Mickey's Very Magical Christmas Party question....

Whoever among us is staying at WDW before the cruise should wear their bracelets to the MVMCP. Don't you think?

I also have a question...if you are not a huge fan of the shows, is paying for tickets to this worth the $? I am not a big fan of stage shows, but I would love to see the snow on mainstreet. Any advice?...then I'll stop bothering you all with the MVMCP questions!!!

We went a few years ago when DD's were 4,10 &14. The shows were ok but you had to arrive early to get a seat. I think the best thing is being able to get on the rides without any line. We just stayed on the Barnstormer, Big thunder mountain and Its a small world and rode them over and over.

The kids loved unlimited cookies and hot chocolate, but the highlight for us all was a Santa storyteller in a little garden at the back of the castle.I had never seen that garden before or found it since but it was just so magical lit with fairy lights.
You also get a free photo but DD 4 was asleep, DD10 was covered in hot chocolate and the rest of us looked pretty dreadful by 11pm.

Did you particularly want to see the snow on main street? They have snow at the Osbourne Spectacle of lights at MGM studios although I'm not sure what date that starts. Perhaps you would get more for your $ if you went to Mk in the day and hopped to MGM at night

Thanks for the info on the jolly roger cruise in Grand Cayman. It is exactly what I am looking for. However they do not run that cruise on the day of the week we are going to be there. I will check back, they may switch it up between now and then.

My little crowd will wear our bracelets to MCVCP. That way if we see anyone else with them we will get to meet a little bit ahead of time!

We booked out dolphin excursion for Cozumel

About the sweater, bring it, bring it, bring it! Have been on 20+ cruises and there has not been one that I didn't need it at some point, usually in the diningroom!!!

Still waiting for JetBlue and Southwest to open up their November prices, I really want to get our air booked!!:cutie:

Hi Everyone,

We have still not booked our airfare yet. Still waiting on Jetblue:confused3

Bambilin, what do you mean you are bringing your seater?? What time did you book your dolphin tour for?? Ours is at 11am.

I wish I could join you guys for the MVMCP!! Sounds like fun. We are just going to stay with relatives in the area the night before. I hope airfare doesnt get too crazy or we are driving from New Jersey:mad:
That is the last resort.
I will get a second job if the airfare gets too expensive:rotfl2:

Ooops, that was supposed to say sweater, LOL. I will have to edit my post. Sorry about that!!

I know I could go back over all the posts and count, but I know we had a post with the most current info. Can someone remind me what # that was and if it has been updated?

I have a contact email to set up a get together on the ship (in addition to meeting on board at sail-a-way) and I need to give a pretty good count.

We also have some others who have joined on to the crowd over on the Cruise Critic Boards. I can add them in. I am not sure if DCL will set up the get together for DIS Boards or Cruise Critic. I will let them know we are a combined crowd and take it from there.

Will keep you posted!
:cutie:

Its about 97 people including kids and families joining some of the dis members.
What does everyone think?? Should we do something formally through Disney?? How do we find out if everyone will go or not??

p.s.
I booked our airfare yesterday, Jet Blue, not bad $259 p/p R/T from Newark.
Everyone keeps saying book it now.

Thanks so much for the info. I will use the email contact my TA gave me and try to set everything up. I don't think it matters if everyone doesn't show, it didn't when I set it up on NCL. We had about 60 of the 75 in the crowd.

I booked JetBlue myself today. $234 round trip JFK including taxes, etc. I am so relieved that is over with!!

Hi All!

So sorry that I haven't posted in so long. I haven't forgotten about you... we've just been so busy with the kids on Spring Break and now the school year coming to an end. We've had so many extra commitments added to our daily schedule. I'm having a hard time keeping up with everything. :guilty:

We ARE still cruising... wouldn't miss this one (DH's 40th Birthday Cruise) for the world! We still haven't got it together enough to formally schedule our port days and excursions. We also haven't booked airfare yet as SWA hasn't opened up the schedule past the end of October.

I'm going to try and catch up on posts today. I'm sure I'll have something to say! LOL

202 days to go!!! :woohoo:

Hi everybody,
This will be the family's first cruise. We've been planning this for a while now BUT just last week we've decided to make this cruise even more magical;
:tink: we're getting married on the cruise! There will be me ( Robert 35), my fiancee (:bride: Nancy 30), our daugther (::MinnieMo Erika 11) our two sons (::MickeyMo Anakim 9 & pooh: Emrick 2) and my mother in law (;) Lise 51).

Oh yeah I almost forgot, we will also get the bracelets for the whole family.
We can't wait to meet you all.

First time DCL

Welcome aboard, Robert! Wow - a DCL wedding!!! Sounds absolutely amazing!!!

hello

I'm new to this whole thing. I just finished reading all 23 pages of posts. I'm really not sure how this works.

This is going to be our first disney cruise. I haven't booked anything except the cruise. I still have to book our flights. From the information from this great website I have decide to fly in the day before so I have to find a hotel. I need to research some excursions. Any advice? My dd is 5 but shy. After reading all the posts I feel so behind. Any advice is welcomed.

Thanx maegan

Welcome aboard, Maegan! I think your questions have know been answered, but feel free to ask anything at all. This is such a friendly group and everyone is so very friendly (& helpful)!

Is it just you and your DD sailing?

Hey everyone!!!

I'm new to the thread! We booked about a month ago, and I'm finally getting to get back on the boards!

We have a group of 9 that will be joining in on the fun! Myself (Melissa) and my DS (Keegan, 5) did a 4 day on the Wonder in January, and we came back so excited, my sister decided it was time to take her family too. Of course, grandma and grandpa couldn't stay away from the fun, so we'll all be together!
It looks like there's a great group of people on the same trip-we can't wait!

I read about 5 pages so far,, and I'll come back for more-but if someone could fill me in on pertinent details of what you guys have arranged, that would be great!

Here's the rundown of our crew and how old the kiddos will be when we sail:

Me (Melissa) and DS (Keegan, 6)
Sis (Joyce), BIL (Chris), DNs (Lauren, 12; Sarah, 10; Kelsey, 6)
Grandma and Grandpa (Thoris and Frank)

This will be the first DCL for everyone but my son and I, but everyone has cruised before....

We're getting excited-let the planning begin!

Welcome Melissa! A family cruise sounds like so much fun!!! What a great way to create magical memories! ;)

We've mentioned DCL to my BIL and his family and the ILs too, but they just can't seem to justify the money like we can. I guess they just aren't the vacationing type!

Hi all! I sent an email off to DCL to see about arranging a meeting time and place for us and to see if they will send officers and provide refreshments.

I know it was a bit closer to cruise time before NCL confirmed anything with me, but I will let you all know as soon as I hear back! :goodvibes

thank you Angie for keeping the list up to date and thank you Linda for organizing the DIS meet.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. The weather here is finally spring like:yay:

Thanks bambilin for your initiative, hopefully it works, it'd be great.

Does anyone know how to post photos here? I'd like to put some up of my kiddos

Hello,
This is how I do it. I joined photobucket. Uploaded pictures I want there, then under each picture there are various "links" Copy the link called "IMG Code" and then paste it into the body of your reply.

Good luck:goodvibes

Hello all. I already got a phone call this moning from Teva at DCL. She said she will be happy to make arrangments to set yo a meeting place for us and arrange to have some of the officers come by. It will probably be on a sea morning sometime between breakfast and lunch. It will not be a problem if everyone does not come. Teva saild it will be awhile before she gets back to me with time and place info, and she gave me her number to follow up.

Will give you all the details as soon as I get them.
