November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

Another teacher here. We go back to work on Monday for a week of professional days and then the kds start the following week. Where did summer go? I can't believe it is pretty much over. We are trying to enjoy the last weekend together as a family.

What county are you in? I saw the Maryland in your info... I am in Anne Arundel. Not sure that I'm ready for summer to be over, but ready or not here it comes!

I live in Montgomery county. I know it's coming. It was just a rough group last year so I am really hoping this year is better. I have to get myself motivated and try to be as positive as possible. I saw my class lists though and have a lot of great families so hopefully that will make things easier. Good luck with this school year!

ME Too, Are all teachers Disney freaks? We have 2 teacher days, Fri and Monday and then students back on Tuesday 8/21

That is the only nice thing about not having a summer break since I work outside the school system - no end of August 'summer is over!!!' blues! :lmao: My summer doesn't end for another month and a half... until the weather turns bad, or September 21st, whichever comes first! Work is year round except for my glorious two weeks of vacation and sick time so the seasons don't really matter like that. :thumbsup2

My husband works in Gaithersburg and commutes from Annapolis four days a week. We have a conversation every couple of months about moving to Montgomery County especially when he has had a horrible string of bad traffic. We haven't made the jump yet. Love living next to the Bay...
This is a weird year for me...I'm changing position and schools for the first time in seven years! I have been a Behavior Specialist in a middle school ED program. I decided I wanted to get back in the classroom and work in "normal" special ed, so I'm going back in the classroom to be a co-teacher in a closer to home middle school. It just happens to be the middle school that my DS is going into this year. :rolleyes1 Didn't seek out this school, just worked out that way. I'm looking forward to a new school, faculty, and hopefully kids who don't have outrageous behaviors and language all day, every day! :rolleyes1

Im in Harford County...not a teacher but still:)

Yay! Maryland!! I grew up in Jersey, it's funny when people throw out counties that are not in my immediate area (Howard, Montgomery, PG, Baltimore) I have to think a little harder where that it is... :thumbsup2

In my opinion having the summer off is the best and worst part of being a teacher! I love my time and getting to spend lots of time with DS and visiting my family but hate this part, dragging my butt back to work. As a teacher we never grow up out of our summers off and praying for a snow day! :rotfl2:

I am another Marylander also!! I grew up in Towson, moved to Pikesville when I got married, lived in Eldersburg for a short time then moved here to Ocean Pines on the Eastern Shore. I am a Nurse Case Manager and I am at the point in my life where my job really is very flexible, which is awesome. No more 12 hr shifts and no more nights, thank God!! I did them for years!!! Its really nice to see so many other people here from MD- and who knows we just may see each other at BWI. Have a great night everyone!!

ITA, I'm a teacher too and I just love the summer! Although in Florida we can't really hope for snow days...and wishing for a hurricane just feels wrong so I'll just begin the countdown to thanksgiving break lol.

Wow! That is a commute! We love Montgomery county. I also grew up in New Jersey. Didn't move here until after college when I met my husband. He grew up here and jobs were better here than in NJ.

Went to Salisbury and used to babysit a family that lived near Ocean Pines in Bishopville.

I miss my classes, and my students. Happy school year to the teachers going back to work. I truly miss working, but daycare is just to much. Until DD is in school I stay home :( plus they just laid off 300 teachers in our schools. Good luck and I hope you have a great classroom :)

I picked them up at Joann Fabrics today. They are made by Simplicity a company that does sewing patterns and books. You might be able to google Simplicity Princess Tutu kits and find them. They were $12.99 I think the rack of ribbons is my favorite. I wanted to buy every one but I just got the Cinderella one.

I picked up the snow white and belle tutus for my girls today. We used a 40% off coupon for each to save a little extra cash. You can get the coupon through your smartphone if you have one!

:woohoo: I just changed our dates!!! :woohoo:

I talked my DS13 into missing 2 school basketball games and marching with the band in the Christmas Parade so I could move our trip!!! (Yes, I have a "band jock")

I just couldn't stand the thoughts of walking into AKL with no Christmas Tree!!!!

Our new dates are:
November 25 - December 2
:yay:

Good Morning everyone!! I hope everyone has a great day. Probably won't be on much. I'm off to the Norfolk Sprint Triathlon. No, not participating if you thought that your losing your mind...lol. My exchange student is volunteering her time, Then off to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg for the evening.

I have a DISboard technical question?

How do you quote multiple posts in one post? And is it only possible on a computer and not an iPhone?

I meant to ask, how's it going with the exchange student?

I can answer one part of your question. You just click on the middle icon just to the right of the "quote" icon on the lower right side (it has " in the little box). If you just mouse over it, it will say "multi-quote" you click that until you get to the last one you want to quote and then click the "quote" icon and all of them will appear.

Haven't a clue if it works on the iPhone, but I should try it just to see.:goodvibes
