November 15, 2008 7 night Western 11/15/08 11-15-08

I am totally up for a group brunch reservation at Palo.

An early afternoon meet on a sea day is a good idea too. That way the kids can meet up also.

I will surely ask Teva if that can be arranged. Assuming we are not the only ones with second seating for meals, I will ask her to make it after second seating lunch. Although with the kids it is unlikely we will actually get to do sit down lunch, I am sure some of our crowd will have that luxury!

Palo is still 13 or 14 and over, right?

We would love to be included in the Palo Brunch, but I do not think I can count on Dillon staying at the kids club nor Trevor in Flounder's Reef for babysitting. Of course I am sure after a day or two we will have a hard time getting Dillon out of there. Trevor will only be 15 months, so, well just not sure. Luckily Derrick and I ate at Palo for brunch and dinner last time we sailed!!

Hi everyone!

We may possibly be in for a group Palo ressie......but like Lin, it couldn't be guaranteed that my kids will love the kids programs.....though I really have little doubt.

We're easy. We are not planning too much off the ship.

Hello all! Is it November yet? I'm going to keep asking that until it is! LOL. We decided against the MVMCP, just because I'm not sure my kiddos will be able to stay up that late. We'll do it again when they get older.....it's alot of money to spend on something that they may not stay awake for!

So now we need to decide whether to visit Magic Kingdom or MGM on our one WDW day. Decisions, decisions...........

Glad to see everyone doing well.

Laura, if it were me with two small kids and one day, I'd do the Magic Kingdom. I think it has the most to offer small children and means the most to them, but also has enough that interests adults. I'd go as early in the morning as is suitable for them. It's my guess that lots of people will be sleeping in or going to that particular park later in the day for MVMCP. It may just be a little quieter in the am. If you are staying on-site, I'd go back to the hotel for a swim or nap at about 1pm, then back to the park for an early supper, Wishes, then bedtime.

Keep in mind that while I've done Disneyland to death, I've never been to WDW!!! This is just my opinion based on what I've read.

Angie, mother of many - big small and in between - do you have any suggestions for Laura and her one day at WDW??

I have decided against MVMCP. I see enough snow here and if I really need to see it I'll catch it at Osborne.

Les

I agree that Mk is the best for the younger kids. Although there is Playhouse Disney Live at MGM, I can't think of much else that is geared towards small children. If your kids are early risers, I would get there for park opening and go straight to the most popular rides first (fantasyland). Watch out for Snow White's adventures as it can be a little scary.:scared1:
BTW, Friday is supposed to be the best day to visit both MK and MGM

Thanks for the advice girls! My kids are early risers, so we'll definitely be there early. The reason I was possibly leaning towards MGM was because of Playhouse Disney (they are addicts) AND that's the only place that Mcqueen from CARS is and DS is a nut for McQueen. There is that new Toy Story ride coming there as well, right? I don't know.

Keep in mind, we will be back for the bigger WDW resort trip in a few years when they are a big bigger...so it shouldn't be our only chance to visit.

I didn't know they did a character breakfast. Is this something you have to have reservations for? Please fill me in DCL veterans. It is something we wouldn't want to miss.

Everyone is assigned a character breakfast. I think the dining rotation you are on determines which day you will go. I have read some mixed reviews about this, as it is different from the character breakfasts at WDW. I don't think the characters come to the table and interact with you, but your kids can go up front and dance with them (please correct me if I'm wrong anybody!)

Right you are! Everyone has a character breakfast, you won't need to worry about missing out! And yes, the characters do come to the tables and they spend time with all of the kids. I have a picture from 2002 of DH wearing a Minnie Mouse bow she made for him on his head!

Always looking for a way to make it seem CLOSER...

...the Magic has only 22 sailings before ours!!:cool1:

We will try to make whatever is arranged for group meetings!

I am at the 180 day mark for the WDW leg of our trip...can anyone tell me what days of the week Wishes/Fantasmic/Illuminations are likely to be on? The November calendar isn't out yet and I am wanting to make some dinner reservations!

We will probably be booking this cruise pretty soon. So how many DISers do we have confirmed? Does the ship appear to be crowded at this point?

Hello everyone.
Almost 6 months away......

Hi CastawayJP, we have about 100 people who have checked in here on the thread. I am not sure how full the ship is, I know they are not selling anymore Cat. 11 and 12.

I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day:hippie:

Well that is fine, my family just took it's last cruise in an inside stateroom... We will be a family of 5 by the time this cruise rolls around! My inlaws are set on a verandah, and they are actually dreaming that the Walt or Roy suite is still available! Ah to be so naive!

Hi everyone. We just signed up yesterday. My daughter is an only child (age 12 at time of cruise -- b-day is the week before) and would like to meet some friends before the cruise. :cheer2:

Not suprisingly Cats 1 & 2 were booked... Now we are just waiting on the inlaws to pull the trigger on the Cat 5's or 7's. Deposit is due by Sat, so they better think quick!

WOOHOO!!!! 6 months!

I haven't had a chance to read and catch up on the thread. I think I'll finally have some time after the kids get out of school and we get back from our Memorial Day weekend road trip! ;) We've been soooo busy with... life! Can't wait for things to calm down a bit, so that I can chat with you all more.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day and you're all doing well!!!

:welcome: We're newer than most, but all are helpful and filled with cool info.
Read all the threads and you'll see:disrocks:

For our trip, we are going to MVMCP:santa: on fri, cruise of course with our  Vow Renewelparty: on thur, water park and Arabian Nights on sat, then a week in Jacksonville incl. Turkey Day... and fireworkspixiedust: .

Welcome Tami, you will find a great group of people here. I cannot wait to go. Everyone is excited for summer and I am excited for my cruise!!!!!:yay:
