out United and JetBlue out of DCA and waited for SW rates today because we prefer BWI. United and JB were basically the same price but factor in baggage fees and JB won that round. SW was ridiculous. Used to love flying SW but they are horrible lately. The cost was $330 round trip and one flight had a stop. So JB it is ($260 R/T) and all booked. We fly out 7:25am 11/2 and return on the 7pm flight 11/7!! I love the flights but DH hates them. He wanted to fly out a little later and come back an hour or two earlier. Oh well - maximum vacation time as far as I'm concerned. I started making a few ADR's but then started getting really tripped up on our daily plan. Plus with on 6 park days I don't want to be bogged down with a bunch of ADR's. I may be the only one not hoping for FD! I want a room only discount. I bought our park tickets on Saturday from Undercover Tourist and booked the room only with AAA discount.
Looking forward to planning another trip!!

I just realized I forgot to ask to be added to the list! I had been waiting to see if we could get AoA and got so excited over the free dining when I changed it that I forgot to post! Could you add us? Nov. 9-15 at AoA Celebrating DD's 3rd bday!!

I know! As you can see, I haven't even made a new ticker!! I had one counting down for my ADR date, then erased it and haven't put one up--it was just gonna seem like forever at 5 months, so I thought I would wait a couple of weeks! Glad I did! I thought around 150 days would be better--even though that's still a ways to go, it's better than it was at 180!!
I am still waiting until July/August to do airfare, that's when we start to see a drop--around the 12 week mark,it hasn't came down at all in the last 3 months anyway, so there is no sense in us even looking yet.

I just called again to check for FD and he repeated my first and last name and said "yes! you have one!" and then asked my dates and tried to apply it and then said "I'm so sorry, this is someone else with your same name"

That's just WRONG !!! I've lost hope for a PIN code now and am waiting for the GP deal to be released. Here's hoping it's soon . --Katie

I looked at SW this morning and to fly the 3 of us it would be $1275.60. I checked the prices at Delta for the same flights I have already booked $1219.80. I paid $973.20 when I booked. Even with bag fees I still come out ahead. We have to fly out of DTW and SW doesn't offer non-stop. I would rather fly non-stop.

My family is going to fly out of there too. We've been watching the prices and right now they are around $300 ish per person...we are hoping for a drop, but I told them they should snatch it now.
My DD and I are flying in earlier and decided to drive down to Columbus and fly SW there direct. my sister lives in Columbus, so we can go the night before and get up at the crack of dawn for our flight.

I was hoping for some better deals than what I currently see for airfare. I've checked 3 different airports (all within 1 - 2 hours) and South West seems to have the best prices/non-stop flights/time choices but I am still having a hard time convincing myself to buy!!

$1046 RT for 4 vs. 11 hours in the van with a 8 & 6 year old

In 2009 we paid $463, 2010 $580, and 2011 $900 (which I wasn't happy about but my husband was adamant)...


How does everyone else feel? Anyone familiar with how the credit card promo works? Would it benefit me to activate a card and make a purchase to get the promo? Or would airfare go up before I was even able to take advantage

For 4 that is a decent price. not the best, but it might not go any lower. We paid more than that for 3 in March..of course we booked last minute too. One year i got us for $350 total round trip with bags on Spirit. I hate Spirit, but it was a good deal. Never saw anything like that again.

Booked our flights yesterday on SW. Waited 2 hours after first looking at them and it cost me an extra $100! Got 5 of us from Buffalo to Orlando at $1700. Thought that was a good deal. If we had flown out of Hamilton it would have cost us $2800 plus we would have lost 2 days of vacay b/c they only fly on Saturdays.

The thing is the flight now leaves Buffalo at 7:55am on Friday. Being arguing with DH about getting a room the night before in Buffalo. It would be about $150 (including the shuttle to the airport and parking for the week). But we would know we'd not have to worry about the drive down that morning with weather and border crossing. He wants to leave our house at 4:30am and just head to the airport. Parking for the week will cost us $88 that way. To me its worth the extra.

Any thoughts?
